Story
Age: 7 years old Weight: 40 lbs. Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: unknown but likely fine Kid friendly: calmer & older kids ok Potty trained: yes Crate trained: no Patch is a sweet senior Cocker Spaniel who may have had a rough start in life, but he’s more than ready to spend his golden years exactly where he belongs — cuddled up on a cozy couch next to his favorite person. This handsome boy loves a good routine. His ideal morning? A quick potty break in the yard followed by a short walk to sniff the world and maybe chase a few leaves (one of his favorite hobbies!). Patch is living in a home for the very first time, and he’s doing an amazing job learning the ropes. He hasn’t had accidents and thrives on a consistent schedule. He’s still figuring out how to tell his people when he needs to go out, but with structure, he does great. Patch absolutely loves toys and enrichment activities — they make his little heart so happy! Because of that, he can be a bit protective of his treasures. He would do best in a home with older children or adults who understand how to respect his toys and personal space. Patch is a sensitive, anxious soul who bonds deeply with his people. He would thrive in a home with another calm dog companion or with someone who is home most of the time and can offer him the companionship he craves. He can be left alone for short periods, and with patience, he may be able to build up to longer stretches over time. This snuggle bug loves bedtime as much as playtime — he sleeps with his foster in bed, or sometimes in his dog bed right next to the human bed if he gets warm. He is not crate trained and shows signs of past trauma or strong discomfort with crates. One is always available for him if needed, but he prefers to sleep and relax freely. When he’s excited, Patch wiggles his whole butt and does the cutest little happy dance just for you. He loves pets, attention, and being close — truly happiest right next to his person on the couch. Patch is curious about car rides and new adventures. He’s still a little nervous in the car but is excited about the idea of exploring new places with someone he trusts. Adoption fee: $595

Age: Estimated DOB 5/8/25 Weight: 25 lbs Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Unknown/not tested Kid friendly: Yes Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes Hi, my name is Elroy! I’m an energizer puppy who goes and goes and goes! When I finally slow down, I love curling up in a cozy, safe spot—especially the corner behind my foster’s chair. I’m still learning how to be a puppy, so I sometimes need reminders about what is okay to nibble and what’s not. I absolutely love the snow, and I’m very smart too—I’ve already learned how to ring a bell when I need to go outside! Adoption Fee: $695

Age: DOB 9/27/2025 Weight: 14.2 lbs. Dog friendly: yes Cat friendly: unknown Kid friendly: yes Potty trained: still working on it Crate trained: no   Meet Apollo, the adorably fluffy and floppy cocker spaniel puppy!  Apollo is a breeder release puppy about 4m old. He came to us with cherry eye and now he’s all fixed up.  This sweet guy had a pretty severe case of cherry eye so he does have a bit more droopy eyes, don’t worry it’s just cosmetic and doesn’t affect his vision.  Apollo is a sweet curious boy who thrives with gentle guidance and positive reinforcement. When it’s time to play Apollo loves to jump in and flop around, he loves a good sploot while laying down and I can assure you it is adorable.  Apollo isn’t as confident as some puppies so a good socialization class or dog friendly neighborhood would do wonders for him. To keep up with his potty training, Apollo would do best a fenced in yard, unless he has a dedicated adopter willing to help him gain more confidence on a leash.  He lives with another unrelated cocker spaniel puppy, an adult dog and 2 kids which he loves to snuggle up with. Apollo has been amazing during grooming and will often fall asleep during bath time.  Apollo is still a work in progress as all puppies are but if you give him a chance this sweet pup promises to give you all his love. Adoption Fee: $795

