Story
Meet Finley!! (case #12627) Meet Tucker and Finley — two beautiful 7-year-old sisters whose world was turned upside down after the heartbreaking loss of their owner. Through all the uncertainty and change, one thing remained constant: their love for each other. Finley arrived at the shelter first. Friendly from the start, this slightly rotund lady quickly charmed everyone she met with her sweet nature and enthusiasm for catnip. She settled in as best she could, but it was clear something — or someone — was missing. A few days later, Tucker arrived. She had been much harder to find in the home, hiding away quietly while everything around her changed. Tucker is a bit more shy than her sister, taking comfort in calm spaces and familiar faces. Once we learned these girls were bonded, we reunited them in a shared space — and their reaction was unforgettable. Almost instantly they were grooming one another, rubbing together, exchanging soft sniffs, and settling in side by side as though they could finally breathe again. Watching them reconnect was a beautiful reminder of how deeply they depend on and comfort each other. Finley and Tucker must be adopted together. They are gentle, loving cats who have already endured so much loss, and now they’re hoping for a fresh start in a quiet, caring home where they can stay together forever. If you’re looking to open your heart to a pair of sweet companions who will bring warmth, comfort, and lots of love into your life, Finley and Tucker are waiting to meet you. Please complete an adoption application: https://www.hamilton.ca/home-neighbourhood/animals-pets/adopt-or-foster-pet/adoptions Animal adoptions and viewing are by appointment only. This allows our Adoption Staff to spend quality time with each potential home to ensure the most successful matches are made between the animals and their new families. *Please note: we only adopt within Ontario

Story
Meet Lexi! 3 yrs Spayed/Female Lexi is a cat's cat, and her future hangs in the balance of being able to connect with a compassionate and caring pet owner who can love a cat for the sake of that cat, not for what they get in return from that cat. Lexi was born and raised among a colony of community cats, she was incredibly difficult to catch with efforts spanning more than 10 months as she diligently worked to evade even the most skilled of trappers before she was finally secured, pregnant, and ready to begin adding her own little ones to the overpopulation crisis. Thankfully, Lexi was secured before she could give birth, and her babies never had to experience the harsh reality of being born on the street. Lexi was spayed, and she has been in foster care for well over a year, but Lexi is still a cat's cat, and she has very little use for humans beyond being grateful that they can ensure her comfort and a full tummy. Will Lexi meet you at the door after a long day at work? No. Will Lexi sit up on your lap? Nope. Does Lexi like cuddles? No thanks! Does Lexi love to be petted and show her appreciation with purrs? Also no! Will Lexi sleep up in the bed with you? Not a chance. Will Lexi leap around playing with toys with you? Not going to happen. Will Lexi sit up on the couch with you? Probably not. What WILL Lexi do or offer?? Honestly? Not a lot in terms of what she will give back, or show, but she will faithfully use a litter box, she will happily eat canned and dry food and she may even meow/chatter at you at meal times, and allow a head pet or couple of quick strokes (only at meal times, thank you kindly), she will use a scratching post, and she wont try to dart out your front door every time you come and go. And she is a really great hunter should you happen to have a mouse! And that's about it. Lexi is a good friend to other cats. She settles in really well with another mellow and relaxed cat, she seems to really like the boys to pal and chum around with, and she can make a comforting presence for another cat who would like a buddy who wont try to steal the limelight or try to hog any of the love and affection, but who will just hang around, being there, to watch, cuddle up beside, and hang out with. There is a great chance that Lexi will never become any more open or affectionate. She will probably never be a lap cat, will probably never want to be picked up or held, she will never be able to give what many people are looking for when they adopt a cat - but Lexi still needs to be loved, she still needs a Forever Home, where she can be free to be herself, do her thing and thrive, despite not offering the love, cuddles and sweetness that most people are looking for in a furry family member. Lexi needs someone special to take notice of her, to see her worth despite her aloof and independent nature, and who will offer her a truly unconditional love, that means sharing a home, a life and a love that does not meet the traditional expectations of pet ownership. Lexi can consider a safe barn or shop cat post, where she will be kept safe, well fed and cared for, or would be happy to be a house cat who is simply left to do her thing as she chooses with no expectation of her changing to suit the needs of her humans while they change their focus to accept and love her for who she is. Lexi is fully vetted, vaccinated, spayed, she is microchipped has been treated for routine parasites and is is great health, she has fantastic litter box habits and is a neat and tidy little room-mate who likes to keep herself to herself and is in no rush to change that. ADOPTION FEES WILL BE WAIVED FOR A SUITABLE ADOPTER. Please submit an adoption application for Lexi today at http://priderescue.ca/

