Story
"TINY" - SWEET YOUNG CHI-MIX WITH SPECIAL NEEDS LOOKING FOR A GREAT HOME My name is Tiny, and I’m a young, adorable Chihuahua mix . I’m ten months old and weigh 28 lbs. I love people/kids and dogs and get along with cats. Overall, I’m full of joy, and I love to prance around, lifting my front paws like a show-pony. I get a lot of compliments on my cute face, especially my “eyebrows” as well my fur which is a little bit curly. I had a rough start to my life, living on the streets as a baby in a bad neighborhood. Luckily for me, a homeless man took pity on me and tried to care for me while he was also struggling with life on the streets. When I had a seizure, he realized he didn’t have the resources to look after me and found a foster to take me in. After visiting a neurologist, I learned that I have epilepsy, and the vet put me on medication. Since then, I haven’t had a single seizure. I was also diagnosed with Vestibular Disease, which is an inner-ear condition that affects balance. However, most of the symptoms have disappeared as I’ve gotten older, and all that’s left is a sleight head-tilt, which people find adorable. So, I need to find a home where my adopters don’t mind giving me a pill in the morning and night. Other than that, I’m pretty low maintenance. I love my walks and playing with other dogs. I’m also neutered and microchipped and have had all my shots. If you think you can give me a loving home, please contact my foster Jack at the contact info below. He will also pay for my medication for the first six months in my new home. 424-625-5752 - Santamonicabased@gmail.com

Story
Sweet girl who you would never guess is 10 yrs old...Meet Goldie! Goldie is a 10 yr old, female, 10lb, Chihuahua that we recently rescued from the Santa Monica Shelter. She was brought in as an owner surrender when the owner's daughter relinquished her on behalf of her elderly mother who could no longer care for Goldie. The daughter claimed that she had to move in with her mother to care for her and basically didn't want Goldie there anymore. It's ok...we work closely with this shelter and when they let us know about Goldie and her situation, we knew we had to help! We got her out immediately and into one of our amazing foster homes! Goldie is such a good girl and so laid back, but she also has pep in her step and loves taking walks and playing with a toy. She's not a barker and seems to be potty trained with outdoor access. Basically...she is perfection! Our foster mom does not believe that Goldie is 10 years old and feels that she is a few years younger maybe at 7-8 years old. Goldie was dumped when she was doing nothing wrong, but unfortunately this happens way too often. We know that her forever home is out there and she deserves the absolute best one! Goldie is vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed. We only adopt in the Greater LA areas as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required. Please contact us at: gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020 Goldie's adoption fee is $450

Story
This beautiful bonded pair is Winnie and Waffles, mother and son that are the sweetest dogs ever! Winnie and Waffles came to us when our vet tech helped save dogs months ago from an unhoused man who couldn't properly care for them. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, and she was alerted that the man had more dogs. We were able to get him to surrender Winnie and Waffles along with two English Bulldogs that a rescue partner of ours brought into their foundation. This bonded mother and son were living in absolute horrible conditions where they stayed in filthy boxes, sometimes tied up. We got them straight to our groomer and then to our vet where they were examined and vaccinated. Winnie is approximatedly 3 years old and we believe Waffles is about 8 months old. They are the absolute cutest pair that get along perfectly! All they ever had was each other during those rought times and we can see how bonded they are. We would love to keep them together and are looking for a home that will do just that. Owner that are not gone long hours during the day would be ideal as they have been through so much and love human companionship. If you are looking for two perfect dogs to add to your family, then Winnie and Waffles just might be the dogs for you! Winnie and Waffles are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. We only adopt in So California as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required. Please contact us at gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020

