This beautiful 6-8 year old, 23-pound Cockapoo has a soft, non-shedding coat and an even softer heart. While she may not be the life of the party, she's the kind of dog who quietly steals your heart a little more every single day.   The Sweetest Little Companion   One of Matcha's most endearing qualities is how deeply she loves her people once she trusts them. She isn't a dog who demands attention, but she absolutely enjoys it. Gentle pets, head scritches, body rubs, and paw massages are among her favorite things, and she'll happily soak up every bit of affection you offer.   And then there's her tail...   It might honestly be the happiest tail on the planet! Simply looking at Matcha is enough to get it wagging. Every morning she patiently waits beside her crate, and the moment she realizes you're awake, her tail starts thumping against the floor with pure excitement. It's impossible not to smile.   A Calm, Easygoing Girl   Matcha is a wonderfully mellow dog who enjoys a peaceful routine. She starts her mornings with a potty break around 8 a.m. before coming inside for breakfast (although she's more of a dinner enthusiast these days). She spends her days relaxing around the house, exploring the backyard, sunbathing, or keeping an eye on whatever everyone else is doing.   She isn't interested in toys or endless games of fetch. Instead, she's perfectly content lounging on the rug beside the couch or resting comfortably in her x-pen. Although dog beds and furniture are always available, she prefers finding her own cozy little spot nearby.   One of Matcha's greatest joys is rolling around in the grass! Watching her happily wiggle around outside is guaranteed to make you laugh.   A Social Butterfly...in Her Own Way   Matcha isn't what you'd call a velcro dog— she's more of a 'FOMO' dog. She simply likes knowing where everyone is and wants to be part of the action. If you walk into another room, she'll usually want to follow along. She's perfectly content when she has another dog for company. Her best friend is her 16-pound Bichon foster sibling. They aren't roughhousing buddies, but they're inseparable companions who enjoy simply being together. Matcha has also met several other small and medium-sized dogs and has done wonderfully with calm introductions.   She has also handled meeting new people surprisingly well. Her grooming appointment was full of unfamiliar dogs and strangers, and she took it all in stride without any drama.   Learning to Be a Dog   One of the most rewarding things about fostering Matcha has been watching her confidence blossom.   When she first arrived, she was shut down. Today, she responds to her name, eagerly takes treats from your hand, enjoys her evening meals, and is beginning to understand simple cues like 'come.'   She still has plenty to learn— she doesn't yet know basic commands like sit, stay, or down— but she's incredibly willing to learn when someone is patient and kind. Short, positive training sessions have helped her make wonderful progress, and she's proven herself to be very teachable.   House Manners   Matcha is house trained and crate trained. She sleeps quietly in a crate beside her foster family each night and settles nicely when left home.   She has excellent house manners and isn't destructive. She doesn't chew, dig, or bark unnecessarily. Occasionally she'll give a brief howl or soft whine when her people leave, but once she realizes she still has canine company, she quickly settles down.     Matcha is still working on building confidence, especially when it comes to walking on a leash. If she's tethered to another confident dog, she'll happily walk along beside them, but without her buddy, she will freeze. She's already shown that she can make wonderful progress with patience.   Because she's still learning to trust the world, Matcha will thrive with someone who understands that confidence can't be rushed. She doesn't need perfection— she just needs kindness, consistency, and someone willing to celebrate the little victories along the way.   Her Perfect Home   Matcha would love a calm home where she can continue building confidence at her own pace. She enjoys companionship and would likely do well as either an only dog or with another friendly, confident canine companion. She doesn't need an active lifestyle to be happy—she simply wants to be included in daily life and loved for the wonderful little dog she is.   Watching Matcha transform from a frightened dog into one who greets each morning with an enthusiastic wagging tail has been incredibly rewarding. Beneath her cautious exterior is an affectionate, gentle soul who is just waiting for someone to give her the forever home she deserves.   If you're looking for a quiet companion whose love is earned—and all the more meaningful because of it—Matcha is ready to meet you. August 4, 2026, 8:53 pm
