Story
Mina is a cute girl who is always down for some fun! Mina is estimated to be about 4 months old, and she is a smart and happy girl. She missed out on some socialization as a young puppy, so she is still learning about the world, but has blossomed in foster care and can't wait to meet her fur-ever family. Mina currently weighs about 20lbs, and we estimate that she will be around 50lbs when fully grown. Mina came to us from our partners, BONES Pet Rescue in Covelo. Mina and her sister (who has already been adopted) were found on a remote road, likely dumped by their previous owners. A friend of BONES found the puppies and brought them to the rescue. After some TLC, they were transferred to one of our foster homes, and Mina has been growing like a weed ever since. Mina is a curious and playful girl who likes to make new friends and romp around in the yard. She enjoys gentle pets and will even give you sweet kissies if you're lucky. She is still learning all the ropes of being a dog, and needs a family who can be patient with her while she learns and gains confidence. One thing that really helps her feel comfortable is having dog friends. We are hoping she can be adopted by someone who has a confident dog for her to bond with and can help mentor her. Mina is going to be a great companion for someone who is committed to continuing her training and socialization. She is an active and smart girl who learns quickly, especially if yummy treats are involved. Mina has done great with dogs of all sizes, but can be a tad too playful for older dogs, so would do best with a dog who can keep up with her energetic personality. We haven't seen Mina around cats, but she may do well with dog-savvy cats with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Mina has done well with being around livestock and even an extra-large tortoise. Due to her shy personality, Mina would do best in a home with kids older than 12 years old. Mina is still working on all of her basic manners, including house and crate training. She has been doing well being left alone in a secure outside pen, and is happy to keep herself amused out there during the work day. Mina is such a great little girl who has so much potential. If she sounds like the sidekick you have been looking for, head to our website, yolospca.org/adopt, to submit an application.   Mina's adoption fee is $350.   A pply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. October 17, 2025, 10:51 pm

Story
Introducing Pokey Puppy!!! Pokey's estimated dob is May 2023 and he weighs about 32lbs. He came to us in poor condition from one of the Central Valley shelters so had little hope of making it out.  Pokey has had good care and good groceries and has flourished.  He appears to be a short stack Cattle Dog mix given his coloration and some of his behaviors.  Pokey is still shy with new people and to some extent other dogs so patience will be needed for his transition.  Once he is comfortable, he is happy and playful.  Pokey has been learning about the wide world and walks the neighborhood everyday.  He will continue to need exposure and reassurance for outings as he matures, along with solid training. He is a strong and active player so another sturdy playful pup would be good.  Pokey sleeps in his crate at night.  He has also mastered the dog door.  And he is pretty much potty trained. Pokey's wishlist: 1.  Fenced yard 2.  Daily walks and activity 3.  No young children.  Older respectful children  4.  Continued training  5.  Patience and leadership 6.  A compatible playmate Please email right away if you would like to learn more about this dog......and visit our website www.siarescuers.org to learn more about our rescue group. Adoption fees range from $350-$475 for dogs. THE DOGS SHOWN ON THE SITE ARE IN FOSTERCARE - WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER TO VISIT. EMAIL is the best way to reach us. We are a volunteer run, very small organization - so please be patient when waiting for a response, but feel free to check back in if you haven't heard from us in a day or so - thank you so much for considering a rescued pooch!

Story
Don’t worry, this little guy’s only master plan is to win over your heart! Named after the Breaking Bad icon, Walter White is a gentle, sweet-natured pup who can be a bit shy when first exploring new places. But give him a little time, and you’ll discover a loving, loyal companion who’s all about quiet affection and warm snuggles with his favorite humans. Walter may start off timid, but once he feels safe, he blossoms into a devoted sidekick who will stick by you through every twist and turn, no secret labs involved. His soft gaze and tender personality make him the kind of dog who turns everyday moments into something special. Because he can be shy in new spaces, we recommend any children in his new home are age 5 or older. He may also do well with other dogs after a slow, thoughtful introduction to help him build confidence. If you’re ready to embark on a brand-new chapter, Walter White is ready to join the family business of unconditional love. Adopt Walter and start a heartwarming adventure that’s truly chemistry at its best!Adoption Price: $200

Story
This young pup may share a name with a certain Breaking Bad fan favorite, but his only “chemistry” is the kind that bonds him to the people he loves most. Jesse is a super sweet boy who can be a bit shy when exploring new spaces, but once he settles in, his gentle heart absolutely shines. With a little patience and reassurance, Jesse transforms from a timid newcomer to a loyal companion who’s all about soft smooches and cozy snuggle sessions. He’s the type of pup who will stick by your side through thick and thin, no desert RV required! Because he can be startled by sudden noise or activity, we recommend that any children in his new home are age 5 or older. Jesse may also do well with other dogs after a slow, thoughtful introduction to help him feel safe and confident. If you’re ready to help this sweet boy “say yes to a new beginning,” Jesse Pinkman is ready to become your loyal sidekick. Break the cycle of boring days and adopt Jesse and start a heartwarming new adventure together!Adoption Price: $200
