Story
(DOB 10/31/2025) Meet Tulip. Due to her young age, she has not been spayed yet. For this reason, we are only considering local placement (within a 1-hour drive time of Wake Forest NC).  Tulip is a sweet, spunky puppy who’s ready to blossom alongside her forever family! She's full of that classic puppy energy and curiosity. She loves to play, explore, and be right where her people are. She’s a social little lady and can be vocal when she wants attention or company, especially if she thinks she’s missing out on the fun   Tulip thrives on companionship and needs another dog (similar size and energy level) in the home to help her burn energy, learn dog manners, and feel her best. Like many puppies, Tulip is still learning the rules. She’s potty training and making progress, but patience and consistency are key. She has sharp puppy teeth and will happily try to play with hands if not redirected, so she’ll need an adopter who’s committed to using toys for redirection (and having lots of them!). If toys aren’t handy, she may decide your remote or shoes are fair game. She’s also curious to a fault—anything left on the floor may end up in her mouth, Because of those sharp puppy teeth and enthusiastic play style, no small children would be best. She does like to chase cats (heck, at her young age anything and anyone is like fun and games to Tulip), so a cat-free home or very savvy cat would be ideal. If you’re looking for a loving and playful puppy who will keep you laughing and on your toes—in the best way—Tulip might just be your perfect match. As part of Tulip’s $325 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. In addition to the adoption fee, a $100 spay/neuter deposit and puppy spay/neuter agreement will also be required. The deposit will be returned once the puppy is altered. If you have questions about this sweet girl, you can email: Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org. If you wish to adopt Tulip, you can complete an application online for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website: www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2642589##

Story
*** AVAILABLE ON-SITE ONLY FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS *** **Adoption fee waived for prior adopters, fosters and hosts** Say hello to this senior sweetheart, Grapevine! She is a friendly, calm girl who prefers a bit of independence. After settling in, her curiosity will have her following you and wanting to be sitting and cuddling with you on her own terms and in her own time. Grapevine has found that she actually likes to snuggle and cuddle up most of time, but she prefers it to be her choice. Although shy at first, this little gal is curious – paying attention and carefully watching you and checking out her new situation. Once she’s convinced that all is well and she feels as though she’s in control, Grapevine will be ready to be your best friend! Her foster reported seeing her change after 3 days, blossoming a little more each day. Grapevine must not have had the kindest lot in life prior to coming to Saving Grace, as she seems to be experiencing so many new things for the first time in her foster home. She's learning about potty training, and is doing well when taken out regularly. This gal enjoys going outside for short periods of time, but seems to know to use potty pads if she can’t wait. Grapevine will follow her furry friends outside, not wanting to be left out, unless the weather is wet and frigid. As she unwinds and get more comfortable in her foster home, she has been spotted playing with soft toys and furry friends her size. An equal opportunity friend, Grapevine does great with both dogs and cats! Grapevine's a smart lady who will come to you when she wants to be picked up or to soak in some couch snuggles, and she is learning to love being loved on in her own time. She is definitely curious about her human and will follow you around the house to see what you’re up to. Crate time is no problem, as Grapevine sleeps very well in her crate and will occasionally go in just to chill and have her own quiet time. Telling her its bedtime and encouraging her to go to her crate has been successful. Grapevine is a lovely and loving girl who would love to find her forever home that comes with extra patience, and possibly a lower energy sibling. We heard through the grapevine that she just might be scooped up soon, so make an appointment to meet her today!

