Story
Bentley is 10 years old he still acts like a puppy jumps, barks and runs around with kids. He likes to take walks, sniff everything, and enjoys toys and playing fetch. He loves cuddling on the couch and following people everywhere throughout the house, he is ok being left alone without a crate but needs to be kept away from restrooms and kitchens because he will go through trash cans. He is a sweet, energetic, curious boy who needs a home with a family. Hoping to place him within Southern California only.

Story
Liam is an approximately 6-year-old boy who recently experienced a heartbreaking loss when his owner passed away. He was brought to a high-kill shelter, and we were able to step in and bring him to safety. Right now, Liam is understandably confused and a bit scared as he adjusts to all the changes in his life. He would greatly benefit from a calm, loving foster home where he can decompress, feel safe, and begin to trust again. Beneath his uncertainty, Liam is a very sweet dog who just needs patience, kindness, and understanding to help his true personality shine. With time and love, he has all the potential to become a devoted and wonderful companion. Liam is currently undergoing vetting—his blood work shows he is in good health, and he will be groomed soon. He’ll be ready for a home of his own before long. He would do best in a home with a yard rather than an apartment, and with someone who is home most of the time to provide the comfort and consistency he needs. If you have a quiet home and an open heart, fostering Liam could make all the difference in helping him heal—and you may just find a loyal friend for life.March 23, 2026, 10:06 pm

Story
Hello all, my former husband I adopted Ducky from the shelter about 4 years ago, with some known issues of severe separation anxiety. He used to work remotely and so we felt that any issues he had we would be able to overcome, as well as hoping that our two other dogs at home would help with his situation. We are unfortunately going through a divorce and as I work 12 hour shifts outside of the home feel I am unable to provide Ducky with the care and companionship he needs. I did attempt some boarding school training and medications, but nothing seems to really have helped except for having his human around. He is a very sweet dog, loves people, and is fairly obsessed with toys. He is always excited to follow his human around and when the human in question is still, he will curl up right next to them and take a nap. He loves his greenie teething treats and to have his toys thrown, even though sometimes he loses track of them, or forgets to bring them back.

Story
The application is the first step in the adoption process, so if you are interested in adopting please fill out the online adoption application  first by visiting our website at www.dachshundpaws.org    Blueberry is a 6 year old mix. Blueberry was adopted from us several years ago and is getting returned. The family has a toddler now and he is not fitting well with the kid. He is very loyal and affectionate towards the adults, but exhibits resource guarding of them. He does do great if they are not present, such as when they have dog sitters come to their home - no aggression. He is looking for a dog savvy owner willing to take the time to help him feel comfortable and understand boundaries. Blueberry is all ready to find his new family. Blueberry's adoption fee: $150We do not have a kennel or facility to visit, all dogs are kept in foster homes until their forever homes are found.Adoption Process: Once an approved application is on file, we will then set up a home visit. At that time we will bring the dog to the home in which you will all be sharing. We ask the entire family to be there that day. If we all agree on the placement, then the dog will stay with you that day.  Please visit our website at www.dachshundpaws.org    March 13, 2026, 7:57 pm

Story
Milo came from a backyard breeder in Hesperia, where he spent most of his life outside in a cage through the heat and cold. When he was rescued, he had never walked on grass, worn a collar, or been on a leash. He was thin and malnourished, and the world was big and scary. With patience and love, everything changed. Now about 11–12 months old, Milo is neutered, fully vaccinated, and his personality has blossomed. He’s a happy, wiggly little dog who greets you with a constantly wagging tail. We believe Milo may be a Cavalier and Border Collie mix. He weighs about 16 lbs and has a unique right eye with a small portion of blue. He has a beautiful coat and the sweetest, mellow temperament. The best part? Milo is truly a dream companion: • Potty trained • Leash trained • Rarely barks or whines • No separation anxiety • Loves fetch and belly rubs • Wonderful with adults, kids of all ages, dogs, and even cats • Knows some basic commands Despite his difficult start, Milo is incredibly gentle, loving, and trusting. Now he’s ready for the one thing he’s never had — a forever family. If you’re interested in meeting Milo, please contact: Lin – 1000 Orphans Dog Rescue 📞 (949) 331-6299 🐾