Story
Hi there! We’re Mallory and Valerie — a devoted mother-daughter duo with hearts full of love, looking for a forever home together. Here’s a little about us: Mallory (8 years old)Hi, I’m Mallory — the proud (and petite!) mama. That’s right — even though I’m the mom, I’m actually the smaller one! I’m calm, cuddly, and happiest when I’m near my people. I adore kids, love sunbathing, and enjoy nice little walks. I’m housebroken and pee pad trained (though I sometimes have little misses). I’ll always be right by your side, ready with snuggles and sweet tail wags. Valerie (4 years old)And I’m Valerie, Mallory’s daughter! I can be a bit shy at first, but once I know you, I’m full of affection. I prefer quieter homes with older kids (10+), and I do well with other dogs after a bit of time to adjust — but no cats, please! I love spending time with my mama and soaking up the sun just like her. Our Bond We’re truly two peas in a pod. Whether we’re napping side by side or trotting along on a walk together, we bring each other comfort and joy. We also love being around our humans and will shower you with double the love and tail wags! Our Dream Home We’re hoping to find a calm, caring home where we can stay together and be part of the family. If you have room in your heart (and on your couch!) for two loving girls, we’d be so excited to meet you. Much Love, Mallory and Valerie

Story
Hi! We are Mallory and Valerie, a dynamic furry bonded pair full of love and affection to share. I'm Mallory, a 6-year-old sweetheart, and I, Valerie, am 1 year old, full of puppy charm. We were transferred from Harbor to the WLA shelter with three other siblings. We are exceptionally cuddly and affectionate. We LOVE to be nestled side by side and frequently exchange licks and kisses. When it comes to potty skills, we are pros! No accidents for us! We are very smart and listen to commands and directions well. We can't wait to find our forever home together! https://www.muchlove.org/animals/valerie-%26-mallory

Story
Charlie   Age: 3 years Sex: Neutered male Breed: Mix Color: Brown Weight: 8.05 kg Height: 32 cm     Rescue Story   Charlie was rescued from an extremely traumatic situation. After an elderly owner passed away, the home was found with deceased cats, one surviving cat, and Charlie — who had been left confined in the bathroom with a wire muzzle tied around his mouth.   After the scene was cleared by authorities and the landlord, Charlie was placed in temporary care and then transferred to a municipal shelter. Despite what he went through, Charlie has remained affectionate, intelligent, and deeply people-oriented.     ‍‍ With People   Charlie loves people and seeks connection.   • Approaches both familiar and new people with friendly body rubs • May be slightly shy at first, but warms up quickly with treats • Allows handling and enjoys being held when supported under the belly • Often shows his belly once comfortable — sometimes even to new people • Generally more comfortable with women • Can be fearful of some men and needs patient, calm introductions     With Other Dogs   Charlie is social and playful with other dogs.   • Greets both familiar and unfamiliar dogs and invites them to play • Friendly with dogs both larger and similar in size • If another dog challenges him, he may respond — so careful introductions are important   Cats & Prey Drive   • Has lived in a multi-cat household for about 5 months • On walks, he may stare at cats but will follow his handler • Shows prey drive toward birds   Energy & Activity   Charlie has medium to high energy and has athletic ability.   • Loves outdoor activity and play • Settles well after proper exercise • Needs daily physical and mental stimulation   He has even kept up with Border Collies and Malinois for hours of play — he is small but mighty.     On Walks   • Walks well on leash without pulling • Loves to sniff and may stop often to explore     At Home   • Uses both pee pads and outdoor potty • Calm and well-behaved in a kennel • Gets in and out of the car on his own • May bark at unfamiliar people     Food & Training   • Not food-protective toward people • May growl if another dog approaches while he is eating • Extremely food-motivated — excellent for training     Play, Training & Intelligence   Charlie is smart, athletic, and playful.   • Loves fetch, tug, and chasing toys • Prefers soft toys like socks and plushies • Enjoys puzzle toys and food-dispensing toys • Strong bite strength — toys wear out quickly   He has even won local competitions for: “Sit & Stay” “Find the Treat”   He thrives in homes that enjoy training, agility, and interactive play.     The Right Home   He needs: A confident, consistent handler Daily exercise and mental stimulation Structured introductions to new dogs and people   In return, he becomes deeply loyal, funny, energetic, and emotionally bonded to his person — a true partner for someone who enjoys an active life with their dog.   Charlie is ready to give his whole heart to the person who gives him stability, leadership, and love.