Story
**AVAILABLE ON-SITE ONLY ON FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS ** Meet Machaca! This sweet little girl will wiggle into your heart with her gentle nature and her slightly short low-rider legs that only make her extra adorable. Pictures don't completely capture her cuteness, you have to watch her prance over to meet a new friend to see just how adorable she is! While she may seem a little unsure of new people and places at first, her fosters report that in only a few days she learns that her new people are the best and will become the best snuggle buddy. In recent days when she comes to Saving Grace for Fun Sized appointments the volunteers are all noticing how much more at ease she is. It's great fun seeing her friendly personality emerge as she has figured out she is surrounded by nothing but nice people despite her life being completely different from what it was before! She wags her little tail at newcomers and leaps into the arms of volunteers even when she's only met them briefly before, so she's probably going to astound her new family with her continued progress over the weeks and months after she is adopted. Machaca's foster reports that she is still learning the ropes with potty training but that as she gets in a routine she is getting better day by day. Machaca is getting used to being on a leash and walking around outside. She can be a little unsure of new environments - all the reason to leash her up with a harness she can't slip out of and let her see the world so that her confidence can keep expanding! While with her snow weekend foster after she first arrived at SG, she was able to get a bath and is reported to do pretty good in a bath setting! She has also been around a larger sized dog and is reported to do well with friends. She came from a household that was overwhelmed by numerous other small dogs around her size, so she is very used to living with canine friends. It's not surprising that she can slot right in with a new pack with ease. Machaca is a very sweet girl who deserves to have a family that can show her how great life can be. If you are interested in meeting Machaca, we invite you to make a Fun Size appointment!

Story
***AVAILABLE ON-SITE ONLY FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS*** Hi, I am Tripp, a stately gentleman who enjoys leash walking even when it is cold outside. I accept sweaters gracefully and will leash walk with great skill. Despite being a senior guy, I have a blast outside. Inside, you can find me on a cuddly blanket, on my person's lap, or on the sofa. After all, life is too short to lay on hard things! I will gladly accept treats and most enjoy canned seafood diet with seafood kibble, although I probably could have any diet and be just as happy. With ears that are like echolocators, I can hear you coming from a long way off and eagerly pop out of my nest to greet you. The best time of the day is quiet time with my humans while we enjoy cuddling and pets. I would prefer a home with older children and adults, as small children can be a bit much for me. As a bonus, I am already crate trained and will use potty pads if I have to, but would rather race you to the door to do my business outside like a true gentleman. I can't wait to meet you and show you how great life can be with a sweet old fellow like me!

Story
*** AVAILABLE ON-SITE ONLY FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS *** Lavian is a sweet little white chihuahua with major cuddle-bug energy. She loves long naps curled up in a lap, but every so often she’ll surprise you by relocating to the top of the couch—cat-style—to keep an eye on her kingdom. Lavian is still learning the ropes when it comes to potty training and doesn’t yet seem to understand going outside. That said, she has been fairly reliable with pee pads and continues to make progress. She has a healthy appetite, and while she’s not especially motivated by most treats, she does enjoy dental chews (which everyone can appreciate!). When it comes to other animals, Lavian is great with other small dogs and would love another canine companion to snuggle with during the day. She has shown mild, appropriate communication (like a low growl) in response to large dogs enthusiastically sniffing and licking her, or a cat hissing at her. Lavian gets along well with children in the home. With slow introductions and respectful boundaries, Lavian should settle in nicely to any family lifestyle. Lavian is a petite pup with a gentle soul who will thrive in a calm, loving home that appreciates her cuddly nature, let's her burrow into your lap, and doesn’t mind sharing the couch!

Story
***AVAILABLE ON-SITE FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS ONLY*** Maria is a tiny girl who may start off a little nervous, but give her a moment (and maybe a gentle head scratch) and you’ll see her melt right into your hands. She warms up quickly to affection and absolutely lives for head pets. Once Maria trusts you, she becomes the softest, sweetest little shadow. She seems to be new to a house environment, so she’ll need a patient, loving home to help her with house training and leash training. With consistency and kindness, she’s eager to learn and bond. Maria is not your typical yappy, overprotective chihuahua — she’s gentle, tender-hearted, and would much rather snuggle than sass. Maria has a surprisingly big appetite for such a small pup — mealtime is her favorite event of the day! Treats? Yes, please. Seconds? Also yes. This girl believes in living deliciously, so she should be easy to train. Once she feels safe, she will be fiercely loyal and devoted to her person. If you’re looking for a soft, affectionate companion who just needs a little reassurance and a lot of love, Maria is ready to give you her whole tiny heart.
