7/7/25: This sweet girl came into the Animal Shelter as a stray, just about to burst with pups and not fully mobile on all four legs. She is being seen by a vet to determine the best way to deliver the pups. She will become available as soon as all her pups are whelped and weaned, anticipated to be early to mid-September. But you don't have to wait until then...if you are interested in this girl, fill out an application. Our goal is that as soon as she is done being supermom, she has her own place to land right away! She deserves to be pampered and cuddled for the rest of her life!

If you're looking for a cuddly, sweet, potty-trained small dog, look no further, Midnight is waiting for you! This girl has so much love to give. She wants to be with her person/people at all times. She knows sit and loves treats. She's met other dogs and done well unless she's in your lap. Then she won't share, so it is recommended she be an only dog. She was also neutral meeting cats, but would likely not share her person, so cats are not recommended unless they are outdoor or unsocial. Midnight is a spayed, 4-year-old, 20-lb dachshund mix. She is microchipped and up-to-date on vaccines.To make an appointment to meet Midnight, please go to yoloshelter.org/adopt. All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months). All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control. George came into us from another rescue. One of their advocates was able to rescue him on the street and take care of all of the medical to get him healthy. But they found that he was extremely fearful and they did not have the proper situation for him to try to work through his fear. He came to our rescue in the middle of May 2023. He is terrified of being touched. We are not sure if it was caused by abuse or if he's never experienced human touch. After working with him it's very clear that he would love to be loved he is just unsure how to proceed. He will need an adult who is patience and understanding with him but also confident enough to give him direction so that he can feel supported while working through his fears. A home with no children is recommended and he does really well with small confident and kind dogs.
