Dachshund lovers take a look at this unique little guy! Meet Choco Latte, a male Dachshund/Husky Mix. This 1 year 3 month old boy is currently 22lbs and is going to stay small; about 28 lbs. He's incredibly affectionate however he doesn't understand personal space yet, but you tell him to lay down, happily does it. He enjoys playing with his siblings, drinking from the hose and going for walks. Seeing his human gets him very excited, and being so eager to please, he'd be a good candidate for training. He is a happy go lucky baby looking for a loving home. He's had his vaccines and has been dewormed. 7-year-old Rhode Island and his brother Connecticut came to us from the San Diego Humane Society on November 24th, and they are precious. It's clear these cuddly boys have known a home and a couch, as they sure do know how to snuggle and ask for belly rubs. And just try not to smile while watching the video of them walking together - could they be any cuter? Given Rhode Island and Connecticut's sweet bond, we would love for them to be adopted together. However, what is most important is for them to have a loving forever home, whether together or separately. To see how the boys do without the other, they are both currently on two-week Frosted Flings with different foster families. Rhode Island's foster mom reports: "We are having such a fun time Flinging with Rhode Island! He seems to be doing great here without his buddy. He’s getting along well with our cats and loves being pet and eating treats. Rhode Island is just so easy to love! He has the most precious baby face and personality. His floppy ears remind me of “Roo”, from Winnie the Pooh, I’ve started using it as a nickname. He does great walking on leash and seems to prefer to walk on the sidewalk or street, instead of in grass. At this point, he is not interested in spending time in our backyard. Rhode Island does the biggest leg-body stretches, it’s so cute. I keep asking him how a gentleman with such little legs has such big leg stretchies!" Check back for future updates! He’s 8 years old but still has lots of energy & spunk. 🐾 He’s had no issues with my 3 other dogs ranging from 30-75 lbs. 🐾 He is a snuggler and sleeps next to me all night. 🐾 He’s a little goofball. 🐾 He did great getting a bath. Chester is a 1-year-old, 9-pound pup who came into the Calexico shelter as a stray. The shelter was overwhelming for him, so he moved into a foster home after about two weeks — and he’s been blossoming ever since. When Chester first arrived, he wasn’t used to human affection and preferred to hide. With patience, he’s learned to trust and now enjoys being close by. He still needs a calm, patient home that will give him the time and space he needs to feel safe. Chester is a sweet, curious little guy who loves the company of other dogs and even lives peacefully with two cats in his foster home. He especially thrives when he has a confident dog friend to show him the ropes — and to romp around with! One of Chester’s favorite things is going on walks. He’s also very food-motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding. He’s a smart boy who’s eager to learn once he feels comfortable. The ideal home for Chester is one that’s quiet and understanding, with a family willing to let him come out of his shell at his own pace. With love and patience, Chester will reward you with loyalty, companionship, and lots of tail wags.
