Ever met someone who has been dubbed a tall drink of water? Thats a compliment for someone who is has long, lanky legs and is definitely exceptionally attractive. Hi, Im Kiara, and I AM that tall drink of water and more. Im simply gorgeous, Im young, smart and funny. I was returned to Great Plains after a couple of years in my home. My previous owners had really good things to say about me, but Ill tell you about the reason for my return in a minute.

They described me as smart, and thats because I know sit, down, shake and rollover (in one direction only). I learned all of those commands a few years back when I attended the Paws for Parole program. I might need a refresher course, but I learned so many things there. My family says that I love chew toys, Im super in a kennel, and I was good around the kids in the family. I played regularly with the neighbor dogs, and Im not known to chase squirrels or outdoor cats. Thats a FEATURE, right? I love long walks, playing with toys, and they described me as a really good girl. I do love to follow my nose, though. Thats what hound dogs do, ok? I might be into a a little bit of counter surfing, too; but we can work on that, I promise.

So my owners said that they adopted me back when they were working from home much of the time. But that has changed now, so Im home alone a good deal of the time. Sitting in my kennel. Since Im a girl who really has a great enthusiasm for life and everything in it, sitting in a kennel isnt the best environment for me. Being on the larger size, I gotta have older teens who are capable of walking me.

Do you think you might be interested in me? I am such a happy girl, and one that can be devoted and true blue and loyal all the rest of my days. Please give me that chance that Im waiting for, ok? Ill be a good girl.

Love from Kiara

Story
Meet Gypsy 🖤🐾 Gypsy is a 3-year-old Lab/Collie mix who suddenly found herself needing a fresh start after being with the same family since she was just a puppy. She was surrendered at no fault of her own, her family had to move overseas and couldn’t take her with. Gypsy is ready to find a second chance and a home that will love her forever. At 50 lbs, Gypsy is the perfect size companion with a sweet and gentle temperament. She’s potty trained, friendly with dogs, cats, and kids, and has the kind of personality that settles easily into family life. While we don’t know much yet about kennel training, we do know she’s been a loved family dog her entire life and is adjusting to a lot of change right now. Imagine how confusing it must be to lose the only home you’ve ever known overnight. Even through all of that, Gypsy has remained incredibly sweet and loving. She’s looking for a forever family willing to help her through this transition and remind her that she’s still safe, still loved, and still deserving of a happily ever after. 🐾 ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Story
Meet Koda ❤️ Koda is an 8-year-old red heeler mix who is incredibly smart, loyal, and looking for a very specific kind of home where he can truly thrive. Koda recently lost the only home he’s ever known because his family is growing and Koda has a tough time adjusting to the unpredictable nature of children. While that transition has been tough, he’s already starting to settle and show us who he really is. Each day, he’s becoming more relaxed and comfortable in foster care —but he will need a patient, committed adopter who understands that trust and learning a new routine takes time. The Basics • Potty trained & crate trained • Lived successfully with a small dog (mini dachshund) most of his life after a very slow and thoughtful introduction • He wants to be part of a “pack” Home Requirements Koda would do best in an adult-only home or one with older, respectful children (8+). He is not comfortable with young kids, especially if they are loud, unpredictable, or in his space. He will need slow, thoughtful introductions to other dogs, and at this time, would do best as the only dog or with a very experienced home willing to manage introductions carefully. No cats due to his prey drive. What He’s Working On Koda can be reactive on leash and in the yard, especially toward people and other dogs. He may lunge, bark, and pull, so he will need someone physically capable and committed to continuing his training. The good news? He is incredibly intelligent and already working on improving his leash manners in foster care. Breed Traits & Needs Koda is every bit the cattle dog he was born to be—smart, driven, and full of energy, even at 8 years old. He is not a “yard-only” or “couch potato” dog. A fenced yard alone won’t meet his needs. To truly thrive, Koda will need: • Daily physical exercise (hikes, walks, running) • Ongoing training and structure • Mental enrichment (puzzle toys, tasks, or a “job”) Personality Koda is a good dog with a big brain and a loyal heart. He isn’t overly cuddly, but he does show affection in his own way—whether that’s relaxing next to you on the couch or simply wanting to be near his person. He’s happiest when he has purpose and engagement. For the right person, someone who understands working breeds and is ready to invest in him, Koda has the potential to be an incredibly rewarding companion. If you’re looking for a smart, active dog and are ready to give Koda the structure and commitment he deserves, he just might be your perfect match. ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Story
My name is John, and Im a three-year-old Blue Heeler mix with energy to spare and a heart ready for adventure. If youre the kind of person who loves getting outside, exploring new places, and staying active, I think we might be a perfect match. Im the kind of dog who lights up the moment you grab a leash or toss a ball - playtime, walks, hikes, you name it, Im in.

Im also a pretty smart guy, if I do say so myself. Give me a treat and a little direction, and Ill absolutely crush any obedience class you put me in. Learning new tricks, practicing good manners, working my brain - its all just as fun to me as a romp in the park. Speaking of parks, I love those too.

What Im really looking for is a family whos as excited about life as I am. Someone who wants a buddy to join them on trails, in the yard, or wherever the next fun moment happens to be. Bring the whole crew to meet me so we can see if were the adventure team Ive been dreaming of.
