Please apply online at http://texasgreatdane.org/adoption-application/ ** Zizzle is an affectionate 9 pound Chihuahua and Terrier mix. She is great with her foster mom but is afraid of strangers. Since we were told she is fearful, her foster mom brought her home from transport in her crate. Once home the crate door was left open and Zizzle soon approached her new foster mom and wanted to be held. She wants to be in her lap as much as possible and to sleep next to her. She will need to go to a stable, relatively quiet home in order to be happy and feel secure. We are guessing her age to be around 6 years old as she prefers cuddle time to play time. If you want a companion for spending time tv watching or just hanging out, she would be a great sidekick. She is potty trained (can use a dog door), quiet, and gets along with other dogs. (She really does appreciate having a pee pad available for the times she doesn't want to go outside or when you are too busy to take her!) When she feels safe, she is so laid back that she would probably be fine with cats too. Just give her a little time to trust you and you will have such a loving companion. Please understand you are committing to providing a good home for her entire life (up to 15+ years or more.) You must be committed to housebreaking, age-appropriate enrichment and exercise, leash training, grooming needs, and positive socialization. Her adoption fee is $250. This includes her spay surgery, rabies vaccination, Nobivac® Canine 1-DAPP vaccination, Nobivac® Intra-Trac 3 vaccination, Drontal® Plus, IDEXX SNAP® 4Dx Plus Test, Tri-Heart® Plus chewable tablet, 24PetWatch® microchip, and leash and collar. Our adoption events are some Saturdays at Petco located in the Northwoods Shopping Center at 18138 San Pedro Ave, San Antonio TX 78232. Our group focuses on assisting open admission shelters in South Texas where over 32,000 dogs and cats are euthanized each year. Our puppies and dogs are completely vetted and live in foster homes. They are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and tested for heartworm disease. All adoptions include one month of flea and heartworm preventative and a leash and collar.
