Story
Meet Maybella, a gorgeous spayed female Catahoula mix with the prettiest eyes and Merle coat! She also has the cutest pink speckled nose! She is about 6 months old and is a petite girl, weighing about 21 lbs currently. She is expected to grow to a medium sized dog.  Maybella is great with everyone - dogs, people, kids, AND cats. Such a social butterfly! She is  described as very friendly and playful - not to mention stunning! She does not love to share food or bones with other dogs, but this is easily managed by feeding and giving high value treats separately from other dogs in the home (we always recommend this anyway). From Maybella's current foster:  "Maybella is such a sweet girl! She loves being with me and my other rescues! She travels nicely in the car and sleeps through the night in her crate!" She is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. Apply to meet this pretty lady today! Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2402295##

We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. 7/13 Still available! We hope to have updated pictures soon. 4/22/25 Trouble and his 4 siblings were found abandoned on a remote back road malnourished and covered in fleas, ticks, and sores. They were evaluated and are approx 12 weeks old and are Catahoula leopard mix. Like his brother, scrappy, trouble earned his name based on his personality. It was quickly recognized that he had curiosity similar to a cat but with the clumsiness of a puppy which easily got him in trouble. He is the biggest of the bunch and going to be VERY stocky in stature. I would call him the class clown of the group. He plays constantly and has no idea that the other animals are getting weary of his energy. Trouble is kennel trained and working on house training. He has had all puppy vaccinations and been fully vetted. He has been socialized with other dogs, cats, kittens, and babies/toddlers. Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Story
Scout is a neutered male hound/weimaraner mix (see his DNA results), weighing about 40-45 lbs. He is a sweet, special boy who has had a rough past and really needs an angel to step up and save his life.  His estimated age is 4-5 years old, however he has graying on his muzzle which makes him look older than he is.  He also has scars on his ears and face.  This boy has definitely experienced trauma and he is slow to trust people, but deep down he just wants to love and be loved.  He is misunderstood and has had people let him down too many times. Scout bonds closely to one person and once he trusts you, you will feel the love and adoration every time he looks into your eyes!  He is a lazy couch potato who loves to nap on the couch next to you and will follow you around the house like your shadow.  Once you’ve really earned his love, he will steal your slippers or other little trinkets that smell like you and take them onto the couch to keep close to him.  He won’t chew them, he just wants to keep a piece of you with him always.   Scout has been adopted and returned once due to fearful aggressive behavior towards men and children.  He has been in his current foster home for over a year now and has not had a single application on him.  He is a good boy, but he requires a very specific type of home to do well, and we have not had any luck finding the right home for him His current foster mom loves him and has worked hard to help him be the best boy he can be, but there is a man in the home and Scout just cannot comfortably coexist with a man.  He (the man) understands that Scout’s aggression towards him comes from a place of fear and he has tried hard to earn Scout’s trust, but the situation is no longer tenable for Scout or his foster family.  Scout will sadly be facing euthanasia very soon if we do not find any other options for him. Scout’s ideal home: A female only home, no men, children, or cats.  Scout does very well with other dogs and likes to be near them, he also has bursts of playful enjoy and will happily romp around for a play session! A friendly, confident doggo friend would help him to feel safe and to trust, although he would also do just fine as an only dog.  A quiet, calm home environment is best for Scout.  He is lower energy and is happy to nap on the couch all day, but he does also love walks (he is strong and tends to pull, so he needs someone strong enough to handle him).  He needs a home that will commit to crating him in a separate room when they have visitors over, as he is not good with new people and when Scout is fearful, he relies on aggression to keep him safe and to keep the “scary” thing away.  Scout needs someone to love him for who he is, warts and all, who will set him up for success and advocate for him. Scout is currently being fostered in CT and he is running out of time!  If you think you might be a good fit for Scout, please consider applying to foster or adopt him!   Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable.
