Story
Meet Johnny Appleseed: The Silliest & Most Adorable, Fluffy Pup!  Johnny Appleseed has had a rough start to life, spending five long years chained to a corner of a factory, enduring harsh weather conditions without proper care. Despite this, he has retained a heart of gold and a resilient spirit. Rescued from this unfortunate situation, Johnny is now on the path to recovery. He's undergoing treatment for heartworms, and his health is steadily improving. With the love and care he deserves, Johnny's future looks brighter by the day. This resilient pup has a curious nature and an undeniable fondness for toys and treats. His cleverness shines through in his ability to learn and follow commands well. Johnny is a gentle soul who enjoys the company of people and forms strong bonds easily. However, it's important to note that Johnny is more comfortable as the only male dog in the household. He has a tendency to chase and become aggressive towards cats, so a feline-free environment would suit him best. Despite these specific needs, Johnny is a delight to be around with his well-mannered behavior and basic training. Johnny Appleseed takes grooming in stride; he's accustomed to baths and brushing, and while he does shed moderately, it's nothing a good brushing can't manage. He isn't one to bark or howl excessively, preferring a peaceful environment. He may become anxious and restless if confined to a small space for extended periods. If you're looking for a loyal companion who has a heart full of love and resilience, Johnny Appleseed might just be the perfect match for you. Come meet this wonderful dog and give him the forever home he deserves, filled with love, care, and plenty of room to explore and thrive. -- ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs. Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States. ##1916436##

Story
Pay no attention to breed here….Ms. Beary is a mix of so many breeds - we stopped counting at 15 breeds so we just say she the best of ALL the breeds! Ms. Beary Berries is 75 lbs, and about 5 years old. She is crate trained and house-trained. She also walks well on the leash. She is great with people and with children. Beary is very bonded to her daughter, Blue Berries however she is dog selective otherwise. She tends to be an Alpha and her reaction to other dogs depends more on their dominance. For this reason it would be best if the Berries were the only two dogs in their home. Ms. Beary is part of a bonded pair so she will need to stick her with her daughter Blue Berry. She is a similar size and is listed for adoption as well. Interested in becoming a forever home for Beary Berries? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws . We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting. For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
Meet Blue - the second part of the dynamic duo of Beary Berries and Blue Berry! Blue is about 75 lbs and is a mix of so many breeds we lost count! She is doing great with her house breaking and is great with kids, people and other dogs. She still needs to learn to walk on leash but has such great recall that she will come when called so a fenced in yard, or some acreage will be just fine! Please note that Blue MUST be adopted with her mom, Beary Berries. Interested in becoming a forever home for Blue ? Adogs urgently rescued him because we couldn't leave him behind in a shelter environment where he was lonely and vulnerable to infectious diseases. 3⃣ Personality & Characteristics * Interaction with People: Is shy and tends to keep his distance. Flinches when touched because he is unfamiliar with physical contact, but once he gets to know someone, he can be held and petted. * Interaction with Dogs: Gets along well with his roommate at the center. We plan to introduce him to more friends gradually. * Interaction with Cats: Has not encountered any cats yet. * Separation Anxiety: Stays calm by himself in his kennel. Once in a home environment, training will be needed from the start. * Potty Training: Currently uses indoor pads at the center. * Grooming/Hygiene: No experience with hygiene management (nail clips, bathing, etc.) yet. * Walking/Leash Training: Finds walks very unfamiliar and requires training. * Car Sickness: No signs of motion sickness during short-distance trips. * Biting/Mouthiness: Avoids contact and gets nervous, but does not show aggression. However, caution is needed as he may show defensive nipping if a stranger tries to grab him suddenly. * Barking: Hasn't shown any barking or whining. Training may be necessary once he transitions to a home. * Dislikes: Avoids people and feels uncomfortable in cornered situations or when someone tries to force physical contact. * Overall Personality: Is fearful and cautious. Needs a family that can take things slow and build trust over time.
