Story
I was recently rescued from the wheel well of a car because I was being chased by a scary man. Kimie freed me and purchased me from the homeless man who told Kimie that I did not yet have a name. Since it is that time of year, Kimie gave me an Irish name. However, she feels that I am a Dachshund mix due to my long body and short stubby legs. Since I am clearly a mix of some sort, my body is not as long and my legs are not as short as a purebred Dachshund. Which means, I should have less health problems due to those breed characteristics. Although I was initially afraid of men, I almost immediately warmed up to my foster daddy. I am now starting to act like a puppy and play with toys. As with any homeless animal, I am going through potty-training and learned how to use the doggie door almost immediately. And, I learned how to use the ramps in the house instead of jumping. I do love to jump and will have to be reminded not to jump off of furniture to avoid injuries. I am a typical puppy and try my darndest to befriend all resident animals. Kimie says I provide her with plenty of comic relief because I do not give up on her grouchy sanctuary dogs. I am not yet neutered but can go to my forever home as a foster dog until I am fully vetted.

7/7/25: This sweet girl came into the Animal Shelter as a stray, just about to burst with pups and not fully mobile on all four legs. She is being seen by a vet to determine the best way to deliver the pups. She will become available as soon as all her pups are whelped and weaned, anticipated to be early to mid-September. But you don't have to wait until then...if you are interested in this girl, fill out an application. Our goal is that as soon as she is done being supermom, she has her own place to land right away! She deserves to be pampered and cuddled for the rest of her life!

Snoopy aka weenie is a lover but is also a protector of his human. Very energetic, loves to do the zoomies. Easy with a leash but also once relationship is established will stick by without a leash. Hes potty trained but if the time between potty breaks is too long an accident is bound to happen. Loves car rides. And my favorite is he is a cuddle bug. *He does have his rabies vaccination.
