Story
FENCE NOT REQUIRED BUT PREFERRED DUE TO HER PLAYFULNES Meet Sandy: Sandy is a young, gentle girl who weighs about twenty-four pounds. She is still learning her house manners and will need a wee bit more support with potty training. She is also learning healthy boundaries when it comes to food. She shows some uncertainty in new situations and will sometimes choose to rest in her crate or hesitate before coming inside. With calm reassurance, she relaxes and becomes very sweet and snuggly. It appears she did not receive much early socialization, and she is learning at her own pace. Sandy has a soft nature and is making steady progress. She will do best in a home that understands she is still finding her confidence and is committed to helping her grow. Sandy will also do best with an active family or human willing to spend the necessary time to continue her studies on becoming an even more amazing Collie lady. At just 4 months old and in her formative puppy months, she will need someone dedicated to her upbringing. Being in a crate all day is not her jam. Cats are a-ok with Sandy. Another canine companion would be fun for her but they would need to match her level of play. With time, patience, and gentle guidance, she will continue to blossom. Are you the one who will be Sandy's hero? If Sandy strikes your fancy and you are ready to help her continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! And if Sandy is not your cup of tea, we have many more Collies of all ages coming in weekly. Story
PHYSICAL FENCE REQUIRED JoJo is a beautiful, young gal of just 2 years old looking for a new beginning after losing her beloved owner. JoJo came in with her sister DeeDee and we have found they do not need to be adopted together. She loves to play with other dogs, but would need a bigger dog as her canine sibling due to her high energy and the bit of pushiness she possesses. If she does not have a sibling, she will need an adopter who is home more often. Being young and very active, she will require a family or human to match her energy. She absolutely loves to play and will make an excellent candidate for sports like agility, rally, etc. JoJo knows “leave it” like a pro but does need consistency with her obedience training and direction. She is very smart and wants to please her humans but sometimes that young brain has other ideas. Consistency will be key to her success. JoJo is gentle, affectionate, and full of love to give. She greets everyone with kind eyes and wagging tails, always eager for a kind word or a soft touch. While she will need a little patience and practice with their leash manners, her willingness to please shines through in everything she does. JoJo has so much heart and happiness to share. She is so ready to fill a home with warmth, loyalty and the quiet joy that only comes from being loved – and giving love back. If JoJo strikes your fancy and you are ready to help her continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! Story
PHYSICAL FENCE REQUIRED Meet Daphne, a one-year-old tri-colored smooth Collie with the grace and beauty of true royalty. Though her young life has been spent outside in a fenced yard, Daphne’s gentle heart and noble spirit shine through. She is a princess waiting for her castle, a Cinderella ready to step into her happily ever after. Daphne longs for a family who will cherish her, guide her, and show her the warmth of life inside a home. She deserves soft beds instead of cold ground, kind hands instead of loneliness, and a loving kingdom where she will always belong. Daphne will need a patient adopter willing to give her the guidance she needs to find the true Collie spirit that we know is inside of her. A confident canine sibling would be ideal. She is currently under the expert guidance of one of our most experienced puppy foster mom who is also taking her to training. Here she will get exposed to more that life has to offer in hopes of building her confidence. We prefer to adopt Daphne as a work in progress so if you are ready to give Daphne a fairytale ending with her happily ever after come true please submit your adoption application to discuss her needs. Story
PHYSICAL FENCE REQUIRED This sweet southern belle just loves attention! Loveable and affectionate, Lilly Mae likes to be close to her human although not a velco dog (yet anyway!). Curious about everything this big new world has to offer. Confident and very playful as she is still just a youngster. She just adores all her new toys and plays nicely with her foster siblings listening and watching intently when she has pushed her boundaries too much. Respecting her elders is important after all! Lilly Mae is extremely smart and easily trained. She knows sit almost consistently and although she will paw when she wants something, Foster Mama is teaching her that paws on the ground while seated will gain her attention. Lilly Mae quickly responds to the word “no” when she reverts to puppy behavior like chewing on something that does not belong to her. She is a very quick study. Lilly Mae will need a confident, younger rather than older, playful dog companion and/or humans that are with her to play. She could be an only dog, only with active, consistently present dog owners. She is energetic. Kids will be fine, but anyone young or old unsteady on their feet is not a match or else watched closely. If Lilly Mae strikes your fancy and you are ready to help her continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! And if Lilly Mae is not your cup of tea, we have many more Collies of all ages coming in weekly. Please visit https://tristatecollierescue.org/how-to-adopt/ to complete the adoption application. Story
FENCE REQUIRED Hi there! My name is Chloe, and I’m a 6-year-old (well, almost 7) sable and white Rough Collie. Everyone says I’m a pretty girl with the softest coat and the sweetest face. Even though I’m technically an adult, I still have the energy and enthusiasm of a playful 3-year-old. I love to run, explore, and would be happiest with a big fenced yard or a family who enjoys plenty of walks and adventures. I’m a friendly girl who gets along well with other dogs, except small dogs as I still like to rough house. I do not mind cats either. Sometimes I forget how big I am, but I just want to play and have fun. I walk nicely on a leash, though I might pull a little when I get excited. I listen well, understand “no,” and I’m house-trained. I really just need finishing and I know I will get there with the right family or human to call my own again. When I need to go out, I go to the door to let you know. I do like to peek at what’s on the counters—just in case there is something tasty for me—and I sometimes get a little jumpy when I’m happy. Because of that, I would probably do best with older children who will not mind my enthusiasm. I would love a home with another playful dog my size or an active person or family who will include me in their daily fun. Collie girl shenanigans are more fun that way! I cannot wait to find my forever home, settle in, and become your loyal companion. Could that be you? Story
FENCE REQUIRED Here is Charlotte, a gorgeous young, petite Collie girl at roughly 40 pounds, with room to grow. She is very good with both cats and dogs and enjoys playtime. Originally from a rural environment, she is a country mouse learning the ways of suburbia. Navigating the routines of suburban life and adjusting well to new sights, sounds, and sidewalks. She walks nicely on leash and loves to stretch her legs with plenty of running. She has shown no interest in attempting to jump a four-foot fence. Charlotte is reliably housebroken with a consistent schedule. She sleeps through the night on the bedroom floor, peacefully sharing the space with a resident cat and dog. She enjoys quiet cuddles on the couch and seeks gentle affection. Once introduced, Charlotte is comfortable with neighbors and new adults. She would do best in a home with dog-savvy children age ten and up. Charlotte may need some patience to adjust to this big new world but she will be well worth it and reward you with Collie girl cuddles! She is eager to please, curious, and has the classic Collie tendency to stay close to her people. Charlotte is working on crate training, though she now eats in her crate and is making gradual progress. Her main challenge is building confidence when separated, and she is currently working on this with supportive guidance. A secure, playful canine sibling would help her gain her own confidence. Overall, Charlotte is a sweet, affectionate, and willing young lady who is learning quickly and will thrive with patience, consistency, and a calm, loving home. If Charlotte strikes your fancy and you are ready to help her continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! Meet Crystal, a beautiful 1½-year-old white cattle dog mix who’s ready to trade in her mom duties for a little “me time!” After raising a litter of adorable pups, Crystal is eager to be the star of the show and find a home where she can shine.
