Story
This unbelievably gorgeous, blue merle blue eyed baby is named Tex!! When this guy came into a local shelter he caught everyone’s eye immediately! Once everybody spent time with him, they realized that not only is he absolutely gorgeous on the outside, but he is an unbelievable sweetheart! Thankfully, a wonderful foster home agreed to take this guy in until we find his forever home! Text has been estimated by the vets to be somewhere between 12 to 24 months old. He’s currently weigh 55 pounds but depending on his age and growth trajectory, he could be as big as 65 pounds or so at full maturity. He has had all medical work completed and his doing wonderful! He’s current on his vaccines, deworming, and flea, tick, and heartworm preventative! He has also been microchipped and neutered. He has also tested negative for heartworm! He has had his medical work done and is officially ready for adoption! This guy has adjusted to Foster care absolutely beautifully. He is a complete social butterfly and loves the opportunity to meet new friends, both human and canine! He is enjoying playing with other dogs of all sizes, and he makes new friends with everyone he meets. He would absolutely love a home with a built-in playmate and snuggle companion, but it is not a requirement. He would be just as happy with doting parents and a fun, happy social life! He’s doing great going potty outside reliably, and he’s learned basic commands like sit, stay, and lay down! He’s exceptionally smart and quick to pick up anything he would like to teach him. He is super loving and confident, and enjoying going for car rides, hikes in the woods, he likes to swim, and is ready to accompany you on whatever journeys you would like to take him! He is absolutely beautiful, but he’s also a solidly excellent dog. He will make a wonderful devoted companion to people who want a dog who will not only enjoy whatever adventure life has in store, but also will enjoy snuggling up on the couch for movies and soaking up all of the love this sweetheart has to give. If this guy is just who you have been waiting for, please visit www.greatdivideanimalrescue.org and submit an application for adoption today! **NOTE** to ensure prompt response- please go directly to our website (www.greatdivideanimalrescue.org) to apply, or email (inquiries.rescuematch@aol.com) directly with any questions to ensure your inquiry/application is received by our organization. Ray is an amazing 3 1/2 year-old dog who’s ready to bring excitement and adventure into your life! She’s happiest when she’s on the move — chasing a frisbee, going for a run, or joining her favorite people on an outdoor adventure. Ray would thrive in an active home with adults or older kids (16+) who can match her enthusiasm and keep her both mentally and physically engaged.Ray comes beautifully trained, and her new family will receive her full training packet to help continue her progress and keep building on her great foundation. She has a high prey drive, so she’ll need a home that understands her energy and instincts. Story
Brooklyn is a special boy—literally! He came to us through no fault of his own after his family experienced a life change. This smart, active pup loves walks, car rides, and, of course, pup cups. He’s fully house trained, well-mannered in the home, and not destructive. Brooklyn enjoys the company of most dogs and would do well with older, respectful kids. He does have a couple of quirks—he’s sensitive about his collar being handled and isn’t a fan of the crate—but with understanding and patience, he thrives. Because of his prey drive, a home without cats would be best. Brooklyn is looking for an active family who will appreciate his personality and keep him engaged. Story
Meet Betsy Blue, the wiggly, talkative, piglet-sounding sweetheart you didn’t know you needed in your life. Betsy is about two years old, and while we can’t be certain since she’s a rescue, our best guess is that she’s a Catahoula Leopard Dog and Pittie mix. With her one blue eye and one brown eye, her soft, floppy ears, and her gorgeous coloring, she’s as stunning as she is silly. At first, Betsy can be a little hesitant when meeting new people. She’ll do her signature “drive by bump” just to test you out before deciding you’re worthy of her wiggles. But once she warms up, you’ll see a whole new side of her — joyful, snorty, and downright hilarious. Her foster says she sounds like a piglet when she gets excited, and she’s been known to jump for joy when her favorite people walk into the room. Once you’re in Betsy’s inner circle, you’ll be greeted with wags, wiggles, and the most loving gaze you could imagine. This girl has a deep love for her people. See just how loving and silly this girl can be in her video! https://youtu.be/s42gtTUfaQg?si=chzlVTRf8K1Stl5r Betsy is an active girl who loves her walks, and she’s an absolute dream on the leash. She’ll trot right beside you, checking in with sweet eye contact to make sure you’re enjoying yourself as much as she is. Back at home, she’s a toy enthusiast — her favorite playthings are actually small plush cat toys. She’ll toss them into the air, chase them around, and keep herself entertained with the tiniest of stuffies. She’s also a huge foodie, totally motivated by treats, which makes her not only fun but easy to train. Betsy is a smart girl too! She picks up new commands within a day or so, and loves to spend quality time learning with you. Betsy has lived with other dogs in her foster home and, while