Story
Sweet dog needs a lot of attention probably someone who can be home all the time with her or can take her where they go. Not the best with pottying outside but will use a puppy pad. Good with my niece when she visits. Haven’t tested with cats. She loves to cuddle and is super playful with toys and loves to tug. Overall sweetheart of a dog.

Story
Meet Cleo! Cleo is a 10-year-old Chihuahua–Miniature Pinscher mix weighing about 12 pounds — the perfect little companion for your lap and your heart. This sweet girl was surrendered to our local shelter and is now safe in foster care, waiting patiently for her forever home. Cleo is a total lovebug who just wants to be cuddled and adored. She listens well, loves to snuggle in your lap, and has a calm, gentle nature that makes her a joy to have around. She currently lives with other dogs and does very well with them. She hasn’t lived with cats or children, so we’re not sure how she would do, but her sweet temperament suggests she might adjust well with proper introductions. Cleo is a smart little lady who already knows a few commands such as “come,” “no,” and “leave it.” She hasn’t used a crate in her foster home and has had very few potty accidents — she’s doing great with her house manners! Cleo would fit beautifully in almost any home — whether you’re a single person looking for a loyal companion or a family wanting a gentle, affectionate addition. She can be a little vocal when meeting new people (she likes to say hello in her own way!) but quickly warms up once she knows she’s among friends. Although a fenced yard is preferred, it’s not a dealbreaker for this little lady — what she really needs is someone who will love her, keep her safe, and make her feel like part of the family. If you’re looking for a loyal little sweetheart to share your days and your couch with, Cleo is ready to steal your heart and snuggle right into your life. ?? She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations microchipped and is a up-to-date on monthly flea/ tick and heartworm prevention. Her fee is $150 Follow the link below for the adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Meet Gretel! Gretel is a hilarious, adorable, and endlessly entertaining 2-year-old pup who’s still figuring out grown-up dog life. She may look mature, but her puppy energy shines through in everything she does—she loves to zoom around, play, and happily shower anyone she trusts with hugs and kisses. Gretel is still mastering her house manners and would thrive with some consistent training. She uses potty pads in her foster home and is already making great progress. She gets along well with the other dogs in her house but won’t hesitate to stand up for herself—especially when provoked by her foster home’s feisty 5-pound yorkie! Gretel would love a playful canine companion but would also be perfectly content as the only dog in the home. While she can be shy or nervous in new situations, Gretel quickly warms up and becomes the life of the party. She loves squeaky toys, cozy naps on the couch beside her people, and of course—food. Gretel is small (15lbs) but exuberant and tends to jump when she’s excited, so a home without young children (under 6) would be best. She hasn’t been tested with cats. We’re not quite sure of her breed mix, but Gretel’s coat is soft, low-shedding, and doesn’t need regular trimming. She may take a little time to trust, but once she feels safe, you’ll discover her incredibly sweet, silly personality that brings joy every day.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. December 8, 2025, 1:40 pm