Story
Meet Ivy! 1 1/2 yrs Spayed/Female A delightfully sweet and incredibly friendly young lady who faced insurmountable challenges as the young mother of 4 kittens who was trying to make a life for herself and her family outdoors, this stunning young lady was nothing but grateful from the moment she was secured and was brought indoors to raise her family with the help and kindness of a foster family. A bright and beautiful young cat, who was a devoted and doting mother, Ivy is just learning how to play and have fun now that her mothering duties are over, and she no longer has to find shelter and food. Warm and sweet, quietly vocal and chatty, she is a lovely young cat who craves attention and affection, loves to be petted, and is starting to really enjoy some lap time cuddles. A lover of bright sunbeams, cat nip, and yummy canned food meals, Ivy does well with other cats after an initial adjustment and is confident enough to adapt well to a family home with gentle kids. Ivy is a rather small cat, with very pretty markings, and striking eyes - she has a quirky "happy tail" that flips right back up over her body when she is especially pleased or affectionate. A gentle natured, loving and attentive little companion kitty, Ivy has so much love to shower on a very lucky family! Ivy has been vet checked and fully vaccinated, she has been treated for routine parasites, has been microchipped and has been spayed. An adoption fee of $250 applies. Please apply to adopt today at http://priderescue.ca/ and make Ivy YOUR new bundle of sunshine!

Story
Meet Liam! 2 yrs Neutered/Male A bit shy of 2 years old, Liam was a born and raised street cat, a feral living among a colony of cats in Hamilton's north end, where he didnt always know love and kindness. Very shy and timid at first, Liam needs a patient adult home that can allow him a little time to settle in at his own pace - he will hide, run away from you and be elusive for a little while, but given the time he needs to feel secure and safe in a setting and with new people, he opens up day by day into a beautiful companion. Very good with other cats, and looking for a home where there is at least one other cat he can befriend and bond with, as Liam becomes comfortable he begins to show a lovely nature... playful and fun, curious, silly and remarkably brave for a scaredy cat, he enjoys petting and brushing and has a loud and rumbling purr. Very spunky and playful, once comfortable, Liam loves to play with teaser toys and furry mice, and equally loves to romp and chase around with other cat friends with whom he bonds tightly and quickly. Liam is not a lap cat, but he's still so young and has lots of potential to become one as he forms trusting bonds with his new people provided he's allowed to settle in at his own pace and can choose how much affection and how close he becomes with his people in his own time. Having spent some time in foster care, Liam has opened up into a remarkably affectionate and loving young guy with a warm and sweet nature, he just needs a little time to come into himself so he can begin to truly thrive. While it may take Liam a little longer to adapt and settle in than it may a cat who was lucky enough to be born indoors, every moment spent with him is well worth the patience as he begins to open up and share more and more of himself with you. A gentle soul who just needs some time and patience, lots of gentleness and encouragement, this handsome guy is full of character, silly antics and fun, and promises to be truly grateful for all the kindness that is showered on him. Looking for a mature, adult only home with another cat he can become fast friends with, Liam will continue to blossom into an ever more wonderful cuddle kitty, with so much love to share. Liam has been vet checked and fully vaccinated, he has been treated for routine parasites and has been neutered. An adoption fee of $250 applies. Apply to adopt today at http://priderescue.ca/
