Story
Fenced yard required Fostered near Britton, MI https://www.collierescue.org/dogs/2054 Murray is a smart, energetic, and affectionate young Collie with a big personality and love for his people. He enjoys treats, toys, and a good game of fetch, and he’s always eager to learn, making him a rewarding match for an active home that can offer structure, playtime, and continued guidance as he grows into the wonderful companion he is meant to be. This handsome boy is fully housebroken, comfortable in a crate, and settles well when left alone. He has learned not to destroy his toys, is improving with waiting at doors, and comes when called. Murray is highly intelligent and loves to learn—he even figured out how to let himself back inside by using a lever-style doorknob! Murray thrives on attention and affection. He loves to be part of whatever his family is doing. One of his favorite things is greeting his foster mom with morning snuggles. He responds well to treats, chews, toys, and calm, consistent routines. He navigates stairs with ease and has done well with grooming after overcoming his initial fear of the high-velocity dryer. Murray gets along well with other dogs and cats. He enjoys canine companionship but is still learning appropriate play manners and can be a bit exuberant at times. A family willing to provide supervision, structure, and continued guidance will help him continue making great progress. Because Murray can be sensitive to certain sights and sounds outside of the fence, he would do best in a quieter environment with minimal outside distractions. A dog savvy, active home with a securely fenced yard, clear expectations, and plenty of physical and mental enrichment will be ideal for this bright young Collie. Murray is a happy, affectionate Collie who is ready to share his heart with a family of his own. With continued guidance, patience, and love, he will grow into a wonderful companion and a loyal best friend for years to come. Kevin James is around 9 months old and 37 pounds, He is full of personality. He loves to play with toys and play fetch or cuddle up on the couch and get cuddles. Kevin does well with kids and dogs. He is house trained and does well in a crate.Kevin was abandoned in a home that was very unkempt. Abused by previous owner and left outside in a very small yard is what we were told. You would never guess that's his past though because he is such a good and lovable boy that will make someone such a fun and loyal companion. A secure fully fenced yard is required.Kevin is up to date on shots, neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $350.00. Please email us at projecthoperescue@gmail.com if you have questions about him or visit our website at www.projecthoperescue.org to fill out an adoption application.June 8, 2026, 10:03 am

Story
This baby has a magnetic personality and a lifetime of love to give. He is gentle and affectionate, and smart as a whip! He'll be solving algebra problems soon if you let him! He's: * Super sweet and kind * affectionate and cuddly * very friendly * willing to play at the drop of a hat Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee. MICHIGAN RESIDENTS—>PLEASE CLICK THE LINK BELOW TO FILL OUT THE ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://new.shelterluv.com/form/other/TAP/2450-michigan-adoption Before we can change your new furbaby’s status from "adoptable" to "adoption pending," the $50 transport fee must be paid to secure the adoption. At that time, we will stop accepting applications. The entire adoption fee must be paid prior to the transport in order to ensure your new baby has a spot on the transport. Thank you SO MUCH for giving a homeless Arkansas pup a chance at a real life with a family of their very own!

Story
Cherry is such a joyful little pup! She is estimated to be about 5 months old and weighs 28 pounds right now. Meet Cherry, a burst of sunshine in puppy form! She is so fun to be around, with an outgoing and active personality, always wiggly and so full of life. She is honestly such a happy soul who loves to play and explore, and she does the cutest play bows, and lots of them! Cherry is a typical playful pup and likes toys, but she already has a soft mouth release with them, what a good girl. She is also a bit of a cuddle bug, always leaning in for some love and attention. She can be a bit submissive though and really wants to please you. Cherry would benefit from structure and guidance as she grows, especially for jumping up for attention, but with her intelligence, she should learn in no time at all. She will need a home where any children are at least 8 years old as she is still a little puppy mouthy and has some observed herding traits. Cherry would simply love it if you came to meet her, she can't wait to grow up with a family to love. If you are interested in Cherry and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

Story
Brandy came to us very unsure about what was going on, and with her came a litter of puppies she had to protect from all these strangers she`s just been made to be around. After the puppies were placed with a foster (all have since found their forever homes), Brandy has finally come to realize this is a safe place and we are good people who just want to help her. She is very friendly once she has warmed up to you. She needs some training and discipline to master her smarts to become a well rounded dog. She is spayed, vaccinated, tested and microchipped. A meet & greet will be required to ensure compatibility and please do not be discouraged if the first time you meet her, she`s a little standoffish. She`s one of those that takes her time, so a few visits may be necessary to truly earn her trust. Due to her weariness of new people and things, we recommend no small children. If interested, please complete our adoption application found here: https://www.elkcountryanimalshelter.org/adoption
