Story
I have him since he was a puppy. Now, he’s 6 yrs old. He stays with us inside the house. He can be active, can be sit with me for hours in the couch as well. He’s still needs to walk at least once a day. He’s pretty good with other dogs, just need to introduce him slowly. He sometimes pulls during walk, especially in the beginning and when seeing other dogs, but he’s small, so it’s very easy to control. He has a lot of hair, so yeah, we have to vacuum a lot. Overall, he’s a good companion.

Story
Mina is a cute girl who is always down for some fun! Mina is estimated to be about a year old, and she is a smart and happy girl. She missed out on some socialization as a young puppy, so she is still learning about the world, but has blossomed in foster care and can't wait to meet her fur-ever family. Mina currently weighs about 25lbs, and appears to be fully grown. Mina came to us from our partners, BONES Pet Rescue in Covelo. Mina and her sister (who has already been adopted) were found on a remote road, likely dumped by their previous owners. A friend of BONES found the puppies and brought them to the rescue. After some TLC, they were transferred to one of our foster homes. Mina is a curious and playful girl who likes to make new friends and romp around in the yard. She enjoys gentle pets and will even give you sweet kissies if you're lucky. She is still learning all the ropes of being a dog and needs a family who can be patient with her while she learns and gains confidence. One thing that really helps her feel comfortable is having dog friends. We are hoping she can be adopted by someone who has a confident dog for her to bond with and can help mentor her. Mina is going to be a great companion for someone who is committed to continuing her training and socialization. She is an active and smart girl who learns quickly, especially if yummy treats are involved. Mina has done great with dogs of all sizes, but can be a tad too playful for older dogs, so would do best with a dog who can keep up with her energetic personality. Mina has done well with dog-savvy cats after a slow introduction. Mina has done well with being around livestock and even an extra-large tortoise. She would be a great addition to a farm! Due to her shy personality, Mina would do best in a home with kids older than 10 years old. Mina is house and crate trained.  She has been doing well being left alone in her crate and sleeping through the night in there. She knows how to climb fences, so she shouldn't be trusted in a yard alone until she has fully settled in and bonded with her new family. Mina is such a great little girl who has so much potential. If she sounds like the sidekick you have been looking for, head to our website, yolospca.org/adopt, to submit an application.   Mina's adoption fee is $300.   A pply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. September 19, 2026, 2:42 am

Story
This handsome pup was brought in while still nursing with their Mama, Duchess. Mama dog is listed as a Smooth Collie mix and based on puppy's looks, we feel Dad may have had Akita in the mix. Puppy will likely grow into medium size dog. We have started this little one on their first puppy shots and the litter will go over on 9/29 for spay/neuter. Our staff and volunteers have spent lots of time with the baby to make sure to socialize early. If you would like to start off with a new puppy, come out for a meet-and-greet. You are sure to be greeted back with lots of wiggles and kisses! $350.00 adoption includes spay/neuter, vaccinations and microchipping. Story
This sweet, sweet girl came to us from Turlock Animal Services with five tiny babies she was nursing. She has been an amazing mama and has taken such wonderful care of her puppies. Now that her little ones are growing up, it's time for this loving girl to find a family of her very own! She is very young-probably only about a year old-and is a nice-sized girl weighing approximately 32 pounds. From the moment she arrived, she has been incredibly sweet and affectionate with our staff. She has been such a wonderful guest at the shelter, and we think she is going to make an absolutely wonderful family companion. Because she came to us as a stray, we don't know her complete history, so we haven't had the opportunity to determine how she feels about cats or children. What we do know is that she has shown us what a loving, gentle girl she can be while in our care. She is vaccinated and microchipped and will be spayed before going to her new home. Her adoption fee is $350, which helps us cover the cost of her care while she waits for her forever family. After everything this sweet mama has done for her babies, she deserves a family who will love and spoil her just as much as she has loved and cared for them.
