What Shasta does need is another friendly, confident cat in her new home — a feline buddy who can show her the ropes and help her feel safe.Shasta is still finding her confidence with people. She isn’t quite ready for much hands-on attention yet, but she’s safe, cared for, and making slow, steady progress. With time, patience, and a calm environment, she’ll continue to blossom at her own pace. She often greets even her human friends with a quick hiss, but then allows pets. Meet Telemachus! Once a farm cat, Telemachus has decided he’s officially retired from the outdoor life—and he’s ready to enjoy the comforts of a cozy home instead.This handsome guy has a friendly, easygoing personality and has really been leaning into the “indoor life is amazing” mindset. Soft beds, regular meals, all the toys, and human attention? Yes, please. He’s happy to soak it all in.Telemachus still has that independent streak from his past, but he’s also social and enjoys being around people. He’s the kind of cat who will keep you company, check in for pets, play for hours, and then go find a sunny spot for a well-earned nap.He has a significant heart murmur (Grade 5/6 left apical systolic), which means we can hear extra noise when the heart is beating, which can sometimes be associated with underlying heart disease. Right now, he’s feeling well and doesn’t need daily medication, but this is something that will need to be monitored over time with a veterinarian. Some cats with heart murmurs live comfortably for years without major issues, while others may develop symptoms down the road—so it’s a bit unpredictable.Because of his heart murmur, we`re making Telemacaus a Forget-Me-Not right away to help him find his new family quickly.
