Story
We are looking to rehome our sweet boy, Chipi. He is a 2-year-old Chihuahua, and this is an incredibly hard post for us to write. Our schedules have changed, and we just don't have the time to give him the attention he deserves. It’s not fair to him, so we’re looking for the perfect forever home. Chipi is super affectionate and a total people person. He gets along great with everyone and does amazing with other pets, too. His absolute favorite thing in the world is playing fetch—he will literally fetch endlessly if you keep throwing the ball! When he's not playing, he just wants to cuddle and be near you. Quick facts about Chipi: Fully house-trained Well-behaved (no special tricks, just a good boy) Healthy with no medical issues or special needs Chipi is a happy, loving little guy who needs a family with the time to play with him.

Story
Meet Spunky, a 2-year-old, 14-pound Chihuahua mix who recently joined us and is looking for his forever home—and we have to say, his name suits him perfectly!Spunky is a happy, playful little guy who loves people, loves toys, and loves other dogs. In fact, when it comes to making canine friends, Spunky can be a bit enthusiastic—he seems to operate under the assumption that every dog he meets is simply a friend he hasn't won over yet! While he's busy exploring and having fun, Spunky also makes a point of checking in regularly with his handler, showing us that as much as he enjoys a good time, his people are pretty important to him, too.If you're looking for a social, playful, people-loving companion with plenty of personality packed into 14 adorable pounds, Spunky would be delighted to meet you. Come say hello—he's already planning on being your friend! To get started in the process of meeting Spunky, please visit https://azfriends.org/testing/adopt.html to complete an adoption consultation form, and then come by the Adoption Center to meet with one of our adoption counselors. No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the animal. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In the event there is more than one home interested in the same animal, a lottery may be held that will include all families that are at our adoption center at the time we open the day the animal becomes available. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

Story
Meet Grape Soda, a 4½-year-old, 21-pound Chihuahua mix who recently joined us and is ready to find her forever home. And yes—we are completely smitten with that adorable underbite!Grape Soda is a happy little girl who enjoys spending time with people. She can be a bit cautious when she finds herself in a new situation, but give her a little time to get comfortable and her sweet personality begins to shine. When it comes to playtime, Grape Soda is perfectly capable of entertaining herself! In an unfamiliar setting, she wasn't particularly interested in playing with other dogs and seemed much happier running around and having fun on her own. If there's another dog in her future home, she may be most comfortable with a calmer, respectful canine companion who won't insist on being her new best friend before she's ready. She also walks nicely on a leash, making her a great candidate for neighborhood strolls and adventures with her new family. If you're looking for a sweet, happy companion with an independent streak, a little bit of sass, and an underbite that's nearly impossible to resist, Grape Soda just might be your girl!To get started in the process of meeting Grape Soda, please visit https://azfriends.org/testing/adopt.html to complete an adoption consultation form, and then come by the Adoption Center to meet with one of our adoption counselors.