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Lady is an 18&#226&#128&#145pound Cocker Spaniel sweetheart who believes her true calling in life is to be your personal shadow, couch companion, and professional snuggle consultant. She’s friendly and outgoing at home, and while she may start off a little cautious in new places, she warms up quickly—especially if treats are involved. She is extremely food motivated and will happily demonstrate her “sit,” “come,” “shake,” and “outside” skills in exchange for snacks. She’s partially blind in her right eye, which gives her a bit of mysterious pirate&#226&#128&#145princess energy, and may explain why she’s not a fan of chaotic environments or overly enthusiastic dogs. Big, bouncy dogs? Hard pass. Bossy little female dogs? Also no thank you. Calm senior pups? Absolutely—she’ll happily share space with the chill crowd. Lady came to us with 30% vision in her right eye due to juvenile cataracts because of this she will be more prone to glaucoma in that eye and will need annual eye check ups. Lady loves small squeaky toys, stuffies, and anything that makes noise when she pounces on it. She’s slightly active with a moderate energy level, meaning she’s always up for a walk, a car ride, or running errands, but she’s equally thrilled to curl up next to you and soak up all the affection you’re willing to give. She’s a world&#226&#128&#145class snuggler and will happily join you on the couch or in a chair, molding herself into whatever shape is required for maximum coziness. She’s potty trained, walks nicely on a leash, and prefers a fenced yard because she’s not consistent about going potty on leash. She can be a bit barky in the crate at first, but she settles with time. She’s good with cats, good with adults, and likely best with older or considerate kids who understand her gentle, slightly nervous nature. Lady is a happy, goofy, affectionate little love bug who just wants to be with her people. She’ll make you smile with her antics, warm your lap with her snuggles, and brighten your days with her sweet, soulful presence. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
Meet Pebble, a sweet and gentle soul ready to find his patient forever family! This unique dog, with his striking half-blue and half-gold eyes, is slower to come out of his shell, but his loving personality shines through for those willing to give him time. Pebble is diligently learning the ropes of home life. He's mostly potty-trained, going out regularly and only having one accident so far (aside from a bit of marking that improved with neutering). He's a morning dog, up by 6 AM for an outside adventure, and he sometimes needs a nighttime break too. While he's learning boundaries, he currently needs a bit of monitoring around the trash, but he’s been excellent about not chewing on inappropriate items. Pebble truly wants to please and is trying his hardest to understand his new world. When you talk to him, you'll be charmed by his adorable, slightly crooked smile – a glimpse into his forming confidence. He may be cautious around thresholds at first, but once settled, he enjoys gentle affection. While he's content to lay near you, he'll happily accept pets if you invite him onto the couch. He’s learning the joy of play and has a wonderful bouncy energy, often seen zooming around with his canine friends. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will blossom with patience and love, Pebble is eager to show you his full, charming self.

Story
Meet Freckles 🐾 Freckles is an adorable little lady who looks like a King Charles Spaniel mix with a hint of Beagle — complete with soulful eyes and the sweetest expression. She’s a medium-energy girl who loves long walks where she can explore the world at her own pace. She loves to smell everything. Freckles is very sweet, affectionate, and once she feels safe. She can be nervous in new environments and is easily startled by loud noises, so she’ll do best in a calm, quiet home. She may seem shy at first, and scared of everything but she needs time to adjust. Once she is comfortable she likes being around her humans but also enjoys her own space, she may disappear into a bedroom to nap or you may find her in a sunbeam somewhere peaceful. She is potty trained. Like many dogs adjusting to a new space, she may mark once on the first day indoors, but after settling in, she reliably goes outside. She eats well and enjoys her kibble softened with a little broth or wet food. After a good walk or some playtime, Freckles is a champion napper — she absolutely loves to snooze the day away and can be trusted around the home alone. She enjoys playing with soft toys and squeaky toys. One of her cutest quirks? She “smiles” by showing her teeth when she’s excited — it’s her happy grin, not aggression! On walks, Freckles prefers her personal space. She can be a little dog-reactive and does not like greeting other dogs while out walking. She may bark and pull at the leash and will need slow, structured introductions to any dogs in the home or neighborhood. Because of this, she would do best with a patient adopter who understands dog reactivity and is willing to take introductions slowly and thoughtfully. She is better with larger dogs; she seems to be more reactive to smaller dogs. Freckles does not like kennels and feels safest when she has free roam in a calm home environment. She has had some medical work done while in rescue: Her Cherry eye has been fixed and she has had 9 teeth removed.
