Evie is a lovely dog at home. She is very excitable and has shown some resource guarding with my other dog. Would be better in a home with no other pets.

Story
Mina is a cute girl who is always down for some fun! Mina is estimated to be about 7 months old, and she is a smart and happy girl. She missed out on some socialization as a young puppy, so she is still learning about the world, but has blossomed in foster care and can't wait to meet her fur-ever family. Mina currently weighs about 25lbs, and we estimate that she will be around 40lbs when fully grown. Mina came to us from our partners, BONES Pet Rescue in Covelo. Mina and her sister (who has already been adopted) were found on a remote road, likely dumped by their previous owners. A friend of BONES found the puppies and brought them to the rescue. After some TLC, they were transferred to one of our foster homes, and Mina has been growing like a weed ever since. Mina is a curious and playful girl who likes to make new friends and romp around in the yard. She enjoys gentle pets and will even give you sweet kissies if you're lucky. She is still learning all the ropes of being a dog and needs a family who can be patient with her while she learns and gains confidence. One thing that really helps her feel comfortable is having dog friends. We are hoping she can be adopted by someone who has a confident dog for her to bond with and can help mentor her. Mina is going to be a great companion for someone who is committed to continuing her training and socialization. She is an active and smart girl who learns quickly, especially if yummy treats are involved. Mina has done great with dogs of all sizes, but can be a tad too playful for older dogs, so would do best with a dog who can keep up with her energetic personality. Mina has done well with dog-savvy cats after a slow introduction. Mina has done well with being around livestock and even an extra-large tortoise. She would be a great addition to a farm! Due to her shy personality, Mina would do best in a home with kids older than 10 years old. Mina has been doing well with her housetraining and is comfortable in her crate overnight.  She has been doing well being left alone in the secure, fully fenced backyard, and is happy to keep herself amused out there during the work day. Mina is such a great little girl who has so much potential. If she sounds like the sidekick you have been looking for, head to our website, yolospca.org/adopt, to submit an application.   Mina's adoption fee is $350.   A pply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. Story
Meet Meech!Meech recently went on a Doggie Day Out and showed everyone just how fun, smart, and affectionate he is. He started his adventure full of excitement, but a good game of ball helped him burn off energy and settle into the day. Once he’s had some playtime, Meech is happy to switch gears, coming in for cuddles between toy sessions and soaking up attention. This friendly pup loves toys and treats and is a fast learner. He already knows how to sit and was happily working on learning “down.” Meech responds well to verbal guidance and did great inside the home, showing that he’s eager to understand what’s expected of him. Like many young dogs, he’s still learning his manners and can jump up to say hello, so continued consistency and training will help him shine.Meech enjoys exploring, walks, and outings, including a successful trip to Home Depot, and would be an excellent match for an active adopter, such as a runner, or someone looking to give him a “job” to keep his bright mind engaged. With structure, exercise, and plenty of love, Meech is going to be a wonderful companion. If you’re looking for a smart, playful puppy who’s ready to learn and grow with you, Meech might just be your perfect match.

Story
Koda is a sweet boy and a very loyal dog! He loves staying at the Best Friends Pet Hotel in Carmichael for special occasions. He has had training at Ridgeside K-9 and is a quick learner. He is not a fan of our other dog or my husband. We end up crating him a lot if hubby is home or if we are hosting a lot of people (which is often). Koda would be GREAT in a 1-2 person home, especially with someone who works from home. He loves walks and fetch, especially with a stick at the park. He is great with other dogs, just not our Spaniel!

Story
Bean is one of the funniest, quirky, affectionate loyal dog. She has exceeded my expectations of what a cattle dog should be but dont worry, she doesnt act like the breed. Bean has no interest in farm life, that we know of but in place she has love for chasing the ball and only the ball. Shell sleep all day, be your shadow and will not let you forget that she loves you. She enjoys rough housing and wrestling sometimes more than playing with other dogs. Bean needs patience with public stores but with a mouth lead she walks just fine in there and on the streets. Ive gotten her used to the vest and leash, she doesnt pull or chase anything, mostly keeps watch on the surroundings but Im working on her confidence. Ive had her more than a year, rescued her but as time passes I feel I cant fulfill her emotional and physical needs. She deserves someone who can be home all day with her and spoil her with attention. I have more to write but I promise shes the best girl ever.
