Story
*** AVAILABLE ON-SITE ONLY FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS *** Say hello to this senior sweetheart, Grapevine! She is a friendly, calm girl who prefers a bit of independence rather than being held, at least for now. Lots of TLC is due her way and in time, she will continue coming out of her shell. In fact, after a week with her foster mom, she has decided that perhaps she might be learning to be a lap dog! Grapevine must not have had the kindest lot in life prior to coming to Saving Grace, as she seems to be experiencing so many new things for the first time in her foster home. She's learning about potty training, and is doing well when taken out regularly. This gal enjoys going outside for short periods of time, but seems to know to use potty pads if she can’t wait. She's a smart lady who will come to you when she wants to be picked up or to soak in some couch snuggles, and she is learning to love being loved on in her own time. She is definitely curious about her human and will follow you around the house to see what you’re up to. Crate time is no problem, as Grapevine sleeps very well in her crate and will occasionally go in just to chill and have her own quiet time. Grapevine is a lovely and loving girl who would love to find her forever home that comes with extra patience, and possibly a lower energy sibling. We heard through the grapevine that she just might be scooped up soon, so make an appointment to meet her today!

Story
*** AVAILABLE ON-SITE ONLY FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS *** Please say hello to this little lady, Lavatch, who is five whole pounds of pure love! Sweet Lavatch is crate trained and genuinely loves her little spot, so if you leave the door open and can't find her, she is probably cozied up in her crate. And she prefers a blanket in her crate because when she goes in, she will go under the blanket and curl up to take a short nap. At bedtime though, if she has it her way, she loves to snuggle under the covers in the big (human) bed and drift off fast asleep next to her people. Another skill Lavatch seems to have mastered is potty training, but a new thing she's working on is playtime, specifically learning how to play toss and fetch. It is a work in progress. And when someone knocks on your door, she makes a great guard dog. She may be small but she is mighty! And she'll love you big in return if you can find room in your heart and home to offer her a cozy place to spend her forever.

Story
**AVAILABLE ON-SITE ONLY ON FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS ** Meet Machaca! This sweet little girl will wiggle into your heart with her gentle nature. While she may seem a little unsure of new people and places, her snow foster reports that in only a few days she learns that her new people are the best and will become the best snuggle buddy! Her foster reports that she is still learning the ropes with potty training, but that as she gets in a routine, she is getting better day by day. Machaca is getting used to being on a leash and walking around outside. She can be a little unsure of new environments - all the reason to leash her up and let her see the world. While with her snow day foster, she was able to get a bath and is reported to do pretty good in a bath setting! She has also been around a larger sized dog and is reported to do well with friends. Machaca is a very sweet girl who deserves to have a family that can show her how great life can be. If you are interested in meeting Machaca, we invite you to make a Fun Size appointment!

Story
*** AVAILABLE ON-SITE ONLY FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS *** William is a cute and curious little chihuahua who is just beginning to learn how wonderful people can be. He’s on the skittish side and needs a bit of extra time to warm up to children, but with patience and gentle interactions, he will make steady progress and grows more comfortable by the hour. Once William feels safe, his soft side really shines. He enjoys snuggling on the couch and has recently discovered that curling up on a cozy blanket under a desk makes for an excellent workday companion. He is a great eater and sleeps soundly through the night in his crate for 8–9 hours. William is still working on potty training, which has been challenging during the freezing winter weather—especially since he is not a fan of the cold, even with a sweater on. He is slowly growing more comfortable walking on a leash. With warmer days, consistency, and positive reinforcement, he will continue to build confidence at his own pace. It’s clear William may not have always experienced gentle, positive treatment from humans, which makes his recent progress especially meaningful. In a short time, he has gone from a cautious observer to a loyal little shadow and a bright light on cold days. William will thrive in a patient, loving home that understands that slow trust is still real trust—and incredibly rewarding.

Story
*** AVAILABLE ON-SITE ONLY FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS *** Lavian is a sweet little white chihuahua with major cuddle-bug energy. She loves long naps curled up in a lap, but every so often she’ll surprise you by relocating to the top of the couch—cat-style—to keep an eye on her kingdom. Lavian is still learning the ropes when it comes to potty training and doesn’t yet seem to understand going outside. That said, she has been fairly reliable with pee pads and continues to make progress. She has a healthy appetite, and while she’s not especially motivated by most treats, she does enjoy dental chews (which everyone can appreciate!). When it comes to other animals, Lavian has shown mild, appropriate communication. She may give a low growl in response to a cat’s hiss, but nothing more. With large dogs, she has occasionally responded with a growl or brief teeth-bearing bark when faced with very enthusiastic sniffing or licking—understandable given her tiny size. At other times, she tolerates canine company just fine. With continued slow introductions and respectful boundaries, she should continue to settle in nicely. Lavian is a petite pup with a gentle soul who will thrive in a calm, loving home that appreciates her cuddly nature, respects her size, and maybe doesn’t mind sharing the couch—top or bottom.

Story
*** AVAILABLE ON-SITE ONLY FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS *** Sweet little Flo is gradually learning all about the good life since coming to Saving Grace! When Flo first arrived at her foster home, the world felt like a very big, very scary place. She was timid and unsure; and then she discovered the magic of a warm lap. Flo quickly selected a favorite human and now follows her around the house like the sweetest little shadow. If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick who thinks “personal space” is a myth, Flo might be your girl. Her absolute favorite hobby? Lap napping. If you sit down, Flo sees that as a formal invitation to curl up and snooze on you. Netflix, emails, scrolling your phone — whatever you’re doing is instantly better with a Flo-shaped blanket. And Flo is eagerly working on her potty training skills. She's doing well with pee pads and gets it right most of the time. She’s a smart cookie and just needs a patient family willing to keep up her training and cheer her on as she finishes learning the routine. Another of Flo's beautiful talents is that she's an A+ roommate. She's been around other dogs and a cat in her foster home and is totally cool with them. She mostly minds her own business and doesn’t cause any drama. Flo would love a patient, gentle home while she continues to build her confidence. One that enjoys having a cuddly, velcro dogs who likes to be close; and a family that appreciates a quieter, sweet soul who blossoms with love and consistency. If you’ve got an open lap and an open heart, Flo would love to be your new best friend.
