Ray is an amazing 3-year-old dog who’s ready to bring excitement and adventure into your life! She’s happiest when she’s on the move — chasing a frisbee, going for a run, or joining her favorite people on an outdoor adventure. Ray would thrive in an active home with adults or older kids (12+) who can match her enthusiasm and keep her both mentally and physically engaged.Ray comes beautifully trained, and her new family will receive her full training packet to help continue her progress and keep building on her great foundation. She has a high prey drive, so she’ll need a home that understands her energy and instincts. Her compatibility with cats will be tested. If you’re looking for a smart, athletic, and loyal companion to join you on every adventure, Ray is your girl!To apply for Ray click here https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=meridenhumanesociety&method=online_form_html&formid=27

adoption donation : $599 weight 38lbs Age 6 months       Charlie is a sweet and friendly girl who loves everyone she meets. She was found abandoned at a truckstop in a rural part of Mississippi and luckily rescued by Wags. At the rescue, she is having a blast running and playing with all the dogs, she just loves other pups! In the house, she is mellow and chill and loves to follow her Foster Mom around.  Charlie has been spayed and vaccinated and is ready to travel to the northeast as soon as the weekend of August 9th. Charlie is housebroken at Wags but like any rescue pup will likely need some training as she adjusts to a new home. She has beautiful and appeared to be a Catahola Leopard dog, very common in Mississippi and known to be very smart and loving dogs. Charlie is just the best, she will  make a wonderful  member of the family.    Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter. Most of our dogs are in Mississippi and come up by Transport, dogs are listed along the Transport route or in an area where we may have volunteers who can help transport the dogs. We do have some of our dogs in foster homes in the northeast, we always need foster homes! Story
If you are looking for a cuddle buddy, Atlas is the guy for you. His unique looks and amazingly sweet and inquisitive personality are products of his rich breed mixture. Atlas (also known as "Mr. Steal Your Heart and Pillow") enjoys long walks, short car rides, exploring, cooling off in creeks, lounging around the house, playing tug, unstuffing plush toys, wrestling and playing the bitey face game with his doggy sibling, cuddling in bed, and anything else that allows him to spend time with his family. At almost 3 years old, he has outgrown most undesirable puppy behaviors, but is still an active boy who requires adequate exercise. He does well with children and other dogs. He has done well with cats! He likes to lead walks and can be overly eager to meet new dog friends, so some training in those areas is recommended. He also gets overwhelmed in busy settings and sometimes experiences stranger danger so it is advised to avoid crowded settings unless addressed by a trainer. He is overnight crate trained, but he becomes anxious when left in the crate for extended periods of time during the day so his ideal home would have a pet parent who is home for the greater part of the day. Atlas is learning how to pull carts. He is a very smart dog and seeks to please his owners. Atlas is house/potty trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines and preventatives. If you would like to meet this handsome guy and make him part of your family, please complete an application at https://forrescue.net/dog-application/

Story
Meet Betsy Blue, the wiggly, talkative, piglet-sounding sweetheart you didn’t know you needed in your life. Betsy is about two years old, and while we can’t be certain since she’s a rescue, our best guess is that she’s a Catahoula Leopard Dog and Pittie mix. With her one blue eye and one brown eye, her soft, floppy ears, and her gorgeous coloring, she’s as stunning as she is silly. At first, Betsy can be a little hesitant when meeting new people. She’ll do her signature “drive by bump” just to test you out before deciding you’re worthy of her wiggles. But once she warms up, you’ll see a whole new side of her — joyful, snorty, and downright hilarious. Her foster says she sounds like a piglet when she gets excited, and she’s been known to jump for joy when her favorite people walk into the room. Once you’re in Betsy’s inner circle, you’ll be greeted with wags, wiggles, and plenty of conversation because this girl is a talker. She has no problem letting you know exactly what she wants, exactly when she wants it. See just how loving and silly this girl can be in her video! https://youtu.be/s42gtTUfaQg?si=chzlVTRf8K1Stl5r Betsy is an active girl who loves her walks, and she’s an absolute dream on the leash. She’ll trot right beside you, checking in with sweet eye contact to make sure you’re enjoying yourself as much as she is. Back at home, she’s a toy enthusiast — her favorite playthings are actually small plush cat toys. She’ll toss them into the air, chase them around, and keep herself entertained with the tiniest of stuffies. She’s also a huge foodie, totally motivated by treats, which makes her not only fun but easy to train. Betsy has lived with other dogs in her foster home and, while she can be shy and a little unsure at first, she blossoms once she feels safe. With time and patience, she turns into a playful companion who enjoys running, chasing, and being chased. She’s also done well living with cats, she’s proven herself capable of settling in peacefully with them. She even wrestles with her feline foster siblings!! Dog-savvy cats are definitely the best fit! Because Betsy can be slow to open up to new people, she would do best with a family who understands the beauty of patience. She would thrive in a quieter home where she can truly decompress, gain confidence, and learn that the world isn’t such a scary place. Older kids who can respect her space and let her come around on her own terms would be a great match for her. Once she trusts you, though, Betsy bonds hard. She’ll be your devoted best friend, your walking buddy, your toy-tossing partner, and your snuggly couch companion. Betsy Blue may take a little time to reveal her true self, but once she does, she’s nothing short of irresistible. She’s wiggly, silly, snorty, and incredibly loyal — the kind of dog who will make you laugh every single day while reminding you just how special the bond between a rescue and their person can be. If you’re ready to give her the patience she deserves, Betsy is ready to give you her whole heart. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
