Meet this handsome 4-month-old Collie mix! 🐾 At approximately 18 pounds, this sweet boy is the perfect age to start learning all the things that make a great family companion. He’s already learning to sit on command and is beginning to understand the ropes of housetraining. He is currently being fostered with an older dog who is helping show him the how to be a good canine companion. Having a confident dog around has been a great way for this little guy to learn and build his social skills. Of course, he’s still a puppy, so his new family will need to be patient, consistent, and ready for all the fun (and occasional mischief!) that comes with puppyhood. He’ll need continued work on housetraining, basic commands, manners, and all of the important Puppy Training 101 lessons. He will be neutered on October 9 and will be ready for adoption after this. This handsome boy is fully housebroken, comfortable in a crate, and settles well when left alone. He has learned not to destroy his toys, is improving with waiting at doors, and comes when called. Murray is highly intelligent and loves to learn—he even figured out how to let himself back inside by using a lever-style doorknob! Murray thrives on attention and affection. He loves to be part of whatever his family is doing. One of his favorite things is greeting his foster mom with morning snuggles. He responds well to treats, chews, toys, and calm, consistent routines. He navigates stairs with ease and has done well with grooming after overcoming his initial fear of the high-velocity dryer. Murray gets along well with other dogs and cats. He enjoys canine companionship but is still learning appropriate play manners and can be a bit exuberant at times.
