Story
Rue is an adorable playful black kitten who is looking for her forever home! To meet one of our adoptable pets or to start the adoption process, please access the adoption application on our website, www.crossroadsanimalrescue.org or download and email it to crossroadsanimalrescuesc@gmail.com. We will then approve you (sending in the application does not obligate you to adopt) and we can set up a time for you to meet one or more of our pets. You can then pay the adoption fee and officially adopt after meeting your new family member. Alternatively, you can do the adoption over the phone before meeting your new pet. The benefit to this is that we will hold the pet for you. However, the adoption fee is non-refundable if you changed your mind after adopting over the phone. Most of our pets are obtained from animal control and therefore we are not certain of their breed or breed mix. We list breed mixes that they most resemble or that their former owners said they were. However, we don't make any guarantees about breed - it is a best guess! Our adoption fees include the spay/neuter surgery, deworming, vet exam, and up to date vaccines. It also includes microchipping as well as heartworm testing or feline leukemia testing. We are happy to adopt out-of-state (and even out of the country!) but transportation for the adopted pet is the responsibility of the new pet owner. If you cannot adopt a pet at this time but would like to support our rescue, please click on the "Sponsor a Pet" button. Your donation will help feed the dogs, cats, small animals, and horses at CARE. Please email at crossroadsanimalrescuesc@gmail.com or call us at (864)972-9906 for more information. This phone number will reach Crossroads Animal Hospital, which is the home of CARE. During business hours, a receptionist will be able to speak with you regarding our adoptable pets. After business hours, the only way to contact CARE is via email. Our puppies and kittens are also eligible for 10% off the rest of the vaccines in their puppy/kitten vaccination series at Crossroads Animal Hospital. Most adult pets are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Puppies and kittens may have the surgery before adoption or we may have new owners return later for the surgery. Story
Meet Pepper! He was abandoned in a carrier outdoors, with his friend Salt, so he is learning to like people again. He is friendly and loves attention, but on his own terms - when he’s had enough attention he will hiss at you, so a household with no kids would be best for him. Let us know if you want to give Pepper a furever home! No adoption fee. To meet one of our adoptable pets or to start the adoption process, please access the adoption application on our website, www.crossroadsanimalrescue.org or download and email it to crossroadsanimalrescuesc@gmail.com. Story
Meet Salt! He was terrified when abandoned outdoors in a crate, so he is now relearning to trust people. He has been slowly warming up and will now approach sometimes for pets. However, he needs a patient owner and no kids. He does well with the cat abandoned with him, Pepper. Additionally, he has a luxating patella (knee cap pops out) which causes a mild limp. He is now on a diet because he is overweight and weight loss will help him walk better. No adoption fee. Let us know if you'd like to give Salt his furever home! Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Charlie is an 8 year old mixed breed cat from Greenville Humane Society. She is a very skittish and aloof cat. She loves to hang out in her cat tree and observe what is going on around her. She also loves to sunbathe. When she was adopted, we were told she had lived with both dogs and cats without issue. We have other cats and dogs, but she does not tolerate them well. We were also told she was litter box trained and while she does use the litter box, she also eliminates in multiple places around the house. We have taken her to the vet multiple times and tried different strategies with her litter boxes. With this being said, we think she would do best with an experienced cat owner and most likely as the only pet in a quiet house. Charlie will show affection on her own terms with people she is familiar with. She loves temptations and catnip. We are looking to rehome her to someone who is willing to work with her as we do not think she would do well in a shelter environment.
