Story
Mina is a cute girl who is always down for some fun! Mina is estimated to be about 8 months old, and she is a smart and happy girl. She missed out on some socialization as a young puppy, so she is still learning about the world, but has blossomed in foster care and can't wait to meet her fur-ever family. Mina currently weighs about 25lbs, and we think that she is pretty much fully grown. Mina came to us from our partners, BONES Pet Rescue in Covelo. Mina and her sister (who has already been adopted) were found on a remote road, likely dumped by their previous owners. A friend of BONES found the puppies and brought them to the rescue. After some TLC, they were transferred to one of our foster homes. Mina is a curious and playful girl who likes to make new friends and romp around in the yard. She enjoys gentle pets and will even give you sweet kissies if you're lucky. She is still learning all the ropes of being a dog and needs a family who can be patient with her while she learns and gains confidence. One thing that really helps her feel comfortable is having dog friends. We are hoping she can be adopted by someone who has a confident dog for her to bond with and can help mentor her. Mina is going to be a great companion for someone who is committed to continuing her training and socialization. She is an active and smart girl who learns quickly, especially if yummy treats are involved. Mina has done great with dogs of all sizes, but can be a tad too playful for older dogs, so would do best with a dog who can keep up with her energetic personality. Mina has done well with dog-savvy cats after a slow introduction. Mina has done well with being around livestock and even an extra-large tortoise. She would be a great addition to a farm! Due to her shy personality, Mina would do best in a home with kids older than 10 years old. Mina has been doing well with her housetraining and sleeps through the night with her foster siblings in the garage.  She has been doing well being left alone in the secure, fully fenced backyard and is happy to keep herself amused out there during the work day. However, she does know how to climb fences, so she shouldn't be trusted in a yard alone until she has fully settled in and bonded with her new family. Mina is such a great little girl who has so much potential. If she sounds like the sidekick you have been looking for, head to our website, yolospca.org/adopt, to submit an application.   Mina's adoption fee is $350.   A pply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. March 16, 2026, 12:41 am

Story
Trixie came to my property as a lost pup pack. I have since then housed and cared for her and her 4 siblings, covering all vet needs. She is 4 months old. I've trained the pack together as they learn how to walk the property with me, no leash, and listen to my direction. I've used blueberries for incentive. They stay near and always come when called. They've just begun to wear collar. The pack has reached an age, and size, to where they are ready for more. In need of a loving home who can take in a fully energetic gal and has lots of loyalty and love to give. Trixie knows "sit" very well, and has crate training. She has received house training, is very receptive to livestock directions such as " leave it" "come" "off" "away" She will wander the property with just the collar and come running when I call her name, whistle, or say "come". She is ready to learn eager and ready for open hearts in a welcoming home. I would love to see Trixie thrive in a happy home.
