Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Check Me out !Introducing Carmello, a 2-year-old male Doxy mix with a striking dark coat weighing 16 pounds.  Carmello is a cuddly little guy who loves to hang with his human on the couch, bed, chair, car, he will pretty much be your partner for any adventure (or nap) you want to take.  His coloring is a mysterious dark chocolate on top and a lighter brown underneath which causes a shadow effect.  He gets along well with other dogs with proper introduction, but he would be happy to be a solo pup.  It is unknown about cats, but due to his size it would probably just take a skippitypap or 2 for him to realize who is in charge!  But he is no pushover, Carmello believes he is a protector so strangers have to be fully sniffed before pets can commence.  He is a champ on a leash, fully house trained and currently resides in an apartment with no issues. His adoption fee is $450 and covers his vaccinations, microchip and neuter.   If you are interested in me you can fill out an adoption application  HERE  and we will reach out to you.  If you are interested in fostering me, please fill out an application  HERE ! Story
George came into us from another rescue. One of their advocates was able to rescue him on the street and take care of all of the medical to get him healthy. But they found that he was extremely fearful and they did not have the proper situation for him to try to work through his fear. He came to our rescue in the middle of May 2023. He is terrified of being touched. We are not sure if it was caused by abuse or if he's never experienced human touch. After working with him it's very clear that he would love to be loved he is just unsure how to proceed. He will need an adult who is patience and understanding with him but also confident enough to give him direction so that he can feel supported while working through his fears. A home with no children is recommended and he does really well with small confident and kind dogs. He is currently in a play group with Guinevere, teddy, and mango

Meet Czech!DOB: January 2014Weight: 18 lbsDisposition: Polite, Smart, FriendlyHistory: Czech was adopted as a youngster and recently returned to our care when his family ran out of time for him.Best Home: Any home looking for a well-mannered pup! Czech has a lot of life left in him and would enjoy accompanying his family on walks and out and about on the town.Amazing Qualities: Czech may be older, but he's anything but retired. This little guy is proof that age is just a number, he's still fit and loves spending time out of the home walking, at the beach, or just hanging out. Czech is a pro when it comes to house manners. No accidents here - he's got it all figured out. On top of that, he's a kid-friendly canine! Czech lived with a toddler in his previous home.If you're interested in meeting this dog, please visit our website to fill out an adoption application: www.thebarkinglot.net/adoptOur dogs are located in San Diego County, CA.
