Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  My heart hurts for my beautiful Hanna She's a sweet, sensitive and gentle 2 yr old Dachshund Mix we rescued over a year and a half ago from TJ Mexico.  She is being returned to TLC K9 Rescue by her family simply because she is afraid of strangers.  She is great with her family, but scared only of strangers, neighbors or even family members coming into her home, so she hides. They are unable to accommodate her need for space and security, and unfortunately, their desire for freedom and spontaneity overrides their commitment to her well-being.  Hanna is a wonderful dog who walks great on leash, potty trained, loves her family including their children, and gets along beautifully with their other dogs.  The issue lies solely in her fear of unfamiliar people.  Despite my efforts to suggest solutions, including keeping her in a safe playpen or bringing in my trusted trainer to help her adjust, the husband remains adamant.  He has declared, 'We are not keeping her!'  My poor little Hanna My hope now is to find a patient and understanding foster or new mama who will give Hanna the time she needs to decompress, build trust, and feel loved and valued. She deserves a home where she can be herself, where her gentle nature and need for security are understood and respected.  Someone that will work with me and my trainer to rebuild her confidence and give her the training she needs to understand the world is not against her. (I will cover her training sessions)  I am searching for a loving family who will cherish her as much as she would cherish them, offering her the affection and patience she so deserves. If you can help Hanna please complete a foster application today at tlck9rescue.org   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 23, 2024, 3:44 pm

Story
My dear Cashew was adopted from a shelter in 2015 at an estimated age of 3-6. He was very shy/afraid and took quite some time to rehabilitate. He has always been a very good dog but his old age is getting the better of him. He is very anxious and barks a lot at noises. I also own a small in-home daycare and he has started snapping at the kids and even chasing behind parents and barking at their ankles at pick-up. He recently snapped at my 8 month old baby. He was a dream dog when we were child free and he had my undivided nurturing and attention, but that is just no longer the home environment I can provide. He would do well in a home with no children and no other animals with someone who can be home with him such as someone who works remotely or a retiree. Great snuggler. Loves contact naps. Due to his age, he needs regular restroom breaks. The adoption fee is negotiable with a strong character references.

Meet Milton! 🐾 Milton; the PAWfect name for this delightful, dashing, docile, dreamy, dachshund! He was rescued from the pound a few weeks ago and has been living at Robin’s house since! He was so scared on his rescue day and Robin couldn’t let him go. Since that day, he received lots of love, lots of pack therapy, and lots of positive human interactions. He has made remarkable progress! He’s so loving and sweet. He will go right up to strangers and lick them! He plays with all his furry friends and wants to be part of whatever is happening! We love seeing the transformation… every single time! 🤍🐾 Milton is neutered, vaccinated, and ready to spread his paws and start his FURever life!! He can’t wait to find his person/people and start making memories! Fill out an application on our website and come meet him!! www.dmdr.org

Story
Hi everyone! I’m Petey, a darling little ball of fluff and fun who is 11 weeks old and weighs 5 pounds. We’re not quite sure what our pedigree is. I do have silky soft black and white hair so my foster Dad teasingly calls me Holstein. (Wait 'til you see how cute I am in person!) My foster mom says I’m a really fun-loving and energetic little bunny. (Did I say bunny – aw, gee! I am known for my ability to hop – and jump – so I guess that makes me bunny-like! I love people – and I love other dogs. I also love to play (well, of course, I’m a puppy!) And while I do kind of walk, I definitely do bounce (Please check out my video to see me in action!) Oh and did I mention I am good in the car, learning to be potty trained (already!) and am lots of fun. Dad says I can be quite the entertainer. My sister Patti and I became FurKids after someone dropped us at a shelter, without our mom. We were pretty scared but fortunately we didn’t have to stay there very long. Then our foster Mom and Dad picked us up and brought us to their home where there are several pups, including one that was a Momma! She is teaching us all about how to be the best little pups we can be. And (this is an important ‘and’) I’m learning to be socialized. Mom and Dad have fostered many, many FurKids and say I really want to learn and to please! My hobbies include following Mom or Dad around, playing in the yard (I’m learning to play Fetch), sleeping in the sun and getting belly rubs. Oh, and I also love to snuggle. So if you are active, have at least one active, fun-loving young furkid and looking for a cute, funny, energetic and loving little buddy that sounds and looks like me… please complete our application. And if you want to adopt two absolutely adorable pups who enjoy one another, well Patti and I would love to be adopted together. Tails wags and puppy kisses, Playful and Perky Petey

