Story
Our female doxy had Bandit in April 2024. We decided to keep him to be his mom’s companion. He is crate trained and lives inside of our house. He loves to sit on your lap and have his belly rubbed. He grew up in a home with a fenced backyard where he could run, sniff, and play. He loves following scents. We recently moved to a new house in the country near two busy roads without a fence, so Bandit does not get to run around outside as freely a he would like to because we cannot watch him every minute. He doesn't like other animals. I think that’s because he is protective of his mom. However, he is very affectionate and loves attention. Bandit needs a loving home with a fenced backyard where he can cuddle inside and run around freely outside.

He is an appx 1.5-year-old, 6.7 pound, black & tan, Miniature Dachshund (maybe a wirehair) he could have a little something else mixed in him? . Heine is a very happy boy. He is a cuddle bug and loves being cradled in your arms. His day is best spent following you everywhere you go. He may need some house training but he is doing well at the sanctuary. We take him outside on a schedule. He is learning to use the doggie door. He made need some leash training. He gets along well with other small gentle dogs. Here is a list of things that should help us answer you in a more timely manner. 1. When you apply please always use the same email address. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5. For Adopt a Pet (scroll way down past “Ask about me”) you will see the biography and underneath that will be the adoption questionnaire link.