she can be shy and a little unsure at first, she blossoms once she feels safe. With time and patience, she turns into a playful companion who enjoys running, chasing, and being chased. She’s also done well living with cats, she’s proven herself capable of settling in peacefully with them. She even wrestles with her feline foster siblings!! Dog-savvy cats are definitely the best fit! Because Betsy can be slow to open up to new people, she would do best with a family who understands the beauty of patience. She would thrive in a quieter home where she can truly decompress, gain confidence, and learn that the world isn’t such a scary place. Older kids who can respect her space and let her come around on her own terms would be a great match for her. Once she trusts you, though, Betsy bonds hard. She’ll be your devoted best friend, your walking buddy, your toy-tossing partner, and your snuggly couch companion. Betsy never fails to bring a smile to everyone she meets. She’s wiggly, silly, snorty, and incredibly loyal — the kind of dog who will make you laugh every single day while reminding you just how special the bond between a rescue and their person can be. She has been described as just so loveable! If you’re ready to give her the patience she deserves, Betsy is ready to give you her whole heart. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
Shredder may have a fierce name, but this little guy is really just a goofy, lovable puppy who lives for playtime and attention. This Catahoula Leopard Dog and Pitbull mix boy is around three months old and full of personality. First things first, you should definitely watch their video: https://youtu.be/J-CijmQWwyA?si=ktlOgEK9YNi9Of5m It perfectly captures their playful, silly puppy energy. Shredder is very, very extremely playful and loves wrestling and tumbling around with his siblings. Their games can get pretty wild, and they actually play pretty rough with each other in that joyful puppy way. Because of that, they need to go with owners who will be good and ready to help guide them as they grow. Shredder is the kind of puppy who seems to wake up excited about life. Every toy is the best toy ever. Every room is a new place to explore. Every sibling is a potential wrestling partner. He’s playful, curious, and always ready for a good time, but he also has a very sweet side. He enjoys attention from people and will happily soak up pets when he’s taking a break from his busy puppy schedule. Shredder will do best in a home ready for an active, playful puppy and excited about helping him grow into the wonderful dog he’s meant to be. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
Scout is a neutered male hound/weimaraner mix (see his DNA results), weighing about 40-45 lbs! He is a sweet, special boy who has had a rough past and really needs an angel to step up and save his life. His estimated age is 5-6 years old, however he has graying on his muzzle which makes him look older than he is. He also has scars on his ears and face.   This boy has definitely experienced trauma and he is slow to trust people, but deep down he just wants to love and be loved.  He is misunderstood and has had people let him down too many times. Scout bonds closely to one person and once he trusts you, you will feel the love and adoration every time he looks into your eyes!  He is a lazy couch potato who loves to nap on the couch next to you and will follow you around the house like your shadow.  Once you’ve really earned his love, he will steal your slippers or other little trinkets that smell like you and take them onto the couch to keep close to him.  He won’t chew them, he just wants to keep a piece of you with him always.   Scout has been adopted and returned once due to fearful aggressive behavior towards men and children. He has been in his current foster home for over a year now and has not had any adopt interest. He is a good boy, but he requires a very specific type of home to do well, and we have not had any luck finding the right home for him   His current foster mom loves him and has worked hard to help him be the best boy he can be, but there is a man in the home and Scout just cannot comfortably coexist with a man. He (the man) understands that Scout’s aggression towards him comes from a place of fear and he has tried hard to earn Scout’s trust, but we feel that Scout would do best in a home with NO men.  Scout’s ideal home: A female only home, no men, children, or cats.  Scout does very well with other dogs and likes to be near them, he also has bursts of playful enjoy and will happily romp around for a play session! A friendly, confident doggo friend would help him to feel safe and to trust, although he would also do just fine as an only dog.  A quiet, calm home environment is best for Scout. He is lower energy and is happy to nap on the couch all day, but he does also love walks (he is strong and tends to pull, so he needs someone strong enough to handle him).   He needs a home that will commit to crating him in a separate room when they have visitors over, as he is not good with new people and when Scout is fearful, he relies on aggression to keep him safe and to keep the “scary” thing away.  Scout needs someone to love him for who he is, warts and all, who will set him up for success and advocate for him. Scout is currently being fostered in CT. If you think you might be a good fit for Scout, please consider applying to foster or adopt him!   Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##1778132##
