Story
Meet Sheldon 🕺Sheldon is a 13yr old, 6lb, Chihuahua. You may say Sheldon is old, but you would never know, except he does sleep a lot. Sheldon loves his people, and believe it or not he loves to play. Sheldon is blind, but that doesn’t bother him and he learns his area quickly. Sheldon will lay on his back and loves to “wrestle”. Sheldon loves his belly rubbed,he gets so excited, it usually ends up being gentle wrestle play. Sheldon does sleep a lot, I call it power naps for his next play session. If you are looking for an older dog with still some play in him Sheldon is your guy. Sheldon loves to be held, and would make a great travel buddy since he really doesn’t care what’s going on around him as long as he is with his people. Sheldon is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and up to date on his rabies vaccine.

Story
Bingo is a 2 year old male medium sized mutt. We have no idea what his mix is, but he appears to be a cross between a shepherd and a smaller breed, as he is only 35 lbs and full grown. Bingo is friendly with people and dogs once he warms up to them. He has not been observed with cats or young kids. Bingo is medium energy: he loves walks and couch time. Bingo was found as a stray and taken to a high kill shelter. He was set to be euthanized due to overpopulation, so we pulled him. He was shy but sweet at the shelter. He has become very friendly and playful in his foster home. He loves going on walks with his foster parents’ dogs and cuddling with his foster mom.

Story
Tater Tot is adorable with a capital "A"! Tater Tot is about 3-4 months old and is a tiny girl with a big personality. She is a playful and fun girl who loves to race around and then curl up in your lap for some snuggles. Don't let her small size fool you, she is a busy girl with places to be and people to meet, and is always down for an adventure. Tater Tot only weighs about 4lbs now, and we think she will be around 10-12lbs when fully grown. Tater Tot was found as a stray with an adult male dog and brought into a local shelter. After no one came to claim the dogs, the shelter staff reached out to us about taking her in. We were quick to scoop her up, and the adult dog she came in with was quickly adopted from the shelter soon after. She was pretty overwhelmed when she first came to us, but has been settling in great in his foster home, and she can't wait to meet her fur-ever family! Tater Tot is a fun and affectionate pup, with a sprinkle of sassy. She has the confident and adventurous personality that you would expect from a terrier mix, but the sweet and loyal traits that make chihuahuas great companions. She loves meeting new people and is quick to cover your face in lots of kisses. She is eager to explore new places and even got to check out the snowy mountains over Christmas. She is still learning all of her basic manners, so she needs a family committed to continuing her training to help her grow up to be the best girl she can be. Tater Tot has been doing very well living with other dogs and seems like she would love to have another playful small dog in her new home. Tater Tot has been doing well living with dog-savvy kitties. Due to her small size, Tater Tot would do best in a home with kids 10 years and older. Tater Tot is still working on her housetraining, but has been making great progress. Her new family will need to be patient with her while she is learning and be consistent with her training. Tater Tot has been doing well being left for short periods in a pen. She isn't the biggest fan of being left alone, so would do best with a family who won't have to leave her alone often or for long. Despite her small size, we don't think Tater Tot would do well living in an apartment. She has lots of opinions and isn't afraid to speak up to have them heard. Tater Tot is such an amazing little girl who is going to make the best BFF. If she sounds like the puppy for you, submit an application today!   Tater Tot's adoption fee is $400.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org.
