At no fault of mine I was surrendered to Oakdale Tiny Paws Rescue due to my human sibling getting a severe allergic reaction to me. I am a chiweenie mix and I get along with the kiddos. I can get protective of my food and other toys when there are other dogs, but I do love playing with other dogs though. I just need to be fed separately from them. Having a sibling that is not dominant would be best. I do pretty well on going potty outside as long as you don’t leave me inside for long periods. I love lots of attention and laying on your lap or next to you. Just waiting for that right person to take me home. I am up to date on my age-appropriate vaccines, I’m microchipped, and spayed. Georgie is a sweet dog we adopted as a little puppy boy. He has been good with kids cats and most other dogs(especially older doggies). But he is neutered. Georgie would best fit a family without allergies and who has a couple of energetic children that need someone to play with. He is also a great alarm system no one is gonna come without you knowing and he loves the yard. Georgie grew up as an outside dog in a medium sized yard and was great for the kids to get some energy out by running around the block with him. Thankfully, a kind Good Samaritan rescued them and brought them to safety at AFC. Now, Corbin is ready to leave his rough start behind and find a forever home filled with love. As a young puppy, Corbin will need guidance with house training and will require leash training once he’s fully vaccinated. She is the epitome of a darling little old lady, and she is ready to spend her golden years being spoiled like the little princess she is. Emma currently weighs about 8lbs. Emma came to us after she was at risk of euthanasia at a NorCal animal shelter. When she was examined for her spay surgery, they discovered she had a heart condition called P atent Ductus Arteriosus. She needed surgery, but the shelter was unable to provide it. We were so grateful that a generous donor stepped up to cover the costs of her surgery. She is now cured from her heart condition and ready to find her fur-ever home! Emma is a mellow gal who enjoys the simple things in life: tasty food, cuddles, and sunbathing. She is a true lap dog who can typically be found cuddling in someone's lap. She thrives on being the center of attention and would be a great little buddy for a retired person or couple who needs a low-energy companion. She enjoys her short walks, but is way more interested in being cozy at home. Emma has done well living with other small, mellow dogs. She definitely would love being the only dog, but she has learned how to share the spotlight. Emma has done well living with cats. Due to her fragile size, Emma would do best in an adult-only home or with respectful kids over 12 years old. Emma has been doing great with her housetraining, but may have a few accidents while she is acclimating to a new home and routine. She has done very well being crated or free roaming when left home alone for short periods. She is happy to sleep in her crate or in bed with you if you let her. Emma could do well living in an apartment. She is your typical Chihuahua who likes to act like your personal alarm system when someone is at the door. Emma has a few health concerns, including dental disease. She will need a dental cleaning and some extractions in her new home. She has luxating patellas in both knees, but doesn't require any treatment at this time. Emma's heart condition doesn't require any treatment since she had her surgery. Emma has been through a lot, and she deserves a great family to shower her with love. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. Summer is 6 years old and was born in Texas. She was an incredibly shy and scared puppy when I first met her. But after many months caring for and feeling comfortable she became a very loving and loyal dog with more confidence. She gets scared around new places and people, but once she feels safe she is very relaxed and loves giving puppy kisses. She likes going for walks and playing with her toys and likes to have someone to keep her company.

Autumn is 11 years old, born in Louisiana. She is one of the sweetest animals I’ve ever known. She loves attention and playing. She knows basic command: sit, down, kennel, paw. When she was 2 years old she ate a toy and needed surgery to remove. This caused sepsis and so she has scars on her sides and 17 inches of her small intestine removed. Otherwise she has been very healthy her whole life and full of energy and love.
