Story
Dachshund lovers take a look at this unique little guy! Meet Choco Latte, a male Dachshund/Husky Mix. This 1 year 3 month old boy is currently 22lbs and is going to stay small; about 28 lbs. He's incredibly affectionate however he doesn't understand personal space yet, but you tell him to lay down, happily does it. He enjoys playing with his siblings, drinking from the hose and going for walks. Seeing his human gets him very excited, and being so eager to please, he'd be a good candidate for training. He is a happy go lucky baby looking for a loving home. He's had his vaccines and has been dewormed. Please call Vicky with K9 Connection Pet Re-Homing and Adoption, if you have any questions 760-672-2258. We are a 501c3 rescue. Story
Meet Earl — 10 pounds of pure “hold my treat, I got this” energy. 🐾🔥 At 15 months old, he’s basically a toddler with fur: curious, adorable, and occasionally chaotic. This little dude is a pro-level cuddler. If you sit down, Earl will be in your lap before your brain can even process the moment. Snuggle ambush unlocked. 💥❤️ He’s also a tiny athlete. Walks? Yes. Playtime? Double yes. Mental stimulation? Triple yes with a side of zoomies. 🏃‍♂️💨 Potty training? We’ll call it “a work in progress.” Earl is trying, okay? He just needs a human who believes in him… and maybe a reminder or two. Or ten. 😂🚽✨ If you’re looking for a small dog with a big heart and even bigger personality, Earl’s your guy. 💛🐶

🌟 Meet Sadie – Small Body, Big Attitude, Huge Heart 🌟 Sadie is a smart, affectionate little lady with just the right amount of sass. Her best guess breed combo? Jack Russell + Dachshund, which means short legs, fast thoughts, and opinions. Lots of opinions. She’s as sweet as they come and thrives on positive encouragement—gaining confidence daily as she bravely explores the world (and investigates everything like a tiny detective). Sadie would be a great fit for a loving, active home—especially one with kids to play with and humans who don’t mind being followed everywhere. She loves attention, playtime, and being directly in the middle of whatever is happening. She’s been attending doggie daycare, so she’s well-versed in social hour and making dog friends. She’d be perfectly happy as your one-and-only or as the fun sidekick in a multi-dog household. If you’re looking for a bright, loving pup with charm, confidence, and just enough mischief to keep life interesting… Sadie is your girl. ✅ Kid-friendly ✅ Dog-friendly ✅ Quick to bond & eager to please ✅ Thrives with love, structure, encouragement… and compliments Apply to adopt Sadie today and help her start the next chapter of her journey—full of love, laughter, and a couch she will absolutely claim as her own. 🐾💖

Story
These little rascals were born at the very end of November 2025, so they are just now ready for their forever homes. Their mom weighs about 22 pounds, and you can see from these puppies that they too will stay small. They’ve been very much hand raised, so they’re very social, attentive, friendly, and outgoing. Not to mention, cutie than darn bugs! They’ve been around kitties and other dogs – even a big hundred-pound Anatolian Shepherd dog. They’ve been loved, healthy, and handled since they were born, so they’re already extremely social. They are attentive, affectionate, mellow, loving, quiet, playful, and goofy; they’re perky, alert, happy, and very smart! And believe it or not, they look like tiny Labrador Retrievers! They’ve also already been around small children – a two-year-old and a six-year-old. These are gentle and loving little dolls who are already crate trained and well on their way to being house broken! There’s not a lot I can say about puppies other than I think any one of them will make a wonderful little buddy for you and your family. I’m a firm believer in a sleepover, so you can always take a puppy home to make sure it’s a good match. I want you to be happy and the puppy to be happy and then I can be happy! Of course, their adoption covers their spay or neuter, all of their three baby DA2PPv’s, their Bordatella inoculation, and their rabies shot. They are perfectly healthy, happy, silly little guys. I am a firm believer is having potential adopters take a pup home for a “sleepover” to see how your family, your other pets, and your new best buddy all get along. We always take our rascals back if it isn’t a good fit. Please call 858-602-2061 or email findabestbuddy@gmail.com for more information about all our wonderful adoptable best buddies!

