If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5. Story
Tabitha is a gentle soul eager for love! Tabitha is a 2-year-old darling girl that is sweet as can be. She is a shy girl, but once she gets comfortable with you, she will greet you with the happiest tail wags and wiggles. She has come so far in the short time she has been with us and has blossomed into a loving, loyal girl! Tabitha is full-grown and weighs about 17lbs. Tabitha came to us from the Yolo County Animal Shelter after she was found dumped in Clarksburg with her four 8-month-old puppies. She wasn't at the shelter long before we swooped in and placed her in a foster home. Tabitha seems to have had limited life experience up until now and is slowly learning how to be a dog. She has slowly gained more confidence and has learned to trust her foster parents, she especially likes her foster mom. Tabitha's new family will need to be prepared to take things slow with her and help her gain more confidence. Once you earn her trust, she loves to cuddle and get pets and will always greet you with the happiest wiggle butt. Tabitha is quite the smart cookie and has quickly learned some mischievous habits - including jumping up on the kitchen counter! She would do best with a family that can provide her with lots of mental stimulation to keep her busy mind from getting her into trouble. She would be a great companion for someone who wants a dog to whom they can teach lots of tricks. Tabitha loves other dogs and does best when she has a confident dog buddy to live with. She has become BFFs with the youngest small dog in her foster home and being friends with her has helped her thrive. Tabitha will need to be adopted by a family that has a dog buddy for her, preferably a small playful dog that she can run around with. Tabitha is afraid of cats and needs a kitty-free home.  Due to her shy nature, Tabitha would do best in an adult-only home. Tabitha has been doing well with her housetraining and does well sleeping in a crate in the bedroom with her foster parents. Tabitha can be anxious when home alone but has been doing well in her crate if she is near the other dogs in her foster home.  Tabitha is so deserving of a fresh start with her forever family. If you think that is you, submit an adoption application today!   Tabitha's adoption fee is $250.   Apply to adopt here! https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/  Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm and started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to his or her age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. December 7, 2023, 7:39 pm

Story
When we rescued Dodger they told us he was potty trained, he was not however we worked with trainers etc and now he is potty trained to go when taken out on a leash. He is a super sweet boy that loves everyone. He gets along great with other dogs and very well with children. He needs a smaller space to feel safe. He is crate trained and has never had an accident in his space however left unattended in a larger home he will sneak off to do his business, it is still a work in progress. We moved to a larger home with several acres which makes him anxious, plus we cannot keep him in and their are coyotes in our area often. We are hoping to find just the perfect person or family for him.
