Story
I have him since he was a puppy. Now, he’s 6 yrs old. He stays with us inside the house. He can be active, can be sit with me for hours in the couch as well. He’s still needs to walk at least once a day. He’s pretty good with other dogs, just need to introduce him slowly. He sometimes pulls during walk, especially in the beginning and when seeing other dogs, but he’s small, so it’s very easy to control. He has a lot of hair, so yeah, we have to vacuum a lot. Overall, he’s a good companion.

Story
Mina is a cute girl who is always down for some fun! Mina is estimated to be about a year old, and she is a smart and happy girl. She missed out on some socialization as a young puppy, so she is still learning about the world, but has blossomed in foster care and can't wait to meet her fur-ever family. Mina currently weighs about 25lbs, and appears to be fully grown. Mina came to us from our partners, BONES Pet Rescue in Covelo. Mina and her sister (who has already been adopted) were found on a remote road, likely dumped by their previous owners. A friend of BONES found the puppies and brought them to the rescue. After some TLC, they were transferred to one of our foster homes. Mina is a curious and playful girl who likes to make new friends and romp around in the yard. She enjoys gentle pets and will even give you sweet kissies if you're lucky. She is still learning all the ropes of being a dog and needs a family who can be patient with her while she learns and gains confidence. One thing that really helps her feel comfortable is having dog friends. We are hoping she can be adopted by someone who has a confident dog for her to bond with and can help mentor her. Mina is going to be a great companion for someone who is committed to continuing her training and socialization. She is an active and smart girl who learns quickly, especially if yummy treats are involved. Mina has done great with dogs of all sizes, but can be a tad too playful for older dogs, so would do best with a dog who can keep up with her energetic personality. Mina has done well with dog-savvy cats after a slow introduction. Mina has done well with being around livestock and even an extra-large tortoise. She would be a great addition to a farm! Due to her shy personality, Mina would do best in a home with kids older than 10 years old. Mina is house and crate trained.  She has been doing well being left alone in her crate and sleeping through the night in there. She knows how to climb fences, so she shouldn't be trusted in a yard alone until she has fully settled in and bonded with her new family. Mina is such a great little girl who has so much potential. If she sounds like the sidekick you have been looking for, head to our website, yolospca.org/adopt, to submit an application.   Mina's adoption fee is $300.   A pply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. October 22, 2026, 4:55 pm

Story
Beau Border Collie Mix Male about 1 year old Beau is a happy, playful boy with a goofy personality and a big love for both toys and people. He's the kind of dog that will happily zoom around the yard one minute, then climb right into your lap for attention the next. After being rescued off the euthanasia list and transported to us, Beau was a little shy at first, but he's really come out of his shell and turned into such a fun, affectionate dog. He loves to play, explore, and be part of whatever his people are doing. We think he may even enjoy water and would likely make a great adventure buddy! Beau has a moderate energy level and would do best in a moderately active home where he can get regular playtime, walks, and attention. He could do well as an only dog or with another playful dog companion. About Beau: Neutered Up to date on vaccines Microchipped Potty trained Crate trained Walks well on leash Knows sit Dog friendly Because Beau shows interest in chickens and ducks, we think a home without cats or small animals would be best. We're unsure how he does with young children, so older respectful kids may be the best fit. Beau is looking for a family that will continue helping him build confidence while giving him the love, playtime, and adventures he deserves. If you're looking for a sweet, silly companion with a playful spirit, Beau may be your perfect match. Interested in meeting Beau?