Story
7-year-old Rhode Island and his brother Connecticut came to us from the San Diego Humane Society, and they are truly precious. It’s clear these cuddly boys have known a home (and a couch!) because they are expert cuddlers who happily ask for belly rubs. And just try not to smile while watching a video of them walking together — could they be any cuter? Because of their sweet bond, we would love for Rhode Island and Connecticut to be adopted together. That said, what matters most is that they each find a loving forever home, whether together or separately. To see how they would do on their own, the boys went on Frosted Flings with different foster families. During Rhode Island’s Frosted Fling, he earned the nickname “Roo” because his floppy ears reminded his foster mom of Roo from Winnie the Pooh. Here's what we learned: * Super sweet and loving * Great in the car and happy to go along for adventures (he loves the beach!) * Loves long walks and seemed to prefer going potty on a leash rather than while wandering in the yard * Wonderful with kids and people * Does adorable full leg-and-body stretches * Got along swimmingly with 2 of the 3 cats in his foster home (the third one was a bit too sassy!) * Loves all attention, especially being pet and having his belly rubbed * Very happy and eager overall but can be a nervous little guy at times, understandable after all the recent upheaval in his life * Likes to be close by whatever family member is home, but when left alone, he settles on his own and is not destructive Gentle, loving, and devoted, Rhode Island is the kind of dog who makes himself right at home in your heart (and on your couch). Whether he finds his forever home with his brother or on his own, Rhode Island is ready to give endless love to a family who will cherish him the way he deserves. And just try not to smile while watching the video of them walking together - could they be any cuter? Given Connecticut and Rhode Island's sweet bond, we would love for them to be adopted together. However, what is most important is for them to have a loving forever home, whether together or separately. To see how the boys do without the other, they went on Frosted Flings with different foster families. Connecticut's foster mom reports: "Connecticut (CT) is doing well and has been a fun little foster. He is a very sweet, happy boy, and his little tail is always wagging. He adores getting attention. 🐾 He rides great in the car. 🐾 He LOVES his walks! Don’t let that frosted face fool you. He still has lots of energy & spunk. 🐾 He was curious about my cats, but just took a sniff and then lost interest. 🐾 He is a great eater. He can be picky about the treats you give him and prefers them to be handfed rather than put on the ground. He has standards! 🐾 He’s had no issues with my 3 other dogs ranging from 30-75 lbs. 🐾 His absolute favorite thing is belly rubs! He’ll roll over any chance he gets. 🐾 He is a snuggler and sleeps next to me all night. 🐾 He’s a little goofball. 🐾 He did great getting a bath. 🐾 He follows my every move. I’ve been taking him to work with me because he barks on & off while I’m gone. He is with other dogs but I’m not sure that my dogs make him feel safe like his brother might. Other than when I’m gone, I haven’t heard him bark. Connecticut is the sweetest dog, and I want him to find the perfect forever family. This boy just loves love!" Story
Hi, my name is Babe! I’m a petite 10-lb Chiweenie who arrived in San Diego on January 24 after being found as a stray in Calexico. My first week was a bit rough — I had just been spayed, so I spent a lot of time resting and taking my meds. Everything was new and a little scary. Curbs, stairs, doorways, elevators, and even walking on a leash were big challenges at first. But guess what? Just eleven days later, I’ve made huge progress and I’m good to go! Now I can easily walk a couple of miles a few times a day, and I’m a fast little walker too. On walks, I prefer to steer clear of other dogs, but with time I’ve grown comfortable co-existing with my neighbor dog — we can share the same space peacefully. I haven’t been around cats or children yet, so those would be new experiences for me. Because of my post-spay restrictions, I was potty trained using potty pads, and I’m spot on with them! I’m just starting to notice toys, but my true love is a good bully stick. I’m still working on being alone — right now I’m not comfortable without my people. Being part Dachshund, I’m always on alert and very tuned in to my surroundings. I’ve been living in the East Village of downtown San Diego, where the sounds, smells, and sights never stop. With my little legs only about four inches off the ground, city sidewalks can be a bit overwhelming. Downtown condo life just isn’t ideal for me. My dream home would be in the suburbs with a backyard and someone who’s home about 90% of the time. I truly thrive when I’m close to my humans — that’s my happy place. I warm up easily and am always ready to curl up in a cozy lap. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who just wants to be by your side, I might be your girl. 🐾💕
