Story
Tito may only weigh 5.5 pounds, but he carries himself like he owns the place. At around 7 years old, he’s a chihuahua with all the classic traits: bold, expressive, energetic, and absolutely certain he deserves attention. Found as a stray with rotted teeth and skin issues from parasites, Tito bounced back with impressive attitude. He’s had a full dental cleaning with 18 extractions and is feeling dramatically better. His skin and sleek brown and white coat are now healed, and his ears are nearly there, too. Otherwise, Tito is healthy and active! Tito is what we’ll lovingly call a "firestarter". At home, he always wants attention, but also on his terms. He loves other pets and tries to initiate play constantly… unless it’s nap time, in which case he expects peace and quiet. Adding to Tito's mystique, he comes off as mellow and reserved outside of the home, whether it be for a vet appointment or socialization. He’s a tiny dog with big character: energetic, social, enigmatic, opinionated and happiest in a home that appreciates the unique allure, and occasional chaos, of chihuahuas. Tito's ideal home has other playful pets and no little kids. If you’re a chi lover who appreciates a dog that knows what he wants, and understands the balance of boundaries and spoiling, Tito will fit right in. Tito doesn’t just want a home — he wants an audience. And honestly? He deserves one.

Story
Meet Skippy! Skippy is a sweet, curious 9-year-old gentleman who proves that age is truly just a number. While he’s wonderfully calm and easygoing around the house, he still has plenty of pep in his step and enjoys getting out and about. Walks are one of his favorite activities, and he’s always up for a game of fetch or a little toy time to keep things fun. After he’s had his exercise and mental stimulation, Skippy is perfectly content to settle in for some quality relaxation. You’ll often find him lounging in a cozy dog bed or curled up on a soft blanket, soaking in the sunshine or just enjoying the calm of his surroundings. He has a naturally gentle, laid-back demeanor that makes him a lovely companion for quieter moments. Skippy is friendly and social — he does well with other dogs and is comfortable around kids, but he would also thrive as the only dog in the home if that’s the right fit. He’s adaptable, affectionate, and happiest when he’s near his people. One guaranteed way to win him over? Belly rubs. He absolutely lives for them and will gladly roll over to request more. It’s also important to know that Skippy will need a dental procedure to address his teeth, but the good news is that the rescue already has this scheduled and will cover the cost. He’ll be feeling even better in no time, ready to enjoy his golden years comfortably. Skippy would be a wonderful match for someone looking for a low-key but still playful companion — a dog who enjoys activity without needing constant stimulation, and who brings a calm, loving presence into the home. If you’re looking for a sweet senior with a big heart and the perfect balance of energy and relaxation, Skippy may be your guy 🐾

Story
Do you like your pups sweet and spicy? If so, Oreo may be the girl for you! Oreo is a precious 10 year old, four a half pound female Chihuahua in need of her forever home. Oreo is a sun-seeking snuggler and the ultimate lap dog. Tiny in size but HUGE in love, she’s happiest snuggled up close, keeping you warm and showering you with affection. Whether it’s Netflix time, coffee on the porch, or a lazy afternoon nap, she’s your perfect sidekick. Calm and loving, Oreo is ready to be your new best friend. If you’re looking for a loyal lap companion, this little lovebug is waiting just for you! Oreo also excitedly plays fetch. If you throw stuffed toys, she will chase and bring them right back to you! Oreo can sit up and beg for treats. Oreo gets along fine with the other three chihuahuas in her foster home, but does prefer the company of her foster mom over any of the other canines in the home. She is wary of men, so a female-centered family would be best for Oreo. She has not been cat tested. She would likely do fine around respectful older kids. Since she does well on a leash, she does not require a fenced yard. Oreo does not like to share her food or treats. She likes to eat in peace and quiet. When Oreo is approached by strangers or is frightened, she barks and likes to hide. She does not like to be pulled out from her hiding place but needs calm reassurance instead. Oreo would do best with an EXPERIENCED owner, someone who is patient but also firm. Oreo likes to go for short walks and enjoys all the sniffs along the way, and should get a walk daily to help regulate her nervous energy. Oreo puts herself to bed at night, snuggling right into her own little blanket. She sleeps all night long. Oreo is crate trained and can "hold it" all night. She is working on daytime potty training and is mostly successful. Oreo was spayed and had a dental in September 2025. She has been fully vetted and is up to date on her vaccinations. She is heartworm negative and takes monthly heartworm prevention. Oreo is also microchipped. Previously, Oreo was attacked by a German Shepard and suffered some broken ribs and puncture wounds. She has since healed up well from her injuries and doesn’t have any chronic medical conditions. However, due to this it is possible she may be afraid of larger dogs. Oreo’s adoption donation is $250. If you are interested in the above dog, please do not email us and tell us that you are interested, but submit an adoption application. The link for the application is below. Story
I recently adopted Luis, and within the short time he has been in my home I’ve noticed that he has a significant fear of children. He becomes very anxious around them, although he is otherwise an excellent dog. In addition, it appears that my child may be having an allergic reaction to him. Aside from his fear of children, Luis has been wonderful, he sleeps through the night, is crate-trained, walks well on a leash, and has shown no signs of aggression. He just seems to be insecure around children.
