Story
i I’m Raiden. I’m a 3 year old, neutered 35 pound Shepherd mix. I’m housetrained. I’m crate trained. I like kids and adults. I can get excited when first meeting. After that you do your thing, I’ll do mine. Cats are a no-no. Dogs, I love all sizes. I live with dogs from 15 pounds up to 60 pounds. I really like to follow the leader, if the dog wants to play I can play with the best. If the dog is more chill, I can chill and snuggle with you. Raiden’s adoption fee is $425. If you’re looking for a fun loving guy & are interested in meeting Raiden, then using the menu at the top of the page, click on Adoption Application. Complete & submit your application, which will serve as the basis for a conversation, & you will be contacted. We will make arrangements to meet with prospective adopters for Raiden only after a submitted application has been reviewed & a phone conversation has taken place. ***Please note that we are a foster based group located in the southern suburbs of Chicago. Raiden’s adopter must live in the greater Chicago metropolitan area.***

Story
Elsa is ready to find her forever home! This wonderful young girl is at the perfect age to learn, grow, and discover the world around her. She is sweet, friendly, and enjoys the company of everyone she meets at the shelter. As a young dog, Elsa will benefit from continued training to learn basic commands and good manners, helping her become the amazing companion we know she can be. She is eager to please and has all the potential to grow into a well-rounded family member with patience, guidance, and love.At this time, Elsa has not been around children or cats, so we are unsure how she would do with them. A fenced yard is preferred, giving her a safe place to play, explore, and burn off her youthful energy. If you're looking for a beautiful young dog to bring love, fun, and companionship into your life, Elsa may be the perfect match for you. Come meet her and see if she's the missing piece of your family!DOB 2/21/26 Pounds 21 and GrowingI'm waiting for a home to call my own. email webmaster@petrefuge.com to learn more about me or fill out an application at https://www.petrefuge.com/adoptPet Refuge was formed in 1978 to help with cats and dogs in need of homes. Story
Bear N/M 7 months old
 61 pounds
Bear is a 7-month-old, sweet and affectionate pup who loves being close to his people. He has a calm, observant side—he’s just as happy laying nearby while you go about your routine as he is engaging in play. He is mostly housebroken with very few accidents and is crate trained. Bear sleeps in his crate at night and settles well once he’s in his routine. Bear is very friendly with people and has not shown any aggression toward people or other dogs. He is playful and enjoys interacting with other dogs, often excited to meet and run up to them. He is currently working on leash training and can pull at times, but he is food-motivated and responsive, which makes training a great opportunity for continued progress. He recently conquered his fear of going up and down stairs.  He’s still very much a puppy and would thrive in a home that has the time and energy to provide consistency, structure, and continued training.

Story
Jesse Spayed Female 1 year old 60lbs Breed Guess: Collie/Shepherd Mix Jesse is the most submissive, loving girl who is so sad/scared at the shelter and so happy/bouncy/playful when she’s outside living her best life! She is ridiculously affectionate, absolutely LOVES other dogs (and would probably be happiest living with another dog), and wants to make friends with everyone. She came from a hoarding situation with seven of her littermates and has been an absolute joy to get to love on and care for. She will undoubtedly bond extremely deeply with her new person/family and will be so happy to say goodbye to shelter living for the rest of her life.
