Story
Mina is a cute girl who is always down for some fun! Mina is estimated to be about 4 months old, and she is a smart and happy girl. She missed out on some socialization as a young puppy, so she is still learning about the world, but has blossomed in foster care and can't wait to meet her fur-ever family. Mina currently weighs about 20lbs, and we estimate that she will be around 50lbs when fully grown. Mina came to us from our partners, BONES Pet Rescue in Covelo. Mina and her sister (who has already been adopted) were found on a remote road, likely dumped by their previous owners. A friend of BONES found the puppies and brought them to the rescue. After some TLC, they were transferred to one of our foster homes, and Mina has been growing like a weed ever since. Mina is a curious and playful girl who likes to make new friends and romp around in the yard. She enjoys gentle pets and will even give you sweet kissies if you're lucky. She is still learning all the ropes of being a dog, and needs a family who can be patient with her while she learns and gains confidence. One thing that really helps her feel comfortable is having dog friends. We are hoping she can be adopted by someone who has a confident dog for her to bond with and can help mentor her. Mina is going to be a great companion for someone who is committed to continuing her training and socialization. She is an active and smart girl who learns quickly, especially if yummy treats are involved. Mina has done great with dogs of all sizes, but can be a tad too playful for older dogs, so would do best with a dog who can keep up with her energetic personality. We haven't seen Mina around cats, but she may do well with dog-savvy cats with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Mina has done well with being around livestock and even an extra-large tortoise. Due to her shy personality, Mina would do best in a home with kids older than 12 years old. Mina is still working on all of her basic manners, including house and crate training. She has been doing well being left alone in a secure outside pen, and is happy to keep herself amused out there during the work day. Mina is such a great little girl who has so much potential. If she sounds like the sidekick you have been looking for, head to our website, yolospca.org/adopt, to submit an application.   Mina's adoption fee is $350.   A pply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. Story
Oakley is a stunning young collie mix who was found stray in the Central Valley and is now safe, loved, and ready for a forever family of his own. He’s neutered, up to date on all vaccines, and has the gentlest heart. Like many collies, Oakley is intelligent, intuitive, and deeply people-oriented. He watches his humans with those soulful eyes, eager to understand what you’re asking and happy to show off how quickly he learns. Collies are known for their loyalty and sensitivity, and Oakley is all of that and more — a dog who just wants to bond, belong, and be loved. Oakley is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and so grateful for every bit of kindness shown to him. You can feel it the moment he leans in for a cuddle or wags his tail when you call his name. He’s ready to be someone’s loyal companion, adventure buddy, and soft-hearted family member. If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle, and devoted pup with classic collie charm, Oakley may be your boy. Come meet him and let him steal your heart. 💛

Story
Meet Balton — a gentle, 2-year-old Collie mix with a heart full of love just waiting to be discovered. Found stray in the Central Valley, Balton came to us a little unsure of the world, but every day he’s blooming into the sweet, affectionate dog he was meant to be. Balton is timid with new people at first, but once he feels safe, his big, tender heart shines through. He forms deep bonds and loves quietly and completely — a true loyal companion in the making. He’s wonderful with other dogs, and during a recent sleepover he did amazingly well with cats, too! This boy has a calm, gentle energy that makes him easy to be around and so rewarding to love. Balton is ready for a patient, kind home that will give him the time and reassurance he needs to fully settle in. In return, he’ll give you the sweetest trust, devotion, and companionship. If you believe in underdogs and love watching them blossom… Balton is your boy. 💛🐾

Kaia has that classic collie sweetness: sensitive, intuitive, and deeply connected to her people. Story
To apply or learn more about Isco, go to: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/219873/2023/11/2/isco Indigo is a 4 yr neutered cattle dog whippet mix (best guess) in need of a special home! Adopted as a puppy through HFP back in 2020, Indigo is looking for a quiet, calm adult home as your one and only! ✅ no separation anxiety ✅ housetrained, crate trained ✅ wonderful base of basic training ✅ smart & trainable ✅ cutest submissive grin/wiggle butt when you come home ✅ moderate activity (relaxed inside but loves to fetch and play!) ✅ doing much better at car travel He was adopted as a 4 month old puppy through HFP but sadly returned 3 years later -- he is currently in a Sacramento Foster home but is really in need of a home of his very own as his foster cannot keep him forever. More about Isco: he has a great base of training and ready to impress you with all his cues, including: Sit, Wait/Stay, Bed, Crate, Down and Off. He walks well on leash and doesn’t pull a ton. He LOVES to sniff everything during his walkies aka Sniffaris ( but doesn’t stop to mark, only sniff). He would do best in a quieter neighborhood as very busy places can make him nervous. Moderate energy -- he loves playing fetch in the backyard and a long daily walk would be ideal for Isco. In the home he is relaxed and independent. He has lived with 2 small dogs in the past and may be able to make dog acquaintances with slow intros but does not have a ton of experience with other dogs at this time. He would do best as prince of the palace as a solo dog in the home. Indigo previously lived with a cat who he loved to play with but can chase other cats, he may do well in a home with a well-matched cat friends; we ALWAYS recommend slow intros into the home/early separation for cats/dogs as they get to know one another. Indigo has the CUTEST prance and loves to play fetch. He is treat motivated which makes continued training and intros to people much more of a breeze. Housetrained, Crate Trained, around 55 lbs. Neutered, Vaccinated, Vetted, ready to be yours! Indigo adoption donation is sponsored. You might be wondering what “sponsored” means. A dog is sponsored when their foster or a donor loves them so much that they cover the adoption donation for a future adopter. This in hopes that the pup finds his or her forever family ASAP!

Story
Loyal, sweet, and super smart - Tiana is the complete package! Tiana is about 4-5 months old and is an adorable girl who bonds strongly. She is the master of cuddles and is such a smart cookie who picks up new tricks in a breeze. She is looking for an active family who can keep her busy mind and body happy with lots of fun and enrichment. Tiana currently weighs about 30lbs, but is slightly underweight. We estimate that she will be around at least 50-60lbs when fully grown. Tiana was found as a stray and brought to a Northern California animal shelter. She was found to have a broken leg and was prescribed crate rest to allow her body to heal. Tiana is now all healed from her injury and ready to start acclimating to normal activity.  Tiana has a pretty typical herding-breed habit of bonding to one person in the home, and everyone else is secondary. While she loves making friends, she is the type of pup who always wants to be by her person's side and would make a wonderful sidekick for a single person, or a couple where someone is willing to be the "spare human". Tiana is such a smart girl who already has learned sit, down, touch, go to your mat, shake, and inside (to go into her crate). She would be a wonderful companion for someone who loves training and would like a dog who enjoys learning new things. She can learn just about anything if a tasty treat is involved. Tiana has done well meeting other pups, but can be a little shy around larger dogs. She would benefit from having an easygoing dog to help mentor her, but she could do fine as an only dog with opportunities to make dog friends and build her confidence around other dogs. Tiana has done great living with dog-savvy cats. She can be a little obnoxious trying to make friends, so she may be too much for a super-shy cat. Tiana has done well living with teenagers. Tiana has been doing very well with her housetraining, but is still a learning puppy and will need a family committed to helping her learn. She has done well sleeping in her crate overnight, but is still learning to be comfortable being home alone and would do best with someone who can slowly acclimate her to it.  Tiana is such a wonderful girl who is going to make someone very lucky. If you think that might be you, submit an application today!   Tiana's adoption fee is $350.   A pply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application.
