Story
Rad was abandon as a puppy about 3 months old. He was under nourished and full of fleas. We picked him and got him medical care by a licensed veterinarian. My son tried to work with him but Rad does best with women. We think he might of been handled harshly by a man. Rad is about 11 months. He is much better being around men. Rad is house trained. He lets me know when he wants to go out by going to the door or coming up to me until I figure out what he wants. Rad is very loving. He really enjoys petting and being brushed. He does have that puppy behavior but is learning. He knows what kind of behavior will earn him a treat. He is playful and gets along with my and friends dogs. Rad would do well with a big yard, another dog to play with and older children. He is perfect for a owner who can give him lots of love and attention. I can not afford to own two dogs. I hope you will prayerfully think about homing Rad. Sincerely, Hopeful

Story
Meet Willow!Hi there! My name is Willow, and I`m a sweet and playful four-year-old dog. I absolutely love being around kids, and I`m known for being great with them. Although I can be a bit skittish around men when we first meet, I quickly warm up and become playful once I feel comfortable.I have excellent house manners, which means I know how to behave well inside. I never beg for food, and you won`t hear me barking unnecessarily. At night, I love to sleep at the foot of my fosters`s bed, keeping them company and providing them with warmth and comfort.Sometimes, when my foster leaves, I may scratch at the door. However, with a bit of training and adjustment, this behavior will improve over time. It could be a good idea to consider using a crate or kennel to help me feel secure and comfortable when I`m alone.Overall, I`m a really nice dog, and I would make a wonderful companion for anyone looking for a loving and loyal furry friend. To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. We don`t get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

GRACE NEEDS A FOSTER TO HELP HER RECOVER FROM HEARTWORM TREATMENT-Grace is undergoing heartworm treatment on 5/19-5/20/25 and needs a quiet home to rest as she recovers from treatment. Recovery includes a calm environment, crating, and only leash walking to potting and back for 30 days with gradual increase in activity.  She is young and we do not expect any complications. She is such a sweet girl she deserves a break! If you can foster please email us at foster@dsda.org for more information or complete our foster application at www.dsda.org/foster. We of course would also consider a foster to adopt scenario which is ideal in a situation like this. She is spayed and all her vaccines are up to date. Please help us find a loving home for Grace. Grace is a stunning 1 year old 50 pound collie/lab mix (best guess!).  She is very well trained and would love a home with a fenced yard and an owner who will to take her on walks-though apartment living suits her well, too! Grace is super chill with a laid back temperament. She would be happiest in a home as an only dog so she has your undivided attention. She is a great cuddler and even masquerades as a couch potato at times. She would be ideal for an older couple, less active individual or special needs person who would enjoy a low key dog.   To meet Grace in person visit us at www.dsda.org/adopt and submit our online adoption application.  ADOPTION FEE Covers: Core vaccines plus Lepto and Flu, all boosters, microchip, dewormer until clear fecal test & spay or neuter when completed by a DSDA vet partner plus any necessary medical care.  All dogs are on flea, tick and heartworm prevention and you receive the following month's preventatives complementary with your adoption!  * Adoption Fees: Puppies (12 months and under) - $325  Dogs (over 12 months) - $275  Qualifications for Adoption:  No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. DSDA is very careful to place our dogs in homes that we believe are the best fit for the dog based on our experience with each dog. All of our dogs live in foster homes which allows us the opportunity to learn about their individual needs.  Must be home more than not. Vet checks are required! All resident pets in the applicant's home MUST be spayed or neutered, core vaccines up to date and dogs on heartworm prevention to be considered! No exceptions.  Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address. Must have the knowledge and consent of all jadults living in the household. Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting. Willingness and capacity to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and responsible care for a pet. All poisonous plants must be removed from the yard.  DSDA is located in Dallas and requires a home visit on every adoption so only adopt to Dallas and surrounding areas. ##2179383##

If Roscoe had been in High School, he would have been Mr. Congeniality and probably Valedictorian too. He has a huge personality, loves people and knows no stranger and is very smart on top of that. What more can you ask for! This young man is an all around super star. Why he found himself without a home is a mystery, but we will certainly make sure we will find him the best one ever for the rest of his life. Can it be yours? Our Furry Friendz are available for adoption through a screening process which includes but is not limited to: a completed application, 3 referrals, a home visit, and a vet referral prior to their furever home placement. The dogs are Spayed/Neutered, micro chipped, current on all vaccines and on heart worm/flea preventive. If you're interested in adopting, let's begin the Adoption process by clicking the link below. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FURF/Dog

Story
Finn is a sweetie that I agreed to foster and then got attached to. Finn definitely wants to be a lap dog. He loves attention, people, play, running/chase, jumping (he possibly could be competitive 🤣 he can jump quite high), tug, and water/puddles! He gets along GREAT with other dogs. He gets along pretty well with my older cat, but it took some time. He is crate trained and fully housebroken. As for some of his not-great behavior, I would classify him as reactive. He needs obedience training, which I don't have the finances for, but I know he would benefit from. The other thing is that he has a strong prey instinct with a tendency to chase or snap at smaller animals that aren't dogs. Ideally, Finn can live with a family that has other dogs he can play with and lots of time and space to run off his high energy! My kids and I will miss him, but we just aren't the right fit and can't meet all of his needs.
