Story
Hi there! I'm Sadie - not Lassie, though they are my hero! It's taken a little time for me to get comfortable with my current foster parent but after a few months I'm starting to feel like a new pup! I love to go on walks and will often let my foster parent know when I'm needing some fresh air, or to go potty, by staring at them or giving them a little pat on the leg. On walks I don't pull on the leash. I can't recall, but perhaps someone once taught me to heal. I do have a powerful nose and when I find the scent of another animal, I love to follow their trail to see if I can find them to see what they are. I'm very curious and have been told I'm a genius - not to boast. Aside from the outdoors and tracking other furry friends, my most favorite thing is a good belly rub! They make me feel really happy! And if my foster parent doesn't offer them to me, I make sure to let them know by rolling over so they can see my belly! A couple of things that I'm working on are going up and down stairs and not barking at the large animals on bicycles, they're pretty scary to me! My foster dad has been helping me with the stairs and reminds me that those bicyclists aren't going to hurt me. I'm starting to feel much braver! I do have some heart worms, but Lucky13 has started me on the proper treatment. Other than that, I'm fit as a fiddle! Whoever ends up adopting me, I just need love and some patience. With a little time, I'll warm up to you and be your best bud. Sadie is available to LOCAL (KC area only) adopters through our foster to adopt program until her heartworm treatment is completed. Her adoption fee is $350 and comes with age appropriate vaccines, spay, microchip, and heartworm treatment. Story
Jerry found himself homeless due to a divorce. He is a bit scared at the shelter, as we don't think he was ever boarded, or been around a lot of dogs. He is shy at first meeting, but once he gets to know you, he is a love bug! Jerry has the softest fur imaginable, and is a wonderful companion! Midwest Animal ResQ offers a 30-day adjustment period within which you can evaluate the pet's progress and your adoption decision. If, within those 30 days, you determine your recently adopted pet isn't a good fit, you may return the animal and receive a MARQ credit that can be used toward the adoption of another animal. Our biggest priority is finding the very best match for you, and Completing Families one Tail at a Time! All dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, Heartworm tested, and current on vaccinations and preventions prior to adoption. Our shelter is located at 10312 East 63rd Street in Raytown, MO. We are open to meet pets Tuesday through Friday from 10-6, and on Saturday and Sunday from 10-5. We are closed on Mondays.
