Story
Meet Bobbi—also known as Bob, Bob-Bob, Bobbi Jo, and the adorable “Bobbi Go-Go” (courtesy of a 4-year-old who couldn’t quite say the J sound) Bobbi is an approximately 13-year-old Chihuahua weighing in at a petite 11 pounds, and she would like everyone to know that age is just a number. Sure, she’s a senior—but she still has opinions, personality, and plenty of love left to give. Bobbi is a sweet little girl who needs a calm, quiet home where she can feel safe and settled. She can be fearful of new people and situations at first, so patience and understanding go a long way with her. Once she trusts you, though, she becomes a loyal little companion who just wants to be near her people. She would do best in an adult-only home without children. Bobbi gets along with other dogs just fine, but too much excitement can cause her to cough, so she would be happiest as the only dog in the home where life can stay peaceful and low-key. She does okay with cats and is respectful of calm feline friends. Bobbi’s greatest passion in life? Stuffies. She absolutely loves stuffed toys and takes her collection very seriously. She also enjoys going outside, gentle play, chewing on antlers, and any activity that might involve snacks. If food is involved, Bobbi is immediately interested. What Bobbi needs most is someone willing to let her move at her own pace and enjoy her golden years in comfort and peace. In return, you’ll get a tiny best friend with a tender heart, funny little quirks, and an undeniable love for the simple things in life. If your idea of happiness is sharing your home with a quiet little shadow carrying around a stuffed toy, Bobbi might just be your perfect match. Bobbi requires a fenced in yard within a hour of Toledo, Oh. *If you do not meet the requirements listed for this dog, we are not obligated to respond to your application. Story
Meet Punkin Don’t let the tiny size fool you, Punkin has a big personality packed into her little 2-year-old Chihuahua body. This sweet girl loves being close to her people and will happily claim the coziest spot on the couch (or your lap!) as her throne. Her expressive little face and adorable ears make it impossible not to smile when she’s around. If you’re looking for a tiny best friend with a big heart, Punkin might just be your girl. Punkin lives with another dog and cat in her foster home. We are unsure how she will do around kids because she has not been exposed to them yet. Punkin will require a family with a fenced in yard within 45 miles of Toledo, Ohio. *If you do not meet the requirements listed for this dog, we are not obligated to respond to your application. Story
Hi, my name is Chica. I am roughly a one to two-year-old Dachshund Chihuahua mix. My foster mom says she's proud of me for a lot of reasons. For example, I like new people after I meet them for a few minutes, I am quiet - I hardly ever bark or whine except when my foster cats won't play with me. I only go potty outside and do well in my crate. I sit real still when I'm asked to and when I'm getting my leash on and off. I enjoy playing fetch and with all kinds of toys! Although I have a lot of good manners, I am still young and working to be the best girl I can be. There are a couple of things that make me nervous, big dogs I don't know and strangers outside, but I'm trying to be brave. I would love to find a family to play and cuddle with me. Adopters should be within an hour of Toledo, Ohio. *If you do not meet the requirements listed for this dog, we are not obligated to respond to your application. due to high volume, inquiries made on petfinder and adoptapet will not be answered. Story
Meet Cleo! Cleo is a 10-year-old Chihuahua–Miniature Pinscher mix weighing about 12 pounds — the perfect little companion for your lap and your heart. This sweet girl was surrendered to our local shelter and is now safe in foster care, waiting patiently for her forever home. Cleo is a total lovebug who just wants to be cuddled and adored. She listens well, loves to snuggle in your lap, and has a calm, gentle nature that makes her a joy to have around. She currently lives with other dogs and does very well with them. She hasn’t lived with cats or children, so we’re not sure how she would do, but her sweet temperament suggests she might adjust well with proper introductions. Cleo is a smart little lady who already knows a few commands such as “come,” “no,” and “leave it.” She hasn’t used a crate in her foster home and has had very few potty accidents — she’s doing great with her house manners! Cleo would fit beautifully in almost any home — whether you’re a single person looking for a loyal companion or a family wanting a gentle, affectionate addition. She can be a little vocal when meeting new people (she likes to say hello in her own way!) but quickly warms up once she knows she’s among friends. Although a fenced yard is preferred, it’s not a dealbreaker for this little lady — what she really needs is someone who will love her, keep her safe, and make her feel like part of the family. If you’re looking for a loyal little sweetheart to share your days and your couch with, Cleo is ready to steal your heart and snuggle right into your life. ?? She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations microchipped and is a up-to-date on monthly flea/ tick and heartworm prevention. Her fee is $150 Follow the link below for the adoption application. Please note: all applicants must live within one hour of Toledo, Ohio. http://www.dogworksohio.com/adoption-application.html

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Smithers, and his sister Jenny, are adorable Shiba Chi puppies.  They are happy, bouncy pups with personalities to keep you entertained.  Both are doing great with potty training and crate training.  Both have been residing with cats, big dogs and small dogs, even goats and chickens, have done well with all of the animals. mom was a Chi and Dad was a Shiba Inu / Chi mix. They are waiting for their next adventure with the adoptive family...could that be yours. Jenny and Smithers had their first vet visit and received appropriate vaccines and microchips.   Happy Days Dog & Cat Rescue requires a Spay/Neuter Contract by the adopter if puppies and kittens in our care are too young for sterilization at the time of adoption. This is a form the adopter signs at the time of adoption, confirming that they will get the pet spayed/neutered by a certain date. HDDCR holds a deposit [$50 for dogs, $25 for cats] in addition to the adoption fee until we receive proof from a veterinarian that the dog or cat was spayed/neutered by the date stipulated on the Spay/Neuter Contract. The deposit will be refunded to the adopter if spay/neuter was done according to the Spay/Neuter Contract signed by the adopter. Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The microchip is transferred to the adopter once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a one-time $15 microchip enrollment fee, paid at the time of adoption.  Microchips are enrolled with AKC Reunite.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Tuesday!  This little cutie is a 17-pound Chihuahua mix.  She is a spunky little pup that  loves to play fetch, bones that are bigger than she is, and kids; although she is skittish initially when meeting new people. She likes toys, taking naps, long walks, and sleeping in your bed! She is crate trained but only when left alone at home. She does not like to be left alone for long periods of time so would not be a good fit for someone who works all day. It is reported she does not like dog parks because it takes her a long time to warm up to other dogs. Tuesday may do best as an only dog, or possibly with another dog her size after slow and appropriate introductions. Tuesday is UTD on vaccines and already spayed.  She will be microchipped before going to her adoptive home. If you are looking for a little cuddle-bug, Tuesday may just be the one for you!     Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue.
