Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: YesGood with cats: Yes, dog-savvy catsGood with kids: NoCrate trained: NoHouse trained: Yes (with pee pads)Sui is a very special little lady with an enormous heart and a wonderful personality!Sui thrives being around other pups (the more the merrier) and gains confidence with people through observing other dogs and their human interactions. She is looking for a loving, calm, and consistent home with a confident, nurturing doggie sibling who can help her feel safe and secure. When she is nervous, she takes comfort by snuggling up to other dogs in the home.It may take Sui some time to trust new people, especially men, but once she warms up, she is a sweet, spunky, lovable pup! She loves to stick with her pack and gets along well with other dogs of all sizes. For a small dog she easily keeps up with the bigger pups in her foster home. She is also comfortable around cats and has been smitten with a neighbor’s Maine Coon cat. She absolutely loves running with other dogs in a fenced-in area. For a little pup, she is incredibly fast!Sui has good leash manners when using a transitional lead. She enjoys walks around the neighborhood and in the woods, but the beach is her favorite place by far. She has even been known to frequent local breweries to listen to live music! She has started to approach people on her own to say hello as she gets more and more at ease with being in new situations. Sui knows she is pretty and loves to dress up in all her cute outfits, but she is a smart girl too and knows ‘sit’, ‘laydown’, and ‘dance’ for treats. She also has amazing recall and loves sprinting back to her humans when her name is called! She, like most dogs, loves her Lamb Chop toy and will carry it around the house. Sui is uncomfortable around kids, so an adult-only home would be best. Sui has separation anxiety, so she is looking for a home where her humans are around a lot or where there is another dog she can depend on. She is not crate trained, but she can be trusted home alone with another dog, especially if they are gated into a specific area.Sui is a flight risk, so caution will need to be used when walking outdoors or opening doors in the home. Sui is working on house training and does great if taken out on a regular schedule.More than anything in the world, Sui wants to be part of a loving pack that can help her build up her confidence and give her lots of snuggles. While this sweet girl may need a little extra TLC, she is absolutely worth it!Please Note: All dogs are posted until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. Her favorite thing is to lay right on top of you and lay around your neck. She is good with other dogs and loves to be vocal when playing. She is crate trained and may protest at first but will settle down quickly. She does sleep in the bed at her foster's home and loves to cuddle all night. She likes to go for walks but prefers to stay on the concrete over the grass. She does well with the children in her foster home and loves to play with them. She does well with cats and is mostly uninterested. She is mostly house trained as she has not had an accident in over 2 weeks but she will need someone to show her the routine. Jules is a fun loving pup who just wants to sit with her people and cuddle all day. Please Note: All dogs currently available for adoption are posted on our website. Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: YesGood with cats: YesGood with kids: Yes, dog savvy childrenCrate trained: No (Pup shows anxiety/barks/has accidents when crated)House Trained: Mostly (1-2 accidents/week; just needs time and consistency)Meet Tooty Fruity! This sweet, little lady relishes affection and her independence. A calmer home would be best for Tooty. She can become easily overwhelmed and remove herself in a chaotic situation. When everything is on the quieter side, she will crawl up on the bed for snuggles. She will need the right adopters who will provide comfort and warmth when she becomes skittish.Tooty is on the low energy side and is content just being with her people. While she gets along well with other dogs, she is not all that interested in playing. She gets along fine with both cats and children. Older children might be best as they are a little less boisterous. While Tooty currently eats in the crate, it is not her favorite place. It has not gone well, and her new home should not consider this a realistic option. House training has progressed almost to the point of mastery, and, a focused routine should complete this. Leash training is still a work in progress.Tooty is the classic chihuahua that requires nothing in he forever home but love and a warm lap! Please Note: All dogs currently available for adoption are posted on our website. If you cannot find a particular dog on our website, he/she may be on a temporary foster hold. All dogs are otherwise posted until they are officially adopted. Story
Library, yes! Dogpark, NO! Rio is a screamer if he even sees other dogs- but typically OK with new people! He's a tiny, tidy, handsome 10lb fox-like mix, intelligent, fast learner. Age 3 to 5 years. Likes people but not clingy. Loves a long walk, soft toy, snoozing while you work, hanging on the porch. Generally polite with humans, barks to alert. If he gets overstimulated, he will jump & mouth. Housetrained 4hrs days, 8hrs night Walks well on leash Hates/fears most dogs, loves a few! He moved in several months ago as a pal for my chihuahua, whom he turns out to hate. If he reacts negatively to another dog, that's it, he won't change his mind. Surprisingly, he & our older bigger F dog enjoy each other, play & walk well together (pic) Ideal household: As an only pet or with a mellow, friendly, probably female, dog who likes him With someone who's home a lot or can take him along No grabby kids Quiet setting, no neighbors to disturb (fine clear tenor bark) Fenced yard
