Story
My name is Bob! I am 70 lbs and a settled in adult at 5 years old. I am in need of a new home. I am a stunning Chow/Shepherd/Lab mix. If you are looking for a true companion that is easy, trustworthy and ready to go, I am really it. Really! I am a fantastic dog. I am housebroken, free roaming and well-behaved in my home. I love people and I love kids. I have lived with school-aged kids for most of my life and have interacted with younger kids many times too. I really enjoy them. I am good with dogs. I have mostly lived with dogs smaller than myself. I could easily live as an only in my home or with a nice mild mannered companion like myself. I walk well on leash, enjoy the beach and strolling in my neighborhood. I still love to get some exercise but medium energy at my age. I can totally lounge and I am as loyal as they come. We are unsure about cats. I am located in NJ and would love to meet you. Here is a link to the application: https://www.zivadogrescue.org/adoptable-dogs

Story
Fiona is a beautiful 9-year-old Chow Chow mix with the softest, fluffiest coat and an even sweeter personality. This lovely dog enjoys taking life at her own pace and is happiest exploring the world one sniff at a time. On walks, you`ll usually find her following her nose, taking in all the exciting scents around her. Fiona already knows sit and paw, and she`s always happy to show off her manners for a treat or a little praise. While she`s affectionate and gentle, she also has an independent side that makes her an easygoing companion. Whether you`re looking for a laid-back walking buddy or a fluffy best friend to share your days with, Fiona is ready to fill that role. Story
Meet Johnny Appleseed: The Silliest & Most Adorable, Fluffy Pup!  Johnny Appleseed has had a rough start to life, spending five long years chained to a corner of a factory, enduring harsh weather conditions without proper care. Despite this, he has retained a heart of gold and a resilient spirit. Rescued from this unfortunate situation, Johnny is now on the path to recovery. He's undergoing treatment for heartworms, and his health is steadily improving. With the love and care he deserves, Johnny's future looks brighter by the day. This resilient pup has a curious nature and an undeniable fondness for toys and treats. His cleverness shines through in his ability to learn and follow commands well. Johnny is a gentle soul who enjoys the company of people and forms strong bonds easily. However, it's important to note that Johnny is more comfortable as the only male dog in the household. He has a tendency to chase and become aggressive towards cats, so a feline-free environment would suit him best. Despite these specific needs, Johnny is a delight to be around with his well-mannered behavior and basic training. Johnny Appleseed takes grooming in stride; he's accustomed to baths and brushing, and while he does shed moderately, it's nothing a good brushing can't manage. He isn't one to bark or howl excessively, preferring a peaceful environment. He may become anxious and restless if confined to a small space for extended periods. If you're looking for a loyal companion who has a heart full of love and resilience, Johnny Appleseed might just be the perfect match for you. Come meet this wonderful dog and give him the forever home he deserves, filled with love, care, and plenty of room to explore and thrive. -- ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs. Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States. ##1916436##

Story
Hawthorne - 1 year, 49lbs, Chow/Retriever Mix, Neutered  This dog is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org Level of dog ownership experience required:INTERMEDIATE – This dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.) Energy level:MEDIUM – Needs a daily 60-90 minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Okay in the city?We don’t know yet because this pup is brand new to us. Most adult dogs do well in the city after they’ve had time to adjust to a new environment, but some never adapt and need homes in the burbs.  Potty trained?Probably! Adults usually are, but all will have transitional accidents for the first week or so. A consistent walking route and schedule plus finding spots with grass or dirt can help. Social with other dogs?Yes, but we don’t know to what degree yet. Some like to wrestle with every passing pup, others can coexist well but prefer to keep to themselves. We’ll learn more soon. Social with cats? Not sure yet! Some breed mixes that are generally NOT great matches for homes with cats include large hounds, huskies, and shepherds.  Comfortable with children?  (ALWAYS requires adult supervision)We’re not sure yet, but we try to err on the side of caution. Respectful kids ages 8 and up are probably a safe bet. Children must always be monitored and taught to interact with dogs of any age carefully.  Medical status:Healthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm tested if coming from Tennessee or Puerto Rico; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intakeHow did this dog end up with Social Tees? Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Los Angeles, and Puerto Rico. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses. This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. LEARN MORE ABOUT US: socialteesnyc.org and Instagram @socialteesnyc ##2827195##

Story
Writing this is one of the hardest things I have ever done. Milo is my best friend I am his person. He one of the strongest relationships I have ever had. Milo will be 7 in December. Before my first child was born, he had training and responded very well to positive reinforcement, especially with walks. He is loving, loyal, and deeply devoted with the people he trusts. Milo is also a sensitive, fearful dog who can be reactive in new situations and with new people. He needs an experienced adopter who understands fearful behavior and can provide patience, structure, and careful management. He has shown aggression toward children and cannot live with children or smaller pets, including smaller dogs. New adults must be introduced slowly and in a controlled setting. He does best being separated whenever company is visiting. Now that I have kids, I can no longer give him the comfortable environment he deserves. I’m hoping to find an experienced adopter who is ready for his loyalty
