Story
Cotton's engaging and sweet nature is just waiting to be enjoyed and appreciated. She is such a wonderful being. We think she represents the best qualities of both the Chihuahua and Italian Greyhound breeds. At just about 2 - 3 years old and and a tiny 5 lbs Cotton is the perfect size for neighborhood strolls (once comfortable in her environment), car rides to dog-friendly destinations or fun backyard play. All would speak to Cotton's love of coming along and being with her family. She would love nothing more than to spend a day of play and walks followed by crashing on the couch for belly rubs and snuggles all night long. Cotton will initially be shy and a bit frightened due to all the changes in her life. Once comfortable and past her fears, Cotton will become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please. The happier her family is with her behavior, the more she shines with her accomplishments. We would love to see sweet Cotton in a home that includes her in family time and activities. She's loving and as sweet as can be and will thrive in a dog-loving and very nurturing environment. Cotton will be a wonderful companion for active retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with an adorable pup. Our sweet girl will initially be frightened (after her experience at a scary shelter and on a long transport, she needs time and patience to come out of her shell) but some kind words, a loving hug and a yummy treat, and Cotton falls deeply in love. Cotton doesn't require another dog to be happy. She loves her people dearly and if they're attentive and loving, this sweet and loyal girl will be fulfilled and very happy. If a gentle dog is already part of the family, that's great with Cotton as well. She enjoys her time spent in the company of a canine and that dog will become Cotton's best friend. Cotton will do well with any loving guardian who's invested in spending time with their pup. She's so pleasant and portable that she can be a part of any adventure. It can be a leisurely walk socializing with neighbors, a picnic in the park or a visit with family or friends. A car ride is also always great, especially if it leads to a fun, dog-loving spot. At day's end, a spot on the bed all night beside her favorite humans will speak to the loving nature of this tiny dog. Cotton's Texas rescuer had the following to say about our sweet pup: Cotton is a one of a kind special girl. She is so full of sweet energy and is as happy as can be once she's comfortable in her environment. Miss Cotton had a difficult start in life and is now understanding more each day that she's a wonderful being. I can see her self-esteem growing stronger each day. It's truly a joy to observe! Farfel's Rescue feels very strongly that every dog deserves the opportunity for formal, positive reinforcement / force-free training classes that are virtual or in-person. We therefore aren't willing to adopt Cotton out to a home that doesn't choose to offer her this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved positive reinforcement / force-free virtual and in-person trainers in your area. Cotton will be up to date on her vetting / vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. She has also been spayed to support our hopes for a future of zero population growth in the canine population. Cotton will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Saturday 1/31/2026. Adoption applications are currently being accepted for this sweet and cuddly best friend. An app can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Cotton, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Story
** If you are interested in adopting Kyle, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Kyle is an adorable, 3 year old, 8 lb Chihuahua mix with a friendly, and super sweet personality. This little guy was found walking through a neighborhood in New Mexico. When they scanned him for a microchip and found his owner, his owner said "eh, keep him." and so Kyle sat in the shelter, confused and waiting for his owner who never came for him. Now, Kyle is coming to Colorado to find a forever family who will never leave him behind ever again! Kyle has shown himself to have the silliest personality! He is friendly, happy, great with people and great with other dogs. From Kyle's foster: "Kyle is a big time snuggler, loves leash walks and other dogs, and is eating well and playing with a lot of toys! He does great with our dog. He is great with all 3 of us in the home (me, my husband, and our adult daughter) and he really hasn't chosen a favorite! He follows and cuddles us all equally. He loves to be held. He is always wagging his tail! I think he is potty trained. We've only had him a few days so far though." Kyle is up to date on his vaccinations, has been fully vetted, is healthy, heartworm negative, and is neutered. Farfel's Rescue and our New Mexico rescue partners would love to see Kyle in a home with an individual, family (older kids are preferred so there's no tail-pulling or awkward handling) or active retirees who have the time and love for a very loyal and sweet dog. We'd hate to see him left alone all day while his family works full-time outside of the home, as he is much too social for that type of arrangement. We'd like to place Kyle in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and love. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup. If interested in this gorgeous, very cuddly/sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com.
