Story
Everyone's adoption numbers are down this year, and especially for larger dogs; so, Baytown Humane Society is trying to go the extra mile to make our bigger dogs more appealing! Abigail aka Abby has not only been fully vetted, spayed, and microchipped, she has also completed three weeks of professional training! This particular training group allows lifetime contact and follow-up on the dogs they train; so, the adopter will have access to their support and advice, if it is ever needed. We believe this perk to be value added to a great dog! =) We believe Abby to be predominantly a Smooth Coat Collie. She is approximately 18 months old and weighs about 60 pounds. She loves car rides and has proven to be a happy, intelligent dog that does well with people and other dogs. She is eager to please and learns quickly! Abby is absolutely ready to find her forever home. Some lucky family is going to love and cherish this beautiful dog for many years to come! She is a keeper!! If you are interested in adopting this spectacular dog, just complete the online pet adoption application you will find near her photos on our website: www.BaytownHumaneSociety.org

Story
Oh my gosh, are you here to read more about little ol’ me? Oh, where do I start! Well, I’m just a happy doggo trying to live my best life and match up with a new family. DAS is helping me search, isn’t that cool? We’re still getting to know each other, but I think we’re going to find me some great friends. I’ve let them know that I enjoy long walks on warm evenings, trying all kinds of new snacks, and chewing on doggie toys. Who doesn’t love those things? Speaking of snacks, I’ve heard that Dallas is an exciting doggie-friendly place for food enthusiasts! I’d love to check out a few patios some day with my new family. Does that sound like something you’d enjoy, too? I sure hope so… maybe you could click that “Adopt Me” button and we’ll get to know each other better!

Story
This beautiful Momma just gave birth to 8 puppies in a loving foster home.  GINNY was a fantastic caregiver.  It is now her turn to have ALL the attention.  This gal is crate and potty trained.  In fact, she really likes hanging out and sleeping in her crate.  Her foster reports that she has had zero potty accidents!!  She walks well on a leash.  Ginny is both energetic and snuggly. She can relax with the best of them or play fetch and entertain herself chewing on toys While in foster, Ginny has been socializing with other doggies!  She will be open to sharing her new family castle! To meet Ginny, please fill out an online application. $200 Adoption covers spay/neuter, immunizations, microchip, and 1 month of Heartworm Prevention.  All dogs should remain on Heartworm Preventative for their lifetime..   For all pet inquiries, please email our Adoption Director at adoptions@dognkittycity.org or text the shelter at (214) 350-7387. If you are interested in adopting this pet you will need to submit an adoption application at dognkittycity.org/adoption-application.html. We are located at 2719 Manor Way, Dallas, TX 75235. We are open daily 11:45 AM – 5 PM, closed Tuesdays. Bella

Border Collie Australian Shepherd

Female, adult
Ennis, TX
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Good with kids, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Bella (and brother Joe Joe) belonged to my grandma who passed away in April. We are rehoming them only because we have 6 dogs of our own (I know!) and 8 is just too much. We have fostered her since my grandmothers passing. Bella is a mellow, shy girl. She loves belly rubs and will grab your hand to remind you she’s here. She is great with my children (6, 4, 2) and most of our other dogs. A few riffs here and there. She is a little skittish around wild children, so a meet and greet would be best if you have kids! She comes from a home with an elderly woman and exposure to children and likes attention and nap time. She is house trained and crate trained - her kennel/crate is her safe place and sleeping place, but she loves to run about in the yard, too! We’ve learned that she does not love chickens and ducks, but we have not seen her with cats. I’d assume she doesn’t love those either. She does not chew, other than her beloved stuffed dog.

Story
Joe Joe (and sister Bella) belonged to my grandma who passed away in April. We have been fostering them since. We are only rehoming them because we have 6 dogs of our own (I know!) and 8 is just too much. Joe Joe is a big ol sweet loving boy. He is great with my children (6, 4, 2) and most of the other dogs here with the occasional riffs. He has a bubbly personality and the sweetest face. He loves to frolick in the yard and will cozy up in his kennel happily. He is house trained and doesn’t chew! He will “woo woo!” when it’s time to eat, and loves “cookies”! I don’t think he loves chickens and ducks (not confirmed) and we have not seen him with cats. He loves all the attention he can get and comes from a home with elderly and exposure to children. We would love for him to be adopted with Bella, but it’s not a requirement as long as he goes to a loving home!
