🖤 THADDEUS NEEDS A HERO 🖤 Thaddeus has clearly been through some tough times. Found as a stray, he arrived underweight and carrying a few mats in his coat, but none of that has dimmed his bright spirit or loving heart. This handsome boy is everything you could want in a companion—sweet, affectionate, and eager to soak up every bit of attention he can get. Despite whatever hardships he’s faced, Thaddeus greets people with kindness and a hopeful smile, as if he’s still believing his best days are ahead of him. It’s easy to see that all he wants is a family to call his own. A warm bed, regular meals, gentle hands, and someone to love him forever. In return, he’ll offer loyalty, companionship, and a heart overflowing with gratitude. No dog should have to fend for themselves, especially one as loving as Thaddeus. He’s ready to leave his stray days behind and start the life he’s always deserved. ❤️ Please help Thaddeus find the happy ending he’s been waiting for. 🐾 Sweet • Affectionate • Gentle • Ready for a Fresh Start 🏡 A family is all Thaddeus needs to truly shine. He does not really tug or pull, he takes his time and likes to sniff everything. He is a little bit aloof, he seemed very content to just enjoy sitting outside smelling the fresh air. He was very chill! He was fine when I first approached him from the side to pet, and he let me pet him for a bit. I started near his ear and worked down his back. He did not seem to enjoy pets as much as other dogs so I respected when he got up. But then toward the end of our time in the yard he did give me a warning snap, when I approached from the front to pet the side of his head by his ear, and I backed off completely. There was no growling or aggressive noises, he just clacked his jaws together to snap. He was fine walking back to his kennel, too. Per staff 6/7, Behavioral Eval: Kennel Presentation: Laying in the back side of his kennel when I approached. I called his name and he slowly got up then came to the front. Leash Skills: Slightly dodged the leash. Once leashed he came right out and walked on a loose leash. Sociability: He can be flinchy with movements. Go slow and use meatballs or pepperoni. I was able to gently pet his chest and down his side. Play: n/a Dog Interaction: Met zippy. Tolerant of her puppy energy. Return to Kennel: Went right back into the kennel and I removed leash with hand. Color Level: Exp Gold ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. Story
Meet Johnny Appleseed: The Silliest & Most Adorable, Fluffy Pup!  Johnny Appleseed has had a rough start to life, spending five long years chained to a corner of a factory, enduring harsh weather conditions without proper care. Despite this, he has retained a heart of gold and a resilient spirit. Rescued from this unfortunate situation, Johnny is now on the path to recovery. He's undergoing treatment for heartworms, and his health is steadily improving. With the love and care he deserves, Johnny's future looks brighter by the day. This resilient pup has a curious nature and an undeniable fondness for toys and treats. His cleverness shines through in his ability to learn and follow commands well. Johnny is a gentle soul who enjoys the company of people and forms strong bonds easily. However, it's important to note that Johnny is more comfortable as the only male dog in the household. He has a tendency to chase and become aggressive towards cats, so a feline-free environment would suit him best. Despite these specific needs, Johnny is a delight to be around with his well-mannered behavior and basic training. Johnny Appleseed takes grooming in stride; he's accustomed to baths and brushing, and while he does shed moderately, it's nothing a good brushing can't manage. He isn't one to bark or howl excessively, preferring a peaceful environment. He may become anxious and restless if confined to a small space for extended periods. If you're looking for a loyal companion who has a heart full of love and resilience, Johnny Appleseed might just be the perfect match for you. Come meet this wonderful dog and give him the forever home he deserves, filled with love, care, and plenty of room to explore and thrive. -- ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs. Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States. ##1916436##

Story
Meet Grace—affectionately known as Gracie. Gracie is a mostly independent girl who does take time to trust new people, but once you’re “in”, you’ll know it. She enjoys affection, but it is always on her terms, and she has just the right amount of spunky sass—earning her the nickname “huffy puffy” when she’s feeling extra expressive. She absolutely adores other dogs and thrives in their company. While she gets along well with all pups, she tends to form the closest bonds with females. A friendly, confident canine companion would be an ideal match to help her continue building trust and self-assurance. Naturally submissive, Gracie takes comfort in following a trusted lead—whether human or canine—and blossoms in environments that offer gentle structure and positive reinforcement. She LOVES to be outside and is happiest when she is able to be outside - enjoying a mix of sunbathing, running and playing. Gracie will likely always be a skeptical girl when it comes to trusting new people, so she’s looking for a lifestyle that is more laid back and won’t force her to be friends with every visitor that comes over. She warms up slowly and does best when given space, time, and a calm approach. Once she feels safe, she looks to her humans and furry friends for cues and guidance. Because she’s a follower by nature, she needs a patient, confident adopter who can provide consistent leadership in a soothing, structured environment. Gracie doesn’t enjoy being crated and would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time. While she is crate trained and manages when necessary, she’s happiest when included in the rhythm of everyday life. She currently lives peacefully with two respectful teenagers who understand her, but would be best suited to a quieter household without small children, as too much commotion overwhelms her and causes her sassiness to shine.  