Story
Meet Mr. T: A Spirited Senior with a Sniffer That Won’t Quit! 🐾 Mr. T is a senior male chihuahua with a black and tan long-haired coat, weighing in at just 8 pounds. At 13 years old, this sweet little guy has been through more challenges than a sweet pup should ever have to endure. Despite his gentle nature and loving heart, Mr. T and his brother were surrendered to the shelter—abandoned in their golden years—because their multiple medical conditions became too much for their previous family to handle. But Mr. T hasn’t let that break his spirit. More than just your average senior chihuahua, Mr. T faces several advanced health challenges. He has significant periodontal disease, is blind, and lives with both chronic kidney disease (for which he eats a prescription renal diet) and heart disease that requires two daily medications. Despite all of this, he maintains a good quality of life and is looking for an adopter who understands the importance of preserving his medication and diet regimen. He’s not yet crate trained, as his separation anxiety—likely caused by his sensory deprivation and past losses—makes confinement difficult for him. Though he experiences occasional senior incontinence, Mr. T is wonderful on a leash and gets along beautifully with other dogs, cats, and humans of all ages. Despite it all, Mr. T is an incredibly mellow, happy, and easy-going dog. He still finds joy in the little things: daily sniffari walks, soft beds, gentle petting, warm laps, and being held close. He’s a devoted shadow who just wants to be near his person, whether it’s to nap at your side or sniff out hidden treasures on a walk. His resilience and loving nature shine through, even as his body grows frailer. Mr. T is searching for a calm, compassionate retirement home—one that understands the needs of senior dogs and wants to offer comfort, care, and love in his final chapter. He would thrive with someone home most of the time who can provide the closeness and routine he craves. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a dog who's still full of love and loyalty, Mr. T will be your devoted companion. He may not have perfect health, but he has a perfect soul—and he's ready to share it with you.

Story
Meet Fiona – 7 Pounds of Sass, Snuggles, and Pure Heart! Fiona may be tiny, but she has a larger-than-life personality that fills every room she enters. At around 4 years old and weighing just 7 pounds, this Chihuahua has already lived quite the life—but now she’s ready for her next (and best!) chapter: a forever home where she can be adored just as much as she deserves. Once a stray with a patchy coat and an empty belly, Fiona has transformed into a sassy little queen. Fiona is incredibly loving and bonds deeply with her people. She enjoys being close and will gladly cozy up next to you at every opportunity. She hasn’t been tested with kids or cats, but she gets along with other dogs—especially when she gets to be the one calling the shots. In her current foster home, she lives peacefully with a sweet Plott Hound mix and is happy to share space. Fiona has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure, which is being well managed with daily medication. She’s also just starting heartworm treatment, so she’ll need to take it easy with walks and playtime for a while. Because of her heart condition, she’s not able to undergo spay or dental procedures at this time. These decisions will depend on how her heart responds to treatment and whether anesthesia is safe for her later on. The good news? Fiona is part of our "foster-to-adopt" program, and our rescue will cover all of her medical care—including her heartworm treatment. If she finds her forever family before her treatment is complete, she’ll continue to be under our medical wing while she lives with you as a “foster.” Once she finishes treatment and is healthy enough, the adoption can be finalized! Through it all, Fiona remains happy, spirited, and full of love. She doesn’t let her diagnosis define her, and she certainly doesn’t want you to treat her any differently—unless you're offering belly rubs or soft blankets, in which case, she’s all in. Fiona's not just a dog—she's a little warrior in a tutu (figuratively, but also possibly literally if you have one), ready to dance her way into your life and heart. Fiona has a big heart—and it’s full of love, waiting just for you!

Story
Meet London! London is a sweet and independent 13-year-old Chihuahua mix looking for a calm and loving forever home. This senior gentleman enjoys the simple things in life—leisurely walks, exploring with his nose, and long, cozy naps. While London gets along with other dogs who respect his space, he’s not one for playtime and prefers to do his own thing. London is fully crate trained and house trained, making him an easy addition to the right home. He’ll do best in a patient environment where he can feel safe and comfortable at his own pace. A home without small children would be ideal for him. London is currently receiving regular medicated baths to support his skin health, as his vet isn’t sure if his hair will grow back. But don’t worry—his charm and sweet personality shine through regardless! If you’re looking for a gentle soul who will happily lounge by your side and enjoy life at a slower pace, London might be the perfect match for you! Apply to adopt London today!

Story
Meet Romeo! This little sweetheart is ready to find his forever home after being found as a stray. As a little dog in a big and sometimes scary world, Romeo is looking for a calm and confident person(s) to show him just how wonderful life can be. Romeo does best with slow introductions, but once he knows you, he's all about snuggles, tail wags, and playful moments - but mostly snuggles! Romeo also loves playing fetch and walks of any length, he's happy to help you get those steps in. He's estimated at about four years old, so he comes with just the right amount of energy, if he does say so himself. Romeo is house trained and sleeps soundly in his crate at night, though we have a strong hunch he'd prefer to sleep in bed with his person(s). He has been doing well living with a canine foster brother, but he definitely prioritizes quality time with humans. He's looking for a calm, loving home where he can feel safe, continue building trust, and share his big beart. Could you be the one to give Romeo the second chance that he deserves? Apply to adopt Romeo today!
