Luna came from a breeder and lived with several other Dachshunds. While her previous family cared about her, they simply didn't have enough time for all of their dogs. Now it's Luna's turn to be someone's cherished companion.This little girl loves being an indoor dog and is house-trained, letting you know when she needs to go outside. Since she hasn't had many opportunities to venture beyond her home, she's still learning about the world. This little hotdog-shaped girl is Camela! She weighs 30 lbs. She has an interesting look to her that makes us think she's a Dachshund wearing a German Shepherd jacket. :) She has an unknown history, but based on her teeth, she is estimated to be around 3 to 4 years old. She is a lovely girl that just wants to join you for a cuddle and receive gentle pets. She was found with a dog friend and she pretty mellow, so that makes us think she'd do ok with a resident doggie. Any resident pups should join the meet-and-greet so we know how everyone gets along! Camela was originally a stray, so once her stray hold is over on 7/18, she will be spayed and microchipped (scheduled for 7/21). Adorable Gretchen is ready to wiggle her way right into your heart! She is a darling 6 ½ -month-old puppy (born approximately 10/30/25), weighing 10.8 pounds, with a beautiful black and tan coat. This sweet Dachshund / Chihuahua mix definitely takes after her Doxie side with her long little body and irresistible charm. Gretchen came to AFC with her sister, Gretel, who is also available for adoption. She was lovingly surrendered so she could find the forever family she deserves. Gretchen is current on her vaccinations, micro-chipped and is scheduled to be spayed soon, but she is ready to start meeting potential adopters now. She’s still a puppy, so she will need continued house training and leash training, but she’s already learning the routine of going in and out on command and is eager to please. 7/7/25: This sweet girl came into the Animal Shelter as a stray, just about to burst with pups and not fully mobile on all four legs. She is being seen by a vet to determine the best way to deliver the pups. She will become available as soon as all her pups are whelped and weaned, anticipated to be early to mid-September. But you don't have to wait until then...if you are interested in this girl, fill out an application. Our goal is that as soon as she is done being supermom, she has her own place to land right away! She deserves to be pampered and cuddled for the rest of her life!

Ava is as sweet and warm hearted as they come. She is gentle and warm hearted with people, and other animals. She is still new to the program and and we're getting to know her but the more we learn about her she's pure beauty.