Out and about, Gracie is a dream on leash—calm, curious, and non-reactive to people or other dogs. She has a mild interest in squirrels and bunnies, but her prey drive is low. Occassionally she will pull if she is really excited - part of her “im happy we’re doing this, let’s go”. But, she is also easy to redirect. She’d love a fenced yard where she can run and explore, but it’s not essential. Gracie’s true joys include car rides (especially when she can stand tall in the middle seat with the sunroof open), cozy blankets, soft squeaky toys, and, of course, a good chew toy. She’s a little nosy, too—always keeping an eye on the neighborhood like your own furry watch committee. Gracie is tolerant for baths, fine with being picked up, and easy to groom at home.  She has  not visited a professional groomer.  Gracie is house trained with a schedule she can anticipate  and knows her basic commands - sitting beautifully when asked. This special little girl has such a big heart underneath her spunky sass (which is sort of like her emotional suit of armor). Her progress so far has been remarkable, and in the right home—with time, patience, and loving guidance—she’s going to continue to truly shine. Her smile lights up a room, and she beams with pride when she’s happy.  Gracie is fostered in Reading (Berks County), Pennsylvania and able to head to her furever home. We prefer she be adopted into a home with another dog. Gracie is in our Meet Me Program: Dogs featured in our Meet Me Program are participating simply because their foster or a dedicated volunteer is willing and able to take part—this is not based on breed, personality, behavior, or how long a dog has been waiting for a home. Because Mostly Muttz Rescue does not have a physical shelter location, this program allows adopters to connect directly with the people who know each dog best. It’s a great opportunity to ask questions, learn more about daily life with the dog, and even schedule an individual meet & greet at an approved location—either before applying or while your application is pending. To get started, email meet_me@mostlymuttz.org with your contact information, and the dog’s foster or volunteer will be in touch. www.mostlymuttz.org https://facebook.com/mostlymuttz PA Kennel License: 10872 PO Box 406 Gilbertsville, PA 19525 #mostlymuttzrescue #adopt #adoptme #sassyspunky #somuchtolove #adoptable ##2225922##

Story
Meet Oakley Oakley is a beautiful, affectionate girl looking for the right forever home where she can truly shine. At approximately 5.5 years old and weighing around 50 pounds, Oakley is a wonderful mix of playful energy and loyal companionship. This sweet girl absolutely loves her people and thrives on affection. She enjoys being pet, spending quality time with her humans, and being included in daily life. Once Oakley bonds with you, her loyalty runs deep — she’s the kind of dog who wants to be right by your side.Oakley’s favorite activities include playing fetch (she’s a big fan of a two-ball system ), tug-of-war, and long walks outdoors. She walks nicely on a leash and loves soaking up time outside, whether she’s exploring or simply relaxing near her favorite person. Oakley is house trained, up to date on all of her vaccinations, and recently had her vet care updated. She does well with toys and happily shares them, even giving them up to smaller dogs at times. Indoors, she currently lives successfully with a smaller dog and enjoys companionship, though she likes to remind everyone she’s the boss.Oakley can be a little anxious in busy or noisy environments, and small children make her nervous, so she is seeking an adult-only home with no kids where she can feel safe and comfortable. She may bark when meeting new people, but she warms up quickly and often gets excited for pets and attention (sometimes enthusiastically enough to jump up and say hello!). While Oakley has done well with one smaller dog in the home, introductions to new dogs should be slow and thoughtful. She can be reactive to other dogs on walks at times, especially if excitement is high around her. She also guards her food from other animals, so feeding separately is important. As for cats, Oakley has lived around them and has not shown aggression, but because she tends to chase and can be a bit jealous for attention, a cat-free home may be best.Oakley would thrive in a calm, patient home where she can be loved for exactly who she is — a loyal, playful, affectionate companion who just wants to feel secure and adored. She may do best as the only pet or with a dog-savvy home willing to give her time to adjust. If you’re looking for a devoted best friend to share walks, playtime, and cuddles with, Oakley might be your perfect match Apply to adopt Oakley at  bcaaofnj.orgInterested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application!
