Story
Humbolt is a senior sweetheart with a heart as big as his gentle brown eyes. He’s the kind of dog who may take a little time to warm up, but once he does, you’ll find a loyal friend who just wants to be close to his people. Humbolt thrives in a calm, patient environment where he can feel safe and loved. Because he’s a little sensitive to handling, he’s looking for a home without small children—older kids (12+) who understand how to respect his boundaries would be just fine. If you’re someone with a gentle touch and a big heart, Humbolt might be your perfect match. Come meet this soulful boy—you may just be the hero he`s been waiting for. What I Need In a Home:* Kids 12+ mandatory

Story
Barnabus is an amazing pup with a huge love for fetch—give him a ball, and he’s the happiest dog in the world! He’s looking for a gentle and patient adopter who will let him take his time to build trust. Barnabus thrives in a calm environment where he’s spoken to with kindness and allowed to come to you on his own terms. Once he feels secure, his sweet and loyal personality truly shines. While he’s not a fan of constant cuddles right away, Barnabus warms up beautifully with stability and love. He enjoys quiet walks, watching the world go by, and engaging with the people around him. He’s great with kids, other animals, and people, making him a wonderful companion in the right home. Barnabus does have a quirky growl, but don’t be alarmed—it’s his way of asking for attention, especially when he wants to play! He’s been misunderstood in the past, but in the right hands, he’ll flourish into the perfect, devoted best friend. If you’re ready to offer Barnabus the care, understanding, and love he deserves, he’s ready to meet you! Fill out an application today to bring this playful and protective boy into your life.

Story
Background and History:   Buffy is a 5-year-old Cocker Spaniel who was found as a stray. She had delivered puppies before she was found, but no family was looking for her. Buffy is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on her vaccinations.   Behavior and Training:   Buffy is house, crate, and doggy door trained. She does well with other dogs and loves toys. Buffy prefers to be inside the house rather than outside, and she loves attention.   Potential Adopter Recommendations:   Buffy would do best in a home that can provide her with plenty of indoor time, playtime, and affection. She would thrive in a household with other friendly dogs or children who can give her the attention she craves. A fenced yard or access to a doggy door would allow Buffy to have outdoor time while still maintaining her preference for being indoors. Adopters should be prepared to continue Buffy's training and socialization to ensure she remains well-behaved in the home.   Adoption Readiness:   Given Buffy's friendly nature, house training, and previous experience with puppies, she is ready for adoption into a loving forever home. Her spay status, microchip, and up-to-date vaccinations make her an ideal candidate for immediate placement. Buffy's background as a stray with no prior owners means extra time may be needed to build trust and bond with her new family, but her eagerness for attention should facilitate a smooth transition. In summary, Buffy is a 5-year-old Cocker Spaniel with a gentle, affectionate personality who is in need of a nurturing, indoor-oriented home that can provide her with the care and companionship she desires. With her basic training and veterinary needs already met, she is ready to bring joy and love to a new family. Story
We took in Franklin following the death of his owner. Franklin was initially grumpy with our very energetic puppy which we were hoping would improve but Franklin is very stressed by our dog and our children which seems to be worsening. I don’t have a behavioral history other than what we have seen and he is very stressed by other dogs- typically reacting with growls. He is very stressed by children and has nipped at the children. I believe Franklin would do best with a single individual or couple who are able to give him a quiet and calm home. He does great in the car and did amazing camping. He really is a sweet boy who I think has been through a lot.