Hi I’m Louie and I need to find my forever home. I am a loyal companion and a sweet boy. . My family loves me so very much but I’m not always great around young children. I sleep a lot, defiantly like to bark, love the sunshine and love to be near my owner’s side. I need a home where I’m not left alone for long periods of time. I love my belly rubbed and giving lots of kisses. I will do best with a yard and daily walks.

Story
Meet Rustler! Rustler entered Los Angeles Animal Control - Lancaster Shelter as a stray. When he wasn't claimed, we scooped him up on April 9th to become a Frosted Face. He is 10 years old, weighs 10 lbs., and has the sweetest personality! This made him the perfect ambassador to represent FFF at a community event. Rustler joined volunteers and several other dogs available for adoption at a presentaton about FFF. During the presentation, he made the rounds through the audience and happily being held by anyone who would have him! Rustler LOVES to be held and cuddled. Rustler went on a two-week Frosted Fling, and after only a few days to settle in to his new surroundings and the routine there, he fit right in with the many other dogs in the home, and was a loving cuddle bug! His Fling Mom reports: "Rustler is a really loving boy. He loves people and goes up for pets, or even better, preferred being in a lap. Energy level for Rustler depended on what we were doing. If we were in the yard, he would run around and loved trying to catch the squirrels running through the yard. When we were in the house, he was mellow and would follow me around (especially into the kitchen!) Rustler walks well on the leash, and although we didn't do any long walks, I think he could easily go a mile. Rustler loves food and would finish his food in record time. He did not resource guard, nor did he try to get to the other dog's food bowls. He preferred soft treats rather than hard treats. It took a few days for Rustler to settle in. He whined at times wanting to be on my lap or if I went out the door. He paced around a bit too, but within a few days he knew he was going to get fed, loved and receive lots of lap time. Rustler slept through the night, he barked the first time I left the house, but was fine after that. He was a bit restless on his first car ride with me, but after that he laid or sat in the passenger seat quietly. Rustler would start walking around, nose to ground when he needed to go out. Or, if he was on my lap, he would keep moving around. which was also a cue he had to go out. Rustler will make a great, loyal companion." Rustler is now back on-site. He is scheduled to be neutered and have dental surgery on August 1st. Wouldn't it be wonderful if he recovered from surgery in his forever home? Maybe with you? Stop by to meet Rustler during Open House on Saturday and Sunday 10:00-1:00!

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Sharon! Sharon entered Lancaster Shelter as a stray, and when she wasn't claimed, we scooped her up on June 12th. She is 10 years old and weighs 10 lbs. A little shy at first, understandable after all the recent upheaval in her life, Sharon warms up quickly. She does well with the other Frosted Faces in our littles play yard and enjoys attention from our staff and volunteers. Sharon LOVES to go on walks! She does really well on her leash, but likes to be snuggled too. She does well with kids and dogs. She takes dog treats nicely, too! Sharon is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we can learn more about her in a home setting. Her Fling Mom shared this great update: "11 days with Sharon!! Who says old gals can't have zoomies? After a yummy dinner, her favorite routine is to run around the carpeted halls for one or two speedy laps and then settle into her bed for the night. She also loves pup cups and sleeping in funny positions. What a sweetie! Some facts about Sharon * Doesn't mind being picked up and once she gets used to you will grip her little paws around your arm and nuzzle into your arm * LOVES ear scratches! She literally falls over sometimes when you scratch her ears because she is so busy enjoying! * Mostly potty trained! She knows what to do when she's outside; she pees and poops within 2 minutes if she needs to go. She uses pee pads like a pro, so we just keep one out in case! * Loves chicken! Actually I think probably all food, but chicken is a strong favorite. * Startles easily if you walk up behind her. or if she doesn't realize you have arrived back home * Is a shadow! Follows you all around the house, but as soon as you sit down, she will go to her bed and sleep." Check back for the full report on Sharon's Fling!

These pups are in Escondido, California too!
