Dexter is a 4-year-old Chihuahua/Dachshund (chi-weenie) mix weighing approximately 26 pounds. He came to us when his owner died and he was being kept in a tiny cage. He is timid but has come a long way. He loves to play tug of war and he is very strong. He gets along with the other dogs but has not been cat or kid-tested. He is friendly and lovable when he gets to know you. His adoption donation is $250 which includes his neuter, vaccinations, and microchip. He is heartworm-negative and on monthly prevention. Luke is a lover boy whose never met a stranger.Luke came into our lives almost 2 years ago after my father passed away unexpectedly. He was only 2 years old at the time but was never trained. We taught him all the basic dog tricks (sit, stay, roll over, paw, etc.), how to walk on a leash, how to be gentle, and how to treat his crate as his bedroom.Luke currently lives with 2 cats who enjoy cuddling and grooming him, is great with kids and has previously lived with them, and has multiple dog friends that he visits on occasion. He is playful, extremely affectionate, smart, and a little lazy. He loves running on the beach, a chill day on the couch, and bird watching (and chasing).We truly hoped that Luke was going to be a permanent part of our home, but apartment life isn't for sweet Luke, and we cannot give him what he needs between finances and time. He is in need of a home with a yard for him to run and play in, reactivity training, long walks, and lots and lots of love.
