Story
If you’re looking for a snuggle buddy, look no further than Felicity! Felicity is a 2ish-year old collie mix with a heart of gold. She loves to snuggle up and stare lovingly into your eyes any chance she gets. She does great with other dogs and meeting new people out and about. Felicity is house broken and does well in a crate when left at home and overnight (otherwise she will probably sleep on your head); she enjoys a kong with peanut butter when going to the crate. If you’re ready for undying love and endless snuggles, consider adopting Felicity!  Petfinder is having issues uploading photos of pets. If photos are not viewable, please visit our website: www.adoptapitrescue.org All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   July 12, 2024, 1:44 pm

Story
My name is Tina and I’m a sweet 10 week old puppy.  I love  playing with my toys and my sisters.  I also love being held and cuddling with my foster family.  When I’m finished I love taking a long nap.  I also enjoying going out on my leash and meeting the neighbors.  I don’t know a stranger. Story
This is my neighbor dog, she needs to rehome her and his dog brother because she lost her job, and cannot afford to provide for the 2 dogs. Annie is a great dog but needs more attention and care than what the current owner can provide. Annie had a litter of 10 puppies last December and another liter in May 2024, so she urgently needs to be neutered. She will be spayed by the end of July. She is very sweet, good with other dogs and with kids. she is house trained and very docile.

Story
Can a Collie get a break here?? Yes, we think I am a collie mix and what a handsome boy I am!! I did not look this handsome when I arrived at the rescue, but a DEDICATED foster took me in and nursed me back to health and (even though it will be hard for her), I am READY for my FUREVER HOME!!! I came from a plea at a local animal control facility- I had been attacked by three other dogs at the facility who broke into my kennel and mauled me pretty bad :( My foster mom saw the post and agreed to help, and HELP she DID!!! Even though not a medical foster, she learned ALL the things she had to do to help my body and my soul heal. My back end/sides were torn OPEN on each side, numerous bite marks and punctures and infection when she got me. I spent quite a bit of time at the rescue vet for debridement and treatment of the very serious infections and then she took me home and changed my dressings daily and then weekly and then no more dressings!! I am a very very sweet and cuddly boy. House/crate trained, great with other dogs and everyone I meet (except kitties- not a fan). I am a medium sized boy and I am ready for you!!! My ideal family will love and appreciate my survivor personality, my cuddly and happy temperament and will keep me safe from harm for as long as they are blessed to have me :) Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Story
Forgive me for being a negligent foster mom and allow me to introduce you to HALLIE (knows Stella). ?? This sweet 14.5 yo senior collie mix, about 55 pounds, was returned to SAAP after 6 years through no fault of her own.  What I've learned about Hallie so far:  ? Housebroken,  ? Enjoys her crate but doesn't need one, ? Loves walks & her person, ?/? Low energy: fantastic if you're looking for a dog to quietly keep you company, but not a good fit if you're looking for a companion to join you on epic adventures ?/? She is said to be good with kids but not cats, however, I have neither.  ? She was quite interested & curious when seeing a bunny hop by on our walk, so maybe no small prey in her future home would be best. ?/? May be dog selective. While she was not enthused at all to meet my 8yo male resident dog who is half her size (teeth bared by both on opposite sides of the baby gate), she was happily enamored to meet & follow my neighbor's 7/8yo male dog who is twice her size along the shared fence line. ? I'd recommend no or very minimal steps for Hallie. I have only 2 for her to climb into the house and she will struggle sometimes & is a bit stiff when rising from a nap. Likely a bit of arthritis in her legs. If Hallie sounds like she may be a good fit to live out her remaining years in the comfort of your home, please consider submitting your adoption application at AdoptAStray.com or replying to your approved app with her name.July 12, 2024, 1:07 pm

Story
It’s time to  reintroduce  LENNY! Lenny is an almost 1y collie mix guy! He is ~30-40lbs and is likely full grown. He is crate and mostly house trained, but will bark when he wants out of the crate. Lenny just completed training with  Pawlished Dog Training LLC  and is finally ready to start his hunt for his forever family! If you think Lenny might be your new addition, we ask that you have the following criteria met before applying:  live in a single family home—no apartments, condos, multi family units have a fenced in yard—Lenny is timid in new places and has a flight response. To keep him safe and secure, a fence is a non-negotiable requirement have at least 1 other confident, playful dog—Lenny adjusts better to a new place and continues to gain confidence when in the presence of other dogs; being a single dog household will not be considered as this is not the best fit for him be patient—Lenny has spent a majority of his life in a shelter and while he’s came a long way, he is still adjusting to being a dog and a teenage pup at that! be committed to continue professional training—due to Lenny’s past, he requires continued confidence building, and as the confidence arises we suspect we will see normal teenage dog behaviors arise which will require additional training to work through and overcome these and to continue helping him be the best version of himself If you check ALL the boxes, submit your application online at  adoptastray.com  or reply to your approval email requesting a meet and greet with him!
