Story
Hendrix the Great! Hendrix is available for adoption NOW through Adopt Rescue Foster. Freshly neutered and UTD on vaccinations and chipped, he is ready to find a loving family to call his own. He is house trained, kennel trained and leashed trained. Likes all creatures big and small, dog or cat. He just wants to be friends! This little dude is 22lbs and is listed as a 3-4 year old Chi Basingi mix. He is more praise than treat motivated and his zoomies are the very best entertainment!! Hendrix being given away on FB for free, which can be a very scary deal with an unknown future. I reached out and asked if they'd consider surrendering to a licensed rescue. They said yes, PLEASE! Hendrix's mom and small humans found themselves homeless and he was not allowed to stay with them at the place they were staying. He went to a relatives house and 3 days into the stay, his mom found out the man in the home was kicking him and kicking his kennel when he was in it. She was beyond upset. She reached out to shelters which are all full and didn't know what else to do. She was desperate to find him a better situation, even if it meant giving him up permanently for free. Despite all he has been through, Hendrix has the sweetest personality. He takes a minute to warm up, more to men than women/kids (understandable given his abuser was a man). He doesn't give kisses often, but when he does it's to the smallest human in the home. He is obsessed with the baby human in our home and completely adores her .

Story
This is Cy, with one eye! He is an 8 year old Chihuahua/Pom mix that was born with a deformed eye. He wants nothing more than to snuggle on your lap and soak up your affection. Cy's problem ... well, he is a real "Get Off My Lawn!!" kind of guy. We figure a lot of his grumpiness comes from his limited vision. He's not always sure what is coming at him. Because of that he is selective about the dogs in his orbit. He does not do well with hyper, excitable friends. He does better with low-key folks like himself! He does not, however, like to share his space, especially if that space is next to his human. Cy would do best as the only dog, but could exist with the right friend. He also takes a bit to warm up to new people, but he always seems to get there! Cy is not the dog for everyone, but if you want a great companion that will snuggle as long as you will let him, Cy, with one eye, might be your guy!

Story
Hi, I'm Squiggy (my foster mom calls me Squigs for short!) I'm 14 weeks old, and a mix of Chihuahua, Pomeranian, and Shih Zhu (or at least that's what the people who surrendered me said!). I'm a super happy guy, and get along with dogs and humans of all sizes! I haven't met any cats yet, but my foster mom thinks I'd probably be okay with them! I'm a fun loving kid who loves to give kisses, be held, and play! Could you be my perfect forever family?! What are you waiting for?! Submit the application already!! Squiggy is available through our Foster to Adopt Program to LOCAL (KC area) adopters only. His adoption fee is $350 and comes with all age appropriate vaccines, neuter, microchip, and heartworm prevention.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Chief is 3-4 years old, 10lb neutered male. He originally came from a hoarding situation and isn't very confident as he wasn't socialized to humans. Chief would do best in a quiet home with someone who can help build trust. He would prefer a home with ladies and needs a fenced yard as he is scared to walk on a leash. Once you're his person he is very sweet and will become your shadow. Chief needs someone who will love him for who he is and make him feel safe. He does well with other small dogs but may be better as an only dog until he gains his confidence. He will need time but this handsome dog is the sweetest boy once he feels protected & safe. We are located in the metro Kansas City area.
