Story
**Meet Lassie this Saturday, April 27th from 10 to 1:00 at Dublin Petsmart West, 6960 Amador Plaza Rd.** Have you been thinking about a dog, but not sure that you have the energy to invest in the basic training skills? Lassie would love to meet you and fulfill your dreams. Lassie is a Rough Collie/Husky mix about 48 lbs. She may be a bit shy when first meeting you, but she warms up quickly. Lassie is the sweetest dog. She loves to be pet and have her belly rubbed. A tired dog is a good dog. Lassie is happy with 2 or 3 walks (20 to 30 minutes each) at day. She walks well on her leash and does not react to people or other dogs she encounters on her walks. However, you may need to be ready for the occasional bolt if she sees a squirrel or cat. She is up for longer walks and would probably love a jogging partner. Lassie is house trained. If you miss her signal to go out, she will get your attention with a low howl. She loves her bed for naps during the day and goes easily into her crate at nighttime. She knows basic commands like sit and down (although her stubborn husky side may cause her to respond a little slowly at times). Lassie is working on the stay command as well as loose leash walking. She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. ## See video of Lassie at the end of the photo gallery! ## If you are interested in Lassie, please submit an application by clicking the "Apply For Adoption box " located below her photos on the right side. Story
To apply or get more info on Pony, go to: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/219873/2024/2/28/pony Pony is a 3 month mixed breed male. He is fostered with other dogs and kids aged toddler-teen. Pony is very sweet, loves attention and cuddles, and very unbitey and gentle for his age/stage. Pony enjoys being outside but with his person/people is very much where his heart is. He is a “best friend” kind of guy. Pony has made great steps on his young dog potty training. He would do best with a family that is home during the day, but has made great progress on being left alone for periods of time in his crate and riding in the car. He thrives with lots of people and lots of love. He will most likely do just fine with cats given proper intros; he would love to have a dog sibling as he loves to play with his Foster’s dogs. Pony would be a wonderful addition to a family with kids; he is the perfect example that you don’t need to go to a breeder to get a perfect family puppy! Pony is part of the “Farm Litter”, rescued from an outdoor holding facility outside Fresno. He is being fostered with his sister Lamby in San Francisco. Mama was a very sweet 40 lb mixed breed, and dad unknown. We think Pony will be a medium/large dog when fully grown. Pony is being fostered in SAN FRANCISCO, CA. Estimated DOB: 1/9/2024 $450 adoption donation includes includes age-appropriate shots, microchip with free lifetime registry, deworming, flea preventative, and spay/neuter agreement addendum. Ideal home will: Have the time to commit to all things puppy! Please note puppies do not do well left alone long hours. Long work schedule where the puppy would be left alone for 7+ hours can be difficult on most puppies and young dogs. Solid plans for puppy socialization, positive exposure and continued training + relationship building -- commitment not just to puppyhood but to a lifetime of love, care, companionship and vetting. HFP advocates for Positive Reinforcement only for young puppies and training that focuses less on "obedience" and more on confidence building, relationship building and consent training. Preference to homes w/ friendly & well-trained dog role models (preference, NOT required) Preference to homes w/ yards (preferred, NOT required) Why? Puppies cannot go in public until they are 4 month old and complete their puppy shot series. Having a yard during this time greatly helps with play, potty training, and providing an outlet for your puppy to get outside. There are ways to work around this if you do live in an apartment setting but it takes some extra work and planning! Interested in adopting? 1. Please complete our online form at heartsforpawsrescue.com/adoption-application 2. We will respond in 1-3 days for a call! 3. If it sounds like a potential match for you and the dog of interest, we will promptly set up a meet and greet at the foster home Please note we are a foster-based rescue meaning our dogs are in individual foster homes throughout sac and the bay. For this reason we may only be able to schedule meets for one dog at a time (or litter). The average timeline between app submission and a meet and greet is 3-5 days. Please only submit an application for a specific dog if you are ready to adopt that animal within a week's time. Follow facebook.com/heartsforpawsrescue & Instagram @heartsforpawsrescue for more! Story
Meet Helen. Helen arrived with her 4 doodle puppies, and this little family are now ready to find their forever homes. Quiet, happy and still a little shy, Helen will bloom in a loving and patient home, where she feels safe and can show you her true, social self. Her foster mom post-spay said that once she was in a home she warmed up quickly and was soon snuggling, giving kisses and following her everywhere, a true companion! Helen has the most empathetic eyes and definitely pays attention to you and offers affection. Helen has basic training as she walks well on leash, can sit, shake paws for treats, and is calm on a car ride. Helen loves to go on walks and is very alert. With a little patience, her forever family will truly have an amazing, sweet girl. If Helen sounds like she will be a good fit for you and your family, apply to meet her today!

Story
Meet Buddy Buddy came to us from Fescno where he was found as a stray. As a very new member of our pack, he is still decompressing; so far he is polite, easy to handle and cautiously friendly. He is very strong on leash and will need help with his leash manner. Please check back to learn more about Buddy over the coming week.
