Meet Sheldon 🕺Sheldon is a 13yr old, 6lb, Chihuahua. You may say Sheldon is old, but you would never know, except he does sleep a lot. Sheldon loves his people, and believe it or not he loves to play. Sheldon is blind, but that doesn’t bother him and he learns his area quickly. Sheldon will lay on his back and loves to “wrestle”. Sheldon loves his belly rubbed,he gets so excited, it usually ends up being gentle wrestle play. Sheldon does sleep a lot, I call it power naps for his next play session. If you are looking for an older dog with still some play in him Sheldon is your guy. Sheldon loves to be held, and would make a great travel buddy since he really doesn’t care what’s going on around him as long as he is with his people. Sheldon is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and up to date on his rabies vaccine.

Lolita is the happiest little nugget you'll ever meet. She has a smile and a tail wag for old friends and new. She's approximately 5 years old, with a heart of gold. She came quite obese so we did some bloodwork on her and she's got a minor condition called hypothyroidism, which is easily managed with an inexpensive medication which we'll start at the shelter. If you do not receive confirmation from us, email adoptions@hsnb.org . -----Perry is the gentlest medium size dog there could be. He's house-trained and while he is a little clumsy, he's agile and licks people and did very well in a large crowd in his foster home. He was timid for a minute and once he realized everyone was friendly, he worked the crowd for pets and attention. He does very well in the car and on leash, but he has a little fright of getting into a car. He always has to be lifted in because he won't jump into the car himself, although he physically could. He'd be very patient with kids as he deals with cranky foster siblings and loves to play wrestle with a much smaller terrier. He sort of thinks he's a lap dog and curls up in bed and on the couch into as small a ball as possible, despite his larger size than the other small dogs around him, but he doesn't expect to be the only affectionate dog. He's also fine curling up on a chair across the room or above people's on the back of the couch so he can lick them from there, where no other dog dares to perch. He's definitely food-motivated and will steal food or chew up napkins left unattended, but he can't quite reach up to the kitchen counter, thankfully. He also knows to keep his distance when other dogs are feeding, which is a nice trait. He can be somewhat protective of chew toys, but never seriously aggressive with other dogs.
