Daisy is a 4 year old Chiweenie (Chihuahua Dachshund) weighing 8 pounds. She is beautiful with her gorgeous brown/white coat and her big brown eyes. She gets along well with the other dogs and cats. She has not been kid-tested. She is very affectionate and will stick to her owner like Velcro. She is house trained although we never guarantee that. Her adoption donation is $350 which includes her spay, vaccinations, microchip. She is heartworm negative and on monthly prevention. She is in a foster home and we are requesting an approved application prior to a meet and greet. Dexter is a 4-year-old Chihuahua/Dachshund (chi-weenie) mix weighing approximately 26 pounds. He came to us when his owner died and he was being kept in a tiny cage. He is timid but has come a long way. He loves to play tug of war and he is very strong. He gets along with the other dogs but has not been cat or kid-tested. He is friendly and lovable when he gets to know you. His adoption donation is $250 which includes his neuter, vaccinations, and microchip. He is heartworm-negative and on monthly prevention. Story
We adopted Molly when she needed to be rehomed because her owner was relocating out of state and could not bring her. She is approximately 5 years old. The first 2 years of her life she was kept outside and was not given much attention. Despite her beginnings in isolation she is very loving and really enjoys her adult humans. She loves to be held and cuddled. She is dog friendly but does not take too well to small children. She loves treats and fluffy blankets but does not have any interest in toys. We are looking to rehome her now because we have a young child and Molly isn’t very friendly (has snapped at and bitten) with her and is not a good fit for our family in this season of our life.

Story
Kennedy is a unique and resilient pup who’s still figuring out how to trust. He’s had a rough start, but underneath his uncertainty is a dog who truly wants love—he just needs patience and the right approach. This guy is house-trained (no accidents here!) and crate-trained, settling in without complaint at night. He also does well in a playpen when left alone for short periods. He loves his toys, especially Nylabones and balls, but can be a little possessive with them. Kennedy enjoys being near his people - he follows them from room to room, wags his tail to show his feelings, and even gives kisses. He may ask for affection by bumping against you or jumping in your lap but then growl or nip when actually petted. Kennedy knows "come" and "sit", but treats (especially chicken!) help him stay engaged. He’s leash-reactive when it comes to putting it on or taking it off, especially around his neck, but once he’s walking, he does well - though 15 minutes is his max before he’s exhausted. He clearly has a history of being fed from the table and will wait at mealtime for a better offer- but don’t fall for it! Kennedy needs an experienced, patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. His ideal home is one where: He can continue learning boundaries in a structured environment, touch and handling are approached with patience and care, he has a predictable routine and a safe space to retreat when needed, and he’s allowed to bond at his own pace - on his terms PLEASE NOTE: All your current pets must be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention to adopt from Polka Dogz.
