Story
Nutmeg is a very sweet 4 month old collie mix who got an unfair start in life after being given away for free in a Tractor Supply parking lot. When she came to us, she was very skinny and unsure of herself, but with the love and patience of her foster family, Nutmeg has truly blossomed. Her confidence has grown every day, and her gentle, affectionate personality now shines through in everything she does. She is potty trained, crate trained, and does wonderfully with dogs, cats, and kids. Nutmeg absolutely lives for pets and cuddles and is happiest when she is close to her people. She is incredibly eager to please and forms strong bonds with her humans, making her the kind of puppy who will thrive in a loving home that wants a loyal, affectionate companion.

Story
Mina is a cute girl who is always down for some fun! Mina is estimated to be about 4 months old, and she is a smart and happy girl. She missed out on some socialization as a young puppy, so she is still learning about the world, but has blossomed in foster care and can't wait to meet her fur-ever family. Mina currently weighs about 20lbs, and we estimate that she will be around 50lbs when fully grown. Mina came to us from our partners, BONES Pet Rescue in Covelo. Mina and her sister (who has already been adopted) were found on a remote road, likely dumped by their previous owners. A friend of BONES found the puppies and brought them to the rescue. After some TLC, they were transferred to one of our foster homes, and Mina has been growing like a weed ever since. Mina is a curious and playful girl who likes to make new friends and romp around in the yard. She enjoys gentle pets and will even give you sweet kissies if you're lucky. She is still learning all the ropes of being a dog, and needs a family who can be patient with her while she learns and gains confidence. One thing that really helps her feel comfortable is having dog friends. We are hoping she can be adopted by someone who has a confident dog for her to bond with and can help mentor her. Mina is going to be a great companion for someone who is committed to continuing her training and socialization. She is an active and smart girl who learns quickly, especially if yummy treats are involved. Mina has done great with dogs of all sizes, but can be a tad too playful for older dogs, so would do best with a dog who can keep up with her energetic personality. We haven't seen Mina around cats, but she may do well with dog-savvy cats with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Mina has done well with being around livestock and even an extra-large tortoise. Due to her shy personality, Mina would do best in a home with kids older than 12 years old. Mina is still working on all of her basic manners, including house and crate training. She has been doing well being left alone in a secure outside pen, and is happy to keep herself amused out there during the work day. Mina is such a great little girl who has so much potential. If she sounds like the sidekick you have been looking for, head to our website, yolospca.org/adopt, to submit an application.   Mina's adoption fee is $350.   A pply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. October 17, 2025, 10:51 pm

Story
I’m writing a Bio and sending some photos of my foster pup Bino. (A723682)Hi everyone, my name is Bino and I’m a 7 month old Australian Cattle dog! I’m really fast and love car rides and to adventure on the weekends, but I’m also the most content lap pup! I’m working on potty training and I do pretty good for the most part! I even go to sleep in my crate the whole night without any fuss or accidents. It’s actually one of my favorite spots in the house. I keep my softest blanket and squirrel toy in it and when mama drags it around, I run super fast and jump in it while it’s moving, and I Pretend I’m in a cowboy movie and I’m jumping onto a moving train! Sometimes I wake up so filled with energy that, mama sends me to the crate to practice touching the ceiling with my toes.. I can’t reach it yet but it keeps busy til mama finishes her “iMpoRaNt wOrk mEetiNg” and then I’m out and back to wrestling my big sister and crawling up mama’s back like a spider.Ohh I almost forgot to mention! Apparently I have “Sectoral heterochromia” which means part of my eye color is different from the rest! I have it in both eyes but one is more noticeable than the other . I guess you can call me a blue eyed baby?Something really cool is, Mama says im gonna be someone’s Christmas present forsure !Also I have an instagram where you can keep up to date, on the soon to be best-thing to happen to you in 2025! It’s @adoptablepuppyratAnywhoo I’m gonna go see if I can sucker mama out of a pup cup, so feel free to send her a message if you wanna see how close to the floor I can run in real life!byeeeeeeee

Story
Meet Daisy, a charming 1 year old pup with a heart full of love and a dash of spunky spirit in a delightfully compact size! At only 35 pounds, this small to medium-sized, mini heeler shepherd girl (that's our best guess) isn't expected to grow much bigger, making her the perfect companion for adventures big and small. Daisy came to us with a bad case of demodex mange but her fur grew in beautifully! Daisy is a social butterfly who adores playing with other dogs, whether they're big or small. She's also a surprisingly tolerant housemate to cats, generally ignoring them unless they initiate a lively game of "run!" This curious girl loves to explore the world by your side and is always eager for new experiences, especially if they involve a car ride. As long as her human is nearby, Daisy is happy to go anywhere! While her ears may or may not decide to stand up, Daisy's personality certainly shines. She can be a bit cautious around male strangers, responding with a bark or two, but once she trusts you, she transforms into the ultimate snuggle bug. Watch out for her inner "mountain goat" tendencies – no coffee table is too high if it means reaching a cozy lap for cuddles! Daisy is incredibly smart and eager to please, making her a joy to train. She's highly treat-motivated and has already mastered "sit," "stay," "leave it," "down," and "touch" – though she'd love a family who will continue practicing with her. She's also a dream on the leash and doesn't pull, making walks a breeze. Daisy will need a fenced yard, likely at least 5 feet, and will do well with a guardian with working breed experience or someone eager to learn about working breed dogs! Daisy would thrive in a home with an existing playful dog who can match her energy, or in a household where she can be the shining star, offering endless love and protective barks. While she hasn't had much experience with young children, her manageable size and eagerness to learn suggest she'd make a wonderful family dog for kids. Are you ready to welcome this sweet, resilient, and playful pup into your home? Daisy can't wait to meet you! Daisy is microchipped, up to date on her vaccines, and will be spayed in late August. If you're interested in meeting Daisy, please fill out our adoption application, available at: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HHRC/Dognd we will get back to you within 72 hours. (Please do NOT submit an inquiry via Adoptapet - we are not able to view or respond to such inquiries.)
